Comments about Rotosound RS665LD Roundwound 5-String Bass Strings:

No other strings have "that sound". I've been playing for 34 yrs.and I've tried other strings in the past, but I'm done wasting my time and money. For me, Rotosounds are the best.

Comments about Rotosound RS665LD Roundwound 5-String Bass Strings:

I bought these strings for my Squier Affinity Jazz Bass V. When I put them on, they had SO much growl. It was crazy. That was a month ago, and they're still growlin' away. I'll probably use these for a few more months and go back to Fender 7250's. These strings sound really cool if you're looking to sound like Geddy Lee or John Entwistle, but I'm not so much.

Comments about Rotosound RS665LD Roundwound 5-String Bass Strings:

I've played on nothing but these strings since I "discovered" them about 4 years ago. These strings are nice and meaty, and they give a well-balanced, articulate tone that lasts a long time and doesn't die out quickly like e/b or ghs.Over the years, I've used e/b slinky's, GHS boomers, D'Addario's, and Elixir, and, until I started using these, never really had the tone I was looking for. These are definitely worth it.

Comments about Rotosound RS665LD Roundwound 5-String Bass Strings:

I've played Rotosounds for over a year. I played DR hi-Beams & GHS progressive steels for many years, but I've found these Rotosounds hold a more consistent sound over a long period of time (i.e. they don't dull out quickly). As far as tone, these have a clear focused & meaty tone, real nice & real useful for many situations. They also have a great texture to the touch. My set-up is: Spector 5 string, Heartke Head, Ampeg cab.

Comments about Rotosound RS665LD Roundwound 5-String Bass Strings:

I've been playing Rotosound strings for 35 years and won't use any other. I bought a 5-string Bass for a back up and couldn't get the sound I wanted out of it. I had it professionally set up and strung with Brand x strings. Still no good sound.
I gave up on the new bass and was considering trading it but I decided to buy the Rotosound strings and try one more time.
Presto! Big fat sound, clear and strong. Now I love playing the 5-string because of the Rotosounds.

Comments about Rotosound RS665LD Roundwound 5-String Bass Strings:

The only reason I dont give them a 10 is because they are a little expensive and sometimes you get a bad batch. What I mean by bad batch is they dont last as long as they should. Some batches seem to be better than others sometimes.
As always most Rotosound strings sound fantastic. Hopefully these will last a while and not go dead after a few uses. They are just what the Doctor ordered especially if you play a passive P or Jazz bass.

      Great feel and sound

      By Anonymous

Comments about Rotosound RS665LD Roundwound 5-String Bass Strings:

I play in a Christian older and contemporary band and the Rotosound strings are the best I have played. I play by ear and only know what I feel and hear and these strings sound and feel great! And the sustain is very sweet! I kid around with the drummer on held endings just how long I can hold the note. These strings have really bumped up the enjoyment of playing the bass. I've played country for 15 years and Christian music 6 years. I hope Rotosound strings last longer than others but even if they last the same it won't matter as I have found my string of choice.GOD BLESS (bassdog)

I expected them to really work well and get the job done and that's what they did plus more. I've tried ernie ball strings and they sounded alright but once you put rotosounds on your bass you won't be disappointed at all they had a noticeable sound difference instantly.

Comments about Rotosound RS665LD Roundwound 5-String Bass Strings:

i got the strings because ernie ball strings always took a dump on me. so i was looking for what strings i should use and i came across a rotosound ad with chris squire on it. i checked the site and found geddy lee was also using them. 2 of my idols use them so ill give it a shot. at first they were clanky, very steely sounding, of course. but once you break them in, they make you stand out. the sound can not be duplicated.

Comments about Rotosound RS665LD Roundwound 5-String Bass Strings:

I was about to record my current band's first album. So I went with the most expensive strings (that would fit me) I could find. These are what I bought and I have no regrets. Because of the price I don't use them for regular practice, but I always have a fresh set of these babies on for shows and recordings. I completely love these strings and the price of them here is a lot less expensive than if you found them at a store.

Comments about Rotosound RS665LD Roundwound 5-String Bass Strings:

Restrung one of my 5 string bass guitars with these Stainless Steel strings- Absolutely a new instrument now, the tone and response are beyond anything I could have imagined! The bass sounds totally different, and plays different- these strings vibrate different- hard to explain but they do not act like other strings I have used. The clarity and punch I have gained turned a relatively low quality bass into a monster. Will restring all my basses with Rotosound from now on-- will not disappoint!!

Best Bass Strings! Pro musician using them for over 30 years. Occasionally tried others to see if I was missing out on something, always came back to Rotosounds!! Deep growly to glassy slap tones. With my Sadowsky Vintage 5 and Rotosounds, I can cover any gig easily!! There's a reason they're still around since the 1950's, they sound AWESOME!!

Comments about Rotosound RS665LD Roundwound 5-String Bass Strings:

I am a weekend warrior playing paid gigs at local bars and smaller venues. The sound of these strings are great so long as you are not looking for the best "lounge style" sounds (Flatwoods are best for the more subdued tone).
Installation is simple and straightforward as possible, unlike the Rotosound PSD 99 strings.
Cannot comment on longevity as I've had these on my 5 string Fender Jazz for only a month, but they don't go dead right out of the box.
Absolutely my favorite "aggressive/power" tone and will be ordering again when these finally wear out.
Great product and great bang for your buck.
