This case is awesome; beautiful AND functional. Very sturdy and I like the five latches. Dimensions have changed from those published by musicians friend: Height is now about 46 inches, not 42. So it will fit epiphones with those honkin' big headstocks now. Neither does it carry the badge near the handle anymore. They must have listened to past feedback to change those: I read those comments in reviews. That being said, I would have preferred the 42 inch height for my Gibson 335 and to have the badge.

Well built wooden case. The design of the fit is incorrect for a 335 style guitar (the intended body style for this case). The neck support near the heel was about 1/2 inch too high so those headstock was about an inch too high to allow the lid to close. Really bad fit. However I needed a working case immediately, so I opted to modify it rather than return it. The neck support is made of stiff foam, so I was able to slit the velour covering with an exact knife and cut down the "C" shape enough to position the headstock safely. Now it fits and it works. But I had to sacrifice the warrantee to make it work. You guys make cases. GET THIS STRAIGHTENED OUT.

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Hollowbody Guitar Case:

Another suitable title for this review (for the benefit of those whose guitars don't fit in the Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Hollowbody Guitar Case) could be: "The stupid questions are the ones that you don't ask."I have seen plenty of decent cases that just aren't the right size for the instrument. This is a common problem, especially when others are doing the shopping for you or when you shop on line. Boys and girls... heed this advice from your Uncle Patrick: Ask questions before you buy. The more questions that you ask, the less likely you will have reasons to complain (i.e., feel burned in the deal or simply getting ripped off). You could find better items. You could even get the most out of your dollar (or whatever currency you're using). This website has great customer support representatives who will answer questions about their products. One of the customer support folks that I spoke with actually found this case and it was quite a bit cheaper in price. Instead of buying a more expensive name-brand case for my OS Delta King OE-30 guitar, I saved about $30.00 by order the Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Hollowbody Guitar Case instead of the other cases that I considered. This case delivers exactly what I expect: protection for my instrument. (Even though this is a true story, I still want a special discount on my next order!)

Great fit for Epiphone Dot Semi-Hollowbody

By Peter Hanson

from St Louis

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Hollowbody Guitar Case:

I purchased the Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Hollowbody Guitar case after measuring my Epiphone Dot Deluxe guitar. The case showed up looking great and it's a perfect fit for my guitar. The case is sturdy and attractive, it looks better in person than in pictures. It's quite striking and matches the aesthetics of my guitar well.

Other people complained about a glue smell, my case didn't have any evidence of that. The hardware is attractive and works well, no problems with any of the latches or hinges. It comes with two keys for the latch that locks. The lining is a fantastic green color and it's glued in uniformly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this case.

The case showed up without any scratches, scuffs or damage, and shipping was very fast. I'm pleased with my purchase.

Fits Epiphone Dot Studio Semi-Hollow Body Perfectly!!

By Marnie Pratt

from Ohio

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Hollowbody Guitar Case:

Overall, this is a great product. My only warning would be to those who are looking to house a thicker hollow-body guitar. As I said, my Dot Studio fits perfectly, and as far as hollow-bodies go, that's a fairly thin model. I would be careful of thicker models, as they may get pressure put on the bridge or back from all the cushy padding inside. Otherwise - great buy!
Great case! The gold hardware is sturdy, looks nice, and works smoothly, the inside is very plushy, and the guitar sits perfectly inside. It even has a hygrometer inside (which isn't pictured or mentioned in the description), so you can ensure that the guitar stays within a good humidity range.
I've only had it for a few days, but as I said above, it seems very sturdy, and all aspects seem well-constructed.
I debated between this one and the actual Epiphone brand case made for the Dot Studio, and I'm glad I went with this one. Not only did I save myself some money, but I honestly think I got a nicer product.

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Hollowbody Guitar Case:

This is a very nice case; however, if you have a screwdriver, a sharp knife and 5 minutes, you may have to lower the neck rest that is closest to the body of the guitar - simply unscrew the screws, slice +/- 1/4" off of the bottom of the foam rest and reinsert and reinstall the screws - literally took me less than 5 minutes on a LP case that I purchased from the same folks. I will be making the same mod to this case.

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Hollowbody Guitar Case:

I bought this case for my Gibson Johnny A jazz arch top electric guitar, because the original was damaged and you can't purchase a new one separately. I live in Hawaii and we have 20 music stores here and not one of them offers a archtop case for sale. That is why I purchase all my musical instruments and supplies from Musicians Friend. The case fits my guitar well and it feels good when I carry it. It looks better than the original case that came with the guitar. I am buying another one for my ES 335 Custom guitar. I would recommend this case to everyone looking for the real deal.

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Hollowbody Guitar Case:

I bought this to fit a Harmony Rocket reissue. there is a wedge of styrofoam under the top bout which raises the guitar too high. The neck doesn't set onto the neck rests. I had to remove the wedge and cut the first neck rest 1/4" to fit the guitar perfectly. I tried an epiphone case, skb. all didn't fit axactly. If the case was 1/2 " deeper, I wouldn't have had to alter it. one week after buying this case, they reduced the price to 79.99. go figure.

Great plush case apparently fits 335 style thin body semi hollow body guitars the best- Very nice interior and its way better than an Epi Dot case at nearly much less- mine says it's made by Guardian with the Guardian logo on it!- easily a great value in this case- I'm thinking about ordering a second for a spare - It's so nice! Very pleased with this purchase!

            Measurement doesnt include padding

            By Carl Jones

            from NC

            See all my reviews

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Hollowbody Guitar Case:

This is a nice case for the money however: The measurement listed of 43" is from the inside wood to wood and does not include the padding. There is a "cutout" in the padding for the strap button on the end and that is where the measurement was obviously taken. There is no padding on the sides in the headstock area. For a normal 335 style guitar this likely won't be a problem but if you have something like an Epiphone Sheraton, you will have to force the guitar into the case. So if you are looking at this guitar for something with a little longer headstock like the Sheraton, you'll just have to get the Epiphone 335 case as I haven't yet found another case it will fit correctly. Other than that I have no complaint with the case. It is well made for the price and should hold up. The body sets firmly in the case. Thanks Musicians Friend for being so easy to deal in finding a resolution to my problem.

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Hollowbody Guitar Case:

This is a nice case, which delivers exactly what I expect from a guitar case: protection for my guitar along with a storage compartment for the items which would be stored in a guitar case.

If you are looking for any guitar case, I strongly recommend bringing your guitar and making sure that it fits. I also suggest asking questions.
I wish that this case would give me the power to be the truly amazing guitarist, but it's just a case.
            It is a nice case.
I do find it amusing that this case has a lock. With the possible exception of a thief who cannot figure out how to pry open a case, I'm sure that those who would consider stealing a guitar wouldn't be detered by the sight of a lock on the case. If I could save a few dollars by purchasing the case without a lock, I would.
So far, the case seems to be of decent quality.
For a hard case, you probably won't a better price.

            from Florida

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Hollowbody Guitar Case:

I received this case about a week ago; it was better quality than I expected. My guitar hasn't come in yet, so I haven't used the case yet but this is a high quality case I am completely satisfied with. And I would definitly buy one of these cases again. This is not one of those flimsy cases that will comprees or bend with you - it's solid. The workmanship was very good and I really like the emerald crushed velvet interior. On the down side: I thought the interior could be a little softer (no big deal though) I might prefer a solid handel instead of the leather, more flexable one and I would prefer chrome hardward instead of gold but these are very minor complaints and would not stop me from buying one again.

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Hollowbody Guitar Case:

First, it doesn't fit a Loar LH-650. The case is deep enough by the bridge, but at the neck it is about an inch and a half shallower. Even though the specifications check out (4" case, 3.75" guitar), there was no way that guitar was going to fit, even after modifications described in the other reviews. However, it is a beautiful case though, with a chunky padded handle and a very solid shell, for a great price. It definitely will do its job. I would recommend this to somebody with a semi-hollowbody any day, just not a deep hollowbody.

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Hollowbody Guitar Case:

                  Excellent case for the money!

I recently traded one of my guitars for an old hollow-body from the 70s and I needed to buy a case for it. I saw this for cheap and with very good reviews, so I bought it. It arrived very fast with no hassle.

The first thing I did was check for cosmetic defects, the only thing I found was an askew latch. It's not that big of a deal, I just have to add a little strength to force it to close sometimes.

I then tried the lock, and almost decided to sent the case back. It would not lock no matter how hard I turned the key, and I was putting a lot of strength into it. Finally I turned the key as hard as I could. The key bent, but the case locked. I was then able to effortlessly unlock the case. I can now lock it an unlock it with ease, it was just jammed for some reason the first time. I was also able to straighten the key out, so no problem with that either.

My guitar fits in the case perfectly. It is very snug and does not move around in the case. The case itself is also quite study, much higher quality than I expected. The padding is also of a higher quality than I had expected of a case with this price.

The part of the case where the head-stock is located is much larger than it needs to be, and three 20ft cables could easily be stored there. The compartment under the guitars neck is also quite large and I have been able to fit 2 tuners, 2 capos, 2 tins of picks, 3 slides, a string winder, a pan flute, and a harmonica all in there at the same time. This could not be done with any of my other cases.

The only problem is that this case is heavy. With my guitar in it, it's actually heavy than the main amp I use. Whereas my amp is heavier than my other guitar/case configurations. But it isn't too heavy to carry around.

Overall, a great buy. I am very happy with this purchase. Yes, there are better hard-shell cases, but for the price this one is excellent.

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Hollowbody Guitar Case:

I bought this case for my Ibanez Artcore Hollowbody and was impressed to see how well made it was for the price. Do you remember on the old Looney Tunes cartoons when Daffy Duck packed so many clothes in his suitcase that he had to sit on it to buckle it? Well that was nothing. After trying that myself I had to put my entire 400 lb weight set on it and it still wouldn't close. So I took it out to the garage, stood it up against the wall and slowly drove my car forward until it was compressed enough to finally close it. Whew... it was alot of work but well worth the money. I would only recommend this for Gibson ES335 type guitars.
