Comments about Seymour Duncan STK-T1 Rhythm Pickup:

I love tele style guitars, but I hate 60 cycle hum. If you've ever played a gig where the stage power is on the same circuit with fluorescent lights, you know the problem. These SD STK pickups not only solve that problem, but sound good doing it. The STK-T1 has a nice smooth sound, but retains the single coil definition tele players want. This pickup is the match to the STK-T3 bridge pickup, which Nashville studio musician Brent Mason uses. These two pickups match up perfectly.

Comments about Seymour Duncan STK-T1 Rhythm Pickup:

I swapped this out for the humbucker in my 1990s Telecaster Special. Great classic Tele sound. Darker than the bridge pickup without being muddy, just a little throaty. No hum. Cleans up very nice just backing off the volume a bit. Really refreshed an older guitar, re-energizing my playing it. My first Seymour Duncan pickup, really impressed.

Comments about Seymour Duncan STK-T1 Rhythm Pickup:

I put this neck pickup along with the matching bridge TK3 in my Thinline Telecaster and installed 250k Push/Pull Pots for the coil tap option and was very impressed how it maintained that classic Tele tone in all positions and tapped or not. The coil tap gives you the classic Tele sound with still some noise cancelling, thin and bright. In full stacked humbucker it is dead quiet but fuller and hotter, and a little more compressed, but still sounds like a Tele should. I compared mine to a friend's American $1700 version w/ "Noiseless" pickups and this blows it away! Mine is quieter and sounds more like that classic tele sound Im looking for than his did, and I have the tapping option too... He's upset with me... lol.

Comments about Seymour Duncan STK-T1 Rhythm Pickup:

These are great sounding pickups just as they are in standard double coil mode, I agree with other commenters on that. High gain applications are clear as a bell. Stacked humbuckers are a great invention.

But I still want that single-coil sound sometimes (slight hum and all) so I installed a push-pull 250K volume pot for coil switching. It's really worth the small investment in time and money.

The original 3-way switch still works normally in either mode. Just pop up the knob and you're on single coils - very clear, clean and chimey on clean amp settings. If you don't do this you're missing out on a good set of sounds from these pups.

Comments about Seymour Duncan STK-T1 Rhythm Pickup:

I bought this with a STK-T3b and I could not be happier with my 2012 MIM Tele. The stock pups just didn't have the classic twang and sound. These bring back the twang and rythym perfectly, without any of the 60 cycle hum. Didn't have to change the pots, capacitor, or any other wiring. Just swapped them out and instant classic Tele bliss.

              Perfect Pick-up

              By CCOG

              from West Virginia

Comments about Seymour Duncan STK-T1 Rhythm Pickup:

This pick-up gives me pure Tele sound without the 60 cycle hum...it's hotter than the original single-coil pick-up, but it's not "overly" hot...it's a perfect balance for use with my SD Little '59 pick-up I have on the bridge...it was easy to install, and it sounds great!!!...I didn't change the original 250k pots, and I didn't change the tone capacitor...it has all the bite I could ever want just the way it is...if I want mellow I turn the tone knob down...if I want bite I turn the tone up...nothing complicated...one thing to note: if you have a modern mount with the screws in the pickguard you might need a little longer screws than what is in the original pick-up if you want to lower the pickup, because the SD pick-up sits a little higher than the Fender original. #4-40 machine screws 3/4 inch. THIS PICK-UP WILL MAKE YOU SOUND GREAT!!!

              Sweet Pickup

              By Stringbender

              from Florida

Comments about Seymour Duncan STK-T1 Rhythm Pickup:

The hum and buzz from my stock pickups were driving my crazy on stage and in the studio. I installed the STK-T1 pickup in my 2000 American Standard Tele along with the Seymour Duncan STK-T2 Hot Stack bridge pickup. The noise is gone yet I still have that sweet Tele twang! The Bridge pickup has a high output while the STK-T1 neck pickup has a medium output for that mellow gutsy sound. These pickups both have higher output than the stock pickups and give my Tele a tight, HOT sound. I am very pleased with both pickups and will put a set in my MIM Tele as well!

              Great pickup!

              By Telepicker20

              from Minnesota

Comments about Seymour Duncan STK-T1 Rhythm Pickup:

I had this pickup installed on my Deluxe Nashville Tele paired with the STK-T3 and a Fender Vintage Noisless for the middle. It is exactly as described; classic fender tone without the noise. I was very skeptical about these at first but now I am a believer. Keep in mind that these are a 4-wire pickup and standard Fenders are 2 so you may have to reconfigure some things if you mix Seymour's with Fender's. You can hear a very slight hum if you crank all the way up and it is totaly silent where you are, but hardly anything to even mention. I highly reccomend these for all vintage and modern teles. Way better tone than most stock pickups I've used, plus they're noiseless. A winner any way you look at it. Well worth the money.
