OVERVIEW

For that searing, crushing Dimebag tone!

The Seymour Duncan SH-13 Dimebucker is an electric guitar pickup that helps you make your own metal massacre tone. It uses a powerful ceramic magnet coupled with stainless steel blades to generate a take-no-prisoners attitude. The secret to Dime's crunch is the small amount of metal mass in the core of the pickup. This allows both high D.C. resistance and a high resonant peak. The result: a high-output, aggressive humbucker with lots of treble bite and clarity, combined with punchy bass response and exceptional dynamics. The SH13 Dimebucker is perfect for hard rock and heavy metal.

FEATURES
  • Powerful ceramic magnet coupled with stainless steel blades generates take-no-prisoners tonality
  • Small metal mass in core produces aggressive, high-output with treble bite and clarity, and punchy bass response

Invest in your tone and earn a dividend of heavy crunch with the Dimebucker. Order it today.

The Dimebucker is really a fantastic alternative to the Bill Lawrence pickup used in the original Dean Dime From Hell guitar. It replicates the output, tone, clarity, and versatility of the original with extreme accuracy and no compromises in quality or any other area. I installed this pickup in my Washburn Dime (it's the top end 333 model in black), and it perfectly replicates every aspect of the Bill Lawrence pickup Dime used in his Dean. I've tested them side-by-side through a number of different amps with many different effects and always come up with the same result: Perfection! I usually play mine through a BOSS MT-2 Metal Zone and a Marshall Zakk Wylde mini stack and a Fender Roc-Pro 1000 combo using a signal splitter so both amps are active at the same time. Results are tonal clarity, perfect equalizer settings for metal, blues, and rock, as well as fantastic performance both clean and overdriven/distorted. I've found this to be a very versatile pickup, but I mostly play metal with it. Install is a breeze if you follow the instructions or if you already know what you are doing. Custom installs (like coil-splitting or coil-tapping) are also an option, which is nice. Bottom line, great pickup for any metal fan (especially Pantera/Damageplan/Dime fans) with great tone, versatility, and high output. Highly recommended. The attached picture is of the Washburn Dime 333 in a different finish and without the Dimebucker, but it was the only publicly available picture I could find of an example of the amazing Washburn Dime 333.

This is an incredible pickup with a wonderful tone. But, if you should know that you can still order a custom pickup from the real Bill Lawrence, for about half the price of this pickup. This is an exact copy of Bill's L-500 design, and though he chose not to take legal action, you should know that the original is still the best.Plus, he will custom tailor it for your exact guitar and playing style.Beware, though, of Lawrence pickups. This company also makes cheap imitations that sound bad and feedback. These are the reason Dimebag himself thought he could no longer get a quality L-500.You don't have to take my word for it: this information is all available online if you look. If you want a true Bill Lawrence pickup, check out Wilde Pickups. You can only order it on their website, but the price is incredible, the quality is the best and the tone is unbelievable.

Comments about Seymour Duncan SH-13 Dimebucker Pickup:

Honestly I couldn't care less about Dimebag. However, the humbucker that bears his name is a white hot item, better than all bladed buckers I've tried, expelling a vicious metal and rock tone, exhibiting the grit of an Alnico II (which it pairs nicely with), but with an added clarity and sharpness that makes for a blistering lead attack; this pickup absorbs gain while it simultaneously cuts through it, articulating a sound neither thin nor muddy nor mechanical. It also brings the neck position alive unlike anything I've heard. A winner all around. Blast away!

Comments about Seymour Duncan SH-13 Dimebucker Pickup:

This a great pickup. Good for Heavy Metal, Hard Rock, Rock and some Blues. Bright and aggressive with high output, but still has color and balance. The high end is sharp but not to edgy, the bottom not fat but full bodied and round, with the right amount of mid to fill it out. Had a Duncan, Custom 5 liked it but decided that I wanted the output of a ceramic magnet. This was the answer, recommend you add a coil tapper pot. When engaged on a clear channel, you get a very nice clean sound that is clear and crisp. Very happy I got this, plan to grab more of them.

Put this in my Les Paul , replacing a Dimarzio Super Distortion. Loved the SD, but was looking to change it up after 30 years. What a disappointment! The tone was good, but compared to the Dimarzio, this pick up sounded weak. Im going back to my SD,and staying with Dimarzios from now on.

This pickup is quite misunderstood, so let me start by saying that this pickup has a LOT of presence, so dial that back on your amp or it will just kill your ears, crank your mids and your bass, and adjust treble accordingly. Next, get a noise gate, because once you get loud enough to go over drums, its just gonna be a mess unless you like to ride your volume knob the whole time. And finally, be judicious on your gain knob, mine is on 7 on the crunch channel, and 5 on the lead channel. This may sound like quite the pain in the rear, but the dimebucker can nail the hot rodded Van Halen sound, And if you put it through a tweed, it can do a great blues tone as well, too many people are maxing the gain on cheap practice amps and expecting the Pantera sound, that WILL make this pickup sound bad. Use a Quality tube amp, and a good MAHOGHANY guitar (its what it was designed for) and you will dig this pickup!!

My strat is all blonde ash with a maple fretboard so that doesn't help. Going to replace it with a TB 4 (JB 4 for trm) .
