Comments about Rotosound Roto Reds Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

I love these strings, and have since I bought my first pair a few years ago. They have great tone, are nicely priced, and barring any kind of defects (specifically any on the guitar) they last quite a long time. With that being said, I absolutely hate the new color coding system, which seems like some non-musician executive's way of cutting costs. This set was the first I've bought since they changed from separate, clearly labeled packs for each string within one box. Perhaps someone wanted to insure these couldn't be easily sold as individual strings, or again the non-musician exec. decided to cut costs. Either way, the change is only a minor setback for an otherwise great brand of strings that I've used for playing styles ranging from Surf to Metal, and many styles in between.

Comments about Rotosound Roto Reds Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

Every guitar for every musician has an ultimate voice, and string choice is a key part of finding it.

Being a player of old rock (and blues) styles I tend to use pure nickel strings on my single coil instruments, but as I was looking for a bit more chime from my Jazzmaster, having heard good reports from similarly inclined guitarists, I thought I'd give these a try. I'm glad I did!

Tonally they seem to me to be perfect for this instrument. Tuned to standard pitch they produce a solid bottom and just the level of brightness I was looking for. Very present, but not at all brittle.

Finish seemed good -- helped initially, I'm sure, by the fully sealed packaging with the inclusion of a desicating agent.

The ball ends were color coded, but with just three colors, not the six used by D'Addario. Enough, however, to avoid any confusion which string is which.

I expect these Rotosound Reds to be my regular go-to for the Jazzmaster, and I will likely also try them on an HB-equipped Gibson.

        BEWARE!!

Comments about Rotosound Roto Reds Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

BEWARE! These strings are packaged so that several strings are all in one package. This makes it difficult to access one string at time during a live show. I tried that and they all sprung out! What a mess! You must memorize the color coding on the ball tip of the string to know the gauge. It is usually dark in most clubs and I cannot see the tiny ball tip to select the proper string. I will NEVER buy these strings again!!!

I recently tried RS's on a referral and I really like the strings. Best part is they give you an extra high e string. Very cool!

Comments about Rotosound Roto Reds Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

I started out playing the Dunlop steel strings then started playing the new Ernie ball cobalts. Both of those are great strings however roto sounds just are better. They sound amazing and play even better. The first thing I noticed was how well they stay in tune. The problem I had with the cobalts was them lasting long and staying in tune and these strings stay in tune and last forever. They are inexpensive and the best string on the market hands down.

Comments about Rotosound Roto Reds Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

I play an Epi Sg with P90's and previously had Ernie Ball "power slinky" strings. I had high hopes that those would be much better than my D'Addario EXL115s but the EBs seemed a bit lower quality and with a bit less tone, punch, and clarity. After hearing the EBs for a few weeks I decided to try something new rather than go back to the EXLs (strongly recommended strings too). I came across the Rotosounds R11. These strings shimmer and simmer. The tone is absolutely gorgeous and the feel is high quality too. Absolutely clean all around. Highly recommended strings. Thank you Rotosound.

              Great Strings

Comments about Rotosound Roto Reds Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

I use these on my strat and have not found a string that not only sounds as good but LASTS as long. I've used lots of D'addarios which also last but their tone isn't as rich. Fender and ernie ball strings use cheap material that does NOT last in my opinion. These are a high quality string that will last and have superior tone - try them!
