The Seymour Duncan AHB-1s Blackouts 7-string Phase I set features the same amazing 9V active pickup setup as 6-string Blackouts humbuckers. The Duncan AHB-1s Phase I set is a direct retrofit for passive 7-string humbuckers made by Seymour Duncan and DiMarzio®. Like 6-string Blackouts, Duncan 7-string Blackouts pickups use balanced inputs with a differential preamp for reduced noise. Blackouts are voiced for heavy rock with greater dynamic range, less scooped mids, and less compression than other active pickups for electric guitars.
The 7-string Blackouts are available here as a calibrated neck and bridge set. Seymour Duncan includes 25K pots, stereo jack, battery clip and other mounting hardware.
Duncan Blackouts noiseless pickups are perfect for old school metal, garage, punk, thrash, drop tunings, and other heavy rock styles.

Just awesome. These arent just "metal" pickups, they sound great for everything. They reproduce your guitars full sound, including all the low end your passive pickups cant handle. The difference in the low register is undeniable.
They are also more versatile than EMGs. Cleans and light dirt sound excellent, where on emgs they can sound buzzy and unnatural.

I received a Schecter Omen 7 from my wonderful soulmate for Valentine's Day and while I fell in love with it,it seemed to lack a little beef and clarity on the top B string.I was looking at the EMG 707's but they put them in a base case!The Blackouts were exactly what I was looking for.Great price and value.I would recommend these to anyone with a stock 7 string pickup.

this active set is much better than passive pickups especially when playing that low B. no muddy or distorted tones from these bad boys. every note is clearly boosted through your amp even when palm muting making it almost effortless to achieve great sounds. absolutely perfect for metal or hard rock. instructions were so easy to understand i just looked at the diagrams and didn't even need to read a word. they dropped right in without any routing or cutting and were an exact retrofit for my guitar that doesn't have the room for the bulkier, larger phase 2 version. i would recommend this set to anyone with a 7 string even if you already have active pickups. i've played both EMG and DiMarzio versions and i like the Seymour Duncans the best hands down.
