The sound quality was good, better than expect to be honest - I only had buzzing if I was in room where I had flourescent lights. My biggest complaints with it were:#1 - No volume control - so if you don't have a EQ pedal or a sound board this might be an issue. I could work around this.#2 - Chord is constantly in the way and if depending on how you pick/strum/pluck and the angle of attack you take you may be tapping or sliding across the pick-up constantly. I couldn't work around this - my pick was constantly hitting the chord. For some this might not be an issue - everyone's style varies, but if you've never had a sound hole pick-up before, you should strongly consider this as part of your selection process and take a close look on how deep your right hand goes into the strings. But again, the sounds was really great, so if I was in a pinch I would definitely use again without hesitation.

I don't know much about acoustic pick-ups or anything, but when I bought this, I really didn't expect there to be so much buzzing! It's just a constant annoying sound that really distracts from the music. I bought this so I could play some shows but the buzz was just too overwhelming and now I have to deal with making sure I'm not too far from the mic that picks up my guitar. Complete bummer. I wish I had dished out the extra 20 to get the humbucker.

Comments about Seymour Duncan Woody SC Single-Coil Soundhole Pickup:
This pickup is great for acoustic guitars without a pickup. It sounds great and it looks great too. There is very little feedback. Its a great product!

Perfect for what i needed..
works perfect for me. I am only learning guitar and dont need the high dollsr version of anything yet, this pickup makes me work harder at correcting errors i make and makes them easy to hear,,lol
Very well made and easy to install and remove..

I usually do not write reviews but, in this case I will make an exception. The hum is so loud I can't even concentrate on my playing. Also, the response from the B string is at least double the level of the other strings. Not a good purchase even at this price. It is essentially useless.
Comments about Seymour Duncan Woody SC Single-Coil Soundhole Pickup:
Think pickup sounds wonderful, once I finally got it in my guitar. Now I had checked the dimensions of my guitar against the directions and everything checked out, yet it still hadn't fit correctly. It took a little elbow grease but it worked. The sound is pretty sweet. I am sure the hum canceling might be a little better, but this works fine for me. If you can't swing the more expensive pickup, this one will do you fine. Make sure that you measure you guitar though...or you too will be wrestling with your guitar...

I bought this single coil for my fender acoustic to play live shows, and for the price this little pick up does the job! There is a buzz, but what do you expect its a single coil?

I seriously don't understand why the ratings are so low on this site, look ANYwhere else, this product is widely respected. Yes, I work with lots of sound equipment for my church like many people. The main reason I got this was because many worship leaders have guitars that don't plug in. Because this would be a product that many members would be using their filthy hands with, I didn't want to get something expensive and too valuable for the church if it were broken or mistreated(which is why I got this one instead of the higher versions). This product WAY BEYOND EXCEEDED my expectations, there's absolutely NO buzzing, and SURPRISING amount of clarity. Even if you have the worst amplification system ever, there's nothing a little EQing could do to make it sound beautiful. Let's just say, if you want something to use for the stage, nothing too expensive, GET THIS NOW!!

We have a Dean Markley Pro Mag and needed another pick up, this one was cheaper so we took a shot? It lasted about a year of weekly giging then quit working. I tried to fix it but let's just say we'll be buying another Dean. lol... Our original Dean is still going strong!

Comments about Seymour Duncan Woody SC Single-Coil Soundhole Pickup:
This pickup has very good sound. I'm using it on my Martin D-28 so I'm picky about how it treats the fine sound of that guitar. And it does very well. The problem is, the volume on the B string (#2) is more than 50% greater than the other strings. I've tried compensating for that on my amp (Crate acoustic) and just picking that string with less force, but that becomes a pain in the butt after awhile. This is almost a great pickup, especially for the price. But that unbalanced sound makes it almost non-usable for my fingerpicking style.
