OVERVIEW

Vintage craftsmanship, sweet highs and percussive lows.

The Seymour Duncan Antiquity II Surf for Strat would be equally comfortable in the smoky clubs of Chicago's West Side as hanging ten at the Malibu Pier. The Antiquity II Surfer is hailed by many members of the Seymour Duncan User Group Forum as the ultimate pickup for vintage Strat chime and quack. Whether you play Blues, West Side Soul, Surf, or Jangle Pop, the Surfer has the sweet highs and percussive lows to give you and your Strat a Free Ride on the Way Back Machine without sacrificing output or versatility.

The Antiquity II Surf for Strat is designed for any position. A Custom Bridge version is available for those players needing more output from the bridge position; and an RW/RP (reverse wound/reverse polarity) version is available for the middle position.

To some, this is craziness, intentionally creating an aged electrical component. But if you're like Seymour Duncan, and you appreciate the personal commitment and hand craftsmanship found in early electric guitars, then you'll want to capture that timeless beauty with an Antiquity pickup.

LOVE these pickups!

Comments about Seymour Duncan Antiquity II Surf for Strat:

It's hard to put a finger on what exactly makes these pickups so special, but they just have that ethereal "it" quality anyone who's actually played a vintage Fender will recognize. I was looking for vintage-style pickups for my 1989 American Standard Strat, and I found out John Frusciante had these in his '55, so that was a big selling point for me. These pickups deliver classic Strat tones in every pickup position, with more dimension and depth than the pickups that came in my guitar. They just have more character. The amount of care Seymour Duncan put into these is apparent even when just opening the package, and the sound really backs it up.
Every minute detail is recreated to give you the feeling you're actually holding a 1960s guitar pickup when you open the package. Quality is amazing.
They're pricey, I'll admit, but worth every penny!

Comments about Seymour Duncan Antiquity II Surf for Strat:

if you think your strat styled guitar needs a pup upgrade, i strongly suggest these pickups. real tone monsters. i wont turn back to anything else.
what can i say? they are vintage pickups from seymour duncan. sweeeeeeet bell tone out of the neck. enough cut for myself as a lead player, but provides enough warmth to really add to a mix. the only reason they arent perfect is this: they cannot fit in EVERY musical style. blues, rock, classic, jazz, etc. they are nothing short of amazing. remarkable clarity. hardcore metal? ehh, not so much.
its a duncan. i have never seen any problems in seymour duncan pickups as far as quality. these pickups are no exception.
a real investment in guitar tone. i knew i wanted a strat sound, but i wanted to stand out and narrow my sound. real vintage tone. every day that i play these bad boys, they sound better to my ears.

Comments about Seymour Duncan Antiquity II Surf for Strat:

I saw the demonstration of the pickups, and thought they would suit (wet)my needs. They come right and sound Quacky. The reverse-wound middle was what I was after ,too. Note that that they came signed off by Seymour himself. Thanks ,Seymour. I had them soldered in by Dave, and I can't recommend these pick ups enough. Also note: these pick ups were installed on a PartsCaster, so they might sound good on your axe, Eugene.
