2 types of magnet add clarity to the bottom and mellow out the top.

Sand-cast Alnico V magnets on the 3 low strings add more definition and punch to the bottom end. Sand-cast Alnico II magnets on the 3 high strings provide a warm and smooth top end without sacrificing that great Tele quack. Tele players often complain that their low strings sound "mushy" and their high strings are too bright - especially in the bridge position. The Five-Two concept counteracts this phenomenon. If you look closely at the pickup, you can actually see the difference between the 2 magnet types. Designed for the bridge position.

    Features

    • Alnico II and V rod magnets
    • 6.7k D.C. resistance
    • 8.2kHz resonant peak
    • Single-conductor, cloth-wrapped cable

Your guitar is only as great as your pickup. This is one of the best. Buy it!

Seymour Duncan Five-Two Tele bridge Pickup

    By Anita Nugara

Comments about Seymour Duncan Five-Two Fender Tele Pickup:

I'm giving this a 10 all across the board because it's the best sound Tele bridge pup I've ever played.

    Perfectly balanced pair

    By amphead

    from new england

Comments about Seymour Duncan Five-Two Fender Tele Pickup:

A unique and clever idea, different alnico values. Perfectly executed
The Five-Two Tele pickups have that vintage sound and perfectly balanced as a pair. The bridge pickup is vintage Tele and the neck pickup is reversed wound/reverse pole- noise-reduced balanced when you move the switch back and forth. You can almost hear the resonance peak shift!

    Get a pair!

    Great for shoegaze & blues!

    By jones.SPQR

Comments about Seymour Duncan Five-Two Fender Tele Pickup:

I recently put a pair of these in a cheap Squier standard telecaster I bought to hot rod and these give me just the bluesy tone I was looking for. Coupled with a big muff pi it also produces really good shoegaze and drone sounds.

    Does the job

    By Undercover

    from Carpinteria, ca.

Comments about Seymour Duncan Five-Two Fender Tele Pickup:

I was advised to buy this pick up after speaking with tech support from seymour duncan. Installed it in my MIM 72 telecaster custom. I will say it's better than the stock pickup the guitar came with but, i thought it lacks in the midrange, and bass fields. It's VERY bright. A little too much for my taste. Good with distortion! But i feel it's good for one sound...bright and treble. That's all I use it for. It think this pup lacks in the lead department. I guess i expected too much. It's exactly how decribed...a vintage sounding pup. If you want more than vintage, keep looking.

    A solid choice

    By G-wiz

    from Indianapolis, IN

Comments about Seymour Duncan Five-Two Fender Tele Pickup:

The five-two is good bet. It works with many different wood types, it is pretty versatile, and Brent Mason has recorded with it on a bizzillion records. I replaced the duncan designed pickup in my tele, and the difference was unmistakable. Seymour makes some good stuff. I have the JB and the Pearly Gates and they are great pu's as well. The Jazz is an incredible neck pu and the Seth Lover is sooo warm. The upgrades are worth the money.

    Five-Two = TEN!

    By Tele lover.

    from Chicago suburbs

Comments about Seymour Duncan Five-Two Fender Tele Pickup:

I have finally found the pickups to replace the lame sounding Lace sensors that came with my '97 Tele Plus. I have tried many combinations including the Fender Texas specials and these are far better. They are reverse wound for hum canceling. The neck pickup can have a jumper removed and a separate ground wire added for a 4 way switch for series/parallel setup. They have a great clean bell like tone without the harsh ice pick treble sound of the bridge/lead pickup that many tele pickups deliver. The neck pickup can deliver a great jazz tone without getting boomy or muddy. In parallel they deliver a very chimney resonant tone that sounds great. In series (4 way switch) they deliver a hot humbucker output that can go from great harmonics to over the top gain by using your volume and tone controls. I'm in love with my Tele all over again. Thank you Seymour Duncan. Your five-two idea scores a ten with me!

Clear, Balanced, and Good For Chords and Leads!

    By Anonymous

    from Undisclosed

Comments about Seymour Duncan Five-Two Fender Tele Pickup:

These pickups (I have both the neck and bridge position pickups in the same tele) sound fantastic. I play a Maple fretboard tele that would be super bright, but these pickups tame that brightness with smoothness meets clarity type tone. Great! Will buy again for sure.

    Sweet Highs, Tight Lows

    By Geoff Arnold

    from Hillsboro, OR

Comments about Seymour Duncan Five-Two Fender Tele Pickup:

I bought a '50's model Tele and the rhythm pickup was weak. I put in the 5-2 and it balanced so well with the lead pickup that I may replace the lead pickup with another 5-2. I can't recommend this enough for you, died in the wool Tele players. I'm a pro and I expect quality performance out of everything I use. If not, it goes. This made my Mexi Tele sing. Buy it if you are looking for a good solid performer with great TONE.

    An obvious difference

    By Desert Justice

    from Gilbert, AZ

Comments about Seymour Duncan Five-Two Fender Tele Pickup:

This pickup does just what they say it will do. You have to play with the height adjustment for an even modulation. After that it's just what the doctor ordered. Punchy on the low end, and chiming steel guitar like highs. Get that Brent Mason sound, you'll love it!
