I bought this set today after doing much research. I have an Epiphone SG Special which I like very much. They must have made it on a good day cause the guitar plays/handles well. The stock pickups were not real bad, and I pretty much use the bridge pickup most of the time. But the neck pickup and using both with switch in middle position SUCKED. The tone was muddy, undefined and smeared sounding. So I decided to upgrade the pickups. These sound unreal! The neck is clear and clean and bright!!!! Just what I like. The bridge is more ballsy and has a nice bite.

Quality:

The quality seems pretty good and I looked these pickups over from front to back before installing them. No problems seen.

Value:

I think I got  terrific deal! The price was right and the pickups perform exactly as I hoped they would.

Overall:

I can't say enuff about these pickups. They transformed my guitar into a tone monster. I play mostly bluesy, jazzy stuff and don't need a high output pickups(s). I love the neck tone, where before with stock pickups, the nech was unusable.

Duncan Hot Rodded Set

Features:

these pickups are excellent in the ease of installation aspect. 5 wire leads along with the wiring diagram was pretty sweet, and if you are into having a lot of variation, the duncan website features a huge archive of wiring diagrams for virtually any configuration.

I only wish they included covers on the pickups.

Quality:

Duncan pickups are some of the best pickups for a mahogany bodied guitar.  I prefer them to gibson pickups just do the the supported midtones.  I replaced the stock gibson pickups in my les paul and it really boosted my favorite aspects of the guitar; it had plenty of bass naturally but boosted the mids and highs.

I wouldn't reccommend them for a basswood or alder body though, dimarzios are a bit better choice.

These are my first duncans but im going to definately get more for my other les pauls.  Great buy, sound, and build.

I purchased this set a little over a year ago and had them installed in my Epi Les Paul Plus Top.  The sound is absolutely amazing.  The versatility of these pickups makes for endless possibilities.  The jazz pickup offers smooth clarity and killer solo capability, with distortion and without.  The JB offers scorching leads and raw power rhythm.  Many studio musicians and mainstream artists rock this pickup combo. I have been playing all sorts of genres for 25 years. This is all you need.  These pickups have transformed my Epi LP into an amazing instrument.  My epi is now my guitar of choice because of these pickups.  They sound amazing live and in the studio.  You won't be disappointed!
