This case is THE BEST. I own this case and after reading several negative comments by others here I have to offer another different review. The comment about the neck rest being too high is nonsense. When the lid is closed it holds the guitar firmly in place. Removing material on a bandsaw and replacing the plush would cause the guitar to wobble around. The comment about the case not being long enough is also nonsense. This case is for a Gibson Les Paul and not an Epiphone Les Paul which is slightly longer. Epiphone must do this so that their guitar cannot be mistaken for a Gibson. The comment from someone about dropping their case and damaging their guitar is simple. Don't drop it anymore. This case is intended for use between your home base and your destination in a trunk or in a van. Period. It is not intended to be dropped off a truck at 55 mph the same way it is not intended to be waterproof in 100 feet of water. If your guitar was damaged in this way then file an insurance claim, don't blame the guitar case people. By the way, I also like the built-in case hygrometer. I recommend this case for anyone owning a Les Paul sized guitar.

As others have mentioned, when I laid my guitar in the case the neck hovered about an inch above the neck rest by the headstock due to the neck rest closest to the body being to high. I have laid the guitar in cases friends had and never was this an issue. I could reach around the body and feel the body by the neck was also about an inch off of the case. When closting the case it would not close all the way unless I pushed down on the lid. Not sure how much pressure that puts on the neck, but this is not normal despite what someone else has said. I removed the neck rest closest to the body and cut it down which was very easy since it's styrofoam and two thin pieces of wood on the sides. I re-glued the fabric and reinstalled the neck rest. The neck now sits perfectly in both neck rests and the lid closes without putting pressure on the neck. Guitar now sits nice in the case and does not move around. Took about 25 mins to make the modification.

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Single Cutaway Guitar Case:
This is the second Silver Creek case I bought, and also the second review I've left. I was concerned about the neck rest being too high as was stated in other reviews. The one I got required no modifications. The second one I got had the neck rest too high and I had to trim it like others had said. Use a phillips and a razor knife. I took off 1/2" and it was perfect. It took only 5 minutes.

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Single Cutaway Guitar Case:
This case was suggested to me by Musician's Friend Concierge service to fit my Hofner CT club guitar. This case does not fit however. Too shallow. As many have said before, i think I was shipped a Guardian brand, not a Silver Creek. There is no distinguishing markings or tags on the case however. I was assured by the MF customer service that they would not ship something other than what was ordered but it looks like that is not the case. The only saving grace is that MF works very well with helping to resolve these issues and get the case returned.
Pros
- Easy To Carry
- Good Protection

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Single Cutaway Guitar Case:
Very nice case indeed; however, it does require modification to the lower neck rest (closest to the body of the guitar). A screwdriver, a sharp knife and 10 minutes is all it will take to shave 3/8" off of the bottom of the foam rest and reinstall for a perfect fit for your Epipone Les Paul...

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Single Cutaway Guitar Case:
I bought this with my Epi LP Standard - but it doesn't fit. As others have mentioned, the neck rest is too tall, so the guitar rests high in the case, such that when you close the lid it puts pressure on the headstock. I don't want to have to mess around modifying my case, I just want it to fit. So this one is going back.
Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Single Cutaway Guitar Case:
Overall about a C+ in my book. Some assembly required.
Like others have stated, you must trim off the bottom of the middle neck rest and re-install it, because it's too high. This is pretty easy and it doesn't damage the lining, so it's not really a big deal for the average tweaker. Tools required: Phillips screwdriver and pocket knife.
Aside from that: my favorite feature is the lining. It's every bit as plush and velvety as the pictures online. The green color is also very appealing and vintage looking.
The clasps are ok, and the outer lining is ok.
Quality is OK for the money. Not flawless, but not total junk either.
For the money, you can't really complain.

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Single Cutaway Guitar Case:
I was also sent the "Guardian" brand instead of the one shown, and it does NOT fit either the Hofner Club or an Epiphone LP Special. Too bad; it seems like a decent case otherwise, and maybe Gibsons will fit: I don't know. The headstocks on both my guitars are too tall for this case.
Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Single Cutaway Guitar Case:
After reading the reviews, and those of many other cases, I decided to take a chance on this one - Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Lp-Style. As it turns out, I was sent the Guardian brand and, sure enough, my '84 Gibson Les Paul Studio Custom does not sit in it properly. The neck braces sit too high. Looking closely at the picture it becomes obvious - the top of two neck braces in the picture are flush with the top edge of the case. They are about 1/2" higher than the case edge on what I received which causes the neck to hover inches above the front brace (head end), as others have indicated. I just removed the rear brace (body end), and that allows the body to set fully on the cushion and the neck to rest in the front brace with the head close the hygrometer, but clear of it, and holds the guitar firmly in place. Those without a problem got the one pictured, us with a problem did not. Otherwise, a very nice case. I did not deduct points for this "issue", and it was a simple fix.
Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Single Cutaway Guitar Case:
This is the only case that I could find to fit my Hofner CT Club Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar. My Hofner has the same dimensions as a Gibson Les Paul but has a deeper body. The Hofner fits nicely into Gibson style LP cases, but the lids do not close because the cases are too shallow. Cases designed for Epiphone style LP guitars are too big and my Hofner would rattle around in them. This case fits my Hofner CT Club perfectly, nice and snug. The quality of this case is outstanding. The built in hygrometer is nice. The only downside is that I have to remove my heavy 3-inch leather strap before putting the guitar in the case. I plan to put on strap locks to make it easier to put the strap on and off.I would buy this case again if I ever lost mine.
Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Single Cutaway Guitar Case:
First off, the case I got said "Guardian Cases" (totally different brand from "Silver Creek") I think they sent the wrong one! It was way too deep for a Les Paul guitar (more like it was made for a hollow body or acoustic guitar) - it's a shame because it was a very nice looking case, but my Les Paul fit by length and all the rest, however the neck (as mentioned by other reviewers) just didn't rest right. It was impossible! it just lay all crooked and no way to close the case with guitar inside, I put a pillow to fill the extra space but then, why would I buy a brand new case and do that? This case was not made for a Les Paul. Maybe I had bad luck, don't know. Also, the build was a bit lacking, the case is made of plastic and although it looks like quality, it's all superficial. I would stay away from this one. Returned it today.
