Comments about Rotosound FM66 Funk Master Bass Strings:
For me these strings are realy outstanding, I have them on my Fulerton active jazz bass, 24 fret medium scale, playing thru my Markbass combo amp. the tones I get are amazing , I loose no bottom end, their tru on the higher frets, and very easy to play, plus stay in tune but i'm not slaping or pounding on them, Iv'e used many different strings over 30+ years of playing and I don't think you can beat them for the money, its hard to belive for such a lite guage string
Comments about Rotosound FM66 Funk Master Bass Strings:
these strings will do the trick. Yes they are called FunkMasters but for me they really shine when playing rock, jazz AND funk. In order to get that hollow growling P Bass goodness I used to really have to dig in with my fingers or attack hard with a pick but these strings will give me the tone I want with very little effort.

mhm well i use these on my 5 string cort curbow 5 with a 105 as an E and then tune E-A-D-G-C as i found in the band i was playing with the B was jus way to low to make any sense and ultimately never got used so i saw these tuned em up a bit and must say the high c gets used alot more than i thought it would
Comments about Rotosound FM66 Funk Master Bass Strings:
Honest and truly, these stings come to life with just the slightest touch. Awesome for funk slapping, soooooo easy to do it and it's almost effortless. Close to the fatter Rotosound tone, too. Two problems that you'll need to overcome. First, you'll be tuning these a little more often if you're as hard on them as I am- especially the low "E". Secondly, you're going to have to back off on your pizzicato attack. Learn to "pluck" the string a little softer. Other than that, I'll definitely use them again off on on.
Comments about Rotosound FM66 Funk Master Bass Strings:
I switched to these from my Ernie Ball Slinky's. I like the thin-ness, and I noticed a definate increase in my speed. They're not the best I've played, but they don't make the strings I like anymore. And to the gentelman a few below me...I just find that kind of ironic that these strings are used by Geddy Lee, yet they don't work on his bass. Sorry to hear that, but it's great irony.
Comments about Rotosound FM66 Funk Master Bass Strings:
These strings are a little too thin for my bass (Geddy Lee Jazz). When I put them on, the neck immediately lost its curvature so I had to adjust the truss rod and then the string height had to be increased because of buzz. The E and A strings sounded okay but the other two just didn't give enough sound to cut through unless the treble was way up. They may be good for pop/slap but not for rock. Also, they are steel wound and will probably wear down the frets and fingerboard.I will replace them with D'addarios that are slightly heavier ( 95, 70, 60, 40) and wound with nickel.

These strings are absolutely amazing!I have then on my modified Kawai F2B, and they sound amazing. The bends you can do with these strings are wicked, and there is no significant loss of bottom end. The strings are so comfortable they practically play them self. 20 bucks for a set or rotosounds, great bargain. I have no intention of stringing my bass with any other strings, after playing these I'm spoiled and won't go back to a heavier gauge string. Slapping is a breeze with these too, the name funkmasters is very fitting. 20 bucks, buy them and try them, if you don't like them your only out a twenty. But careful are you might fall in love with them like I did.
Comments about Rotosound FM66 Funk Master Bass Strings:
Funkmasters are the bestOK. I own a Geddy Lee bass. and i equipped it with these set of strings. I've had the same strings on if for 6 months, and have not let me down so far.As these strings age, you will get increasingly mellow sound. If you won a Jazz bass even better... you will be able to sound relatively close to Jaco Pastorius whether or not you play a fretted or fretless. As for the bottom end... none is compromised in spite of how thin these strings are. also, these strings can take a load of punishment. so shed your fear of snapping them if you play hard.you will not get dissapointed from these strings. I can say from experience, that i recommend that you keep em for a while since they get better-sounding as they age.I'm going to use these from now on. as have Geddy Lee, Mark King, Cliff Burton, (correct me if i'm wrong) and Jaco Pastorius.
Comments about Rotosound FM66 Funk Master Bass Strings:
These are by far the best strings I have ever played. They're perfect for slap and pop techniques, as well as quick plucked parts. A small adjustment of your action and you'll be free to go, no complaints at all, I recommend them 100% and I will never use something else.
Comments about Rotosound FM66 Funk Master Bass Strings:
I really dig 'em. But I gotta say they play and feel different than anything I've ever played. So if you want something like other strings you've played don't get these. They are suited well to those who play with a light touch and let there amps make the noise. however the more aggressive players may enjoy the speed and ease of the left hand.
