Comments about Seymour Duncan Full Shred SH-10n 7-String Humbucker Electric Guitar Neck Pickup:
This pickup isn't bad at all but seems to be missing something. I installed this in a special edition ephi les paul 7 string, neck position. It replaced an Armstrong model that was installed after-market by the previous owner of the guitar. Pros of the full shred: Great high-gain solo sound for fluid, shredy stuff, smooth sweep picking. Sounds nice through a dirty amp with the volume rolled back for chords and single note playing. Very nice clean sound - has a unique and focused tone, not flubby like some other neck pickups I've used. The main down side for me was that it still doesn't do chordal stuff well with higher gain settings on the amp. It just gets too muddy which sucks because I was really hoping I'd be able to use it for that sort of application. Overall a decent PUP though. Definately an improvement over my previous one.
