Comments about SIT Strings S1150 Medium Light Power Wound Nickel Electric Guitar Strings:

SIT Power Wound strings have been the easiest to bend when compared to other string brands. Bendability is important for my style of music (Heavy Metal) and so is speed. So, being able to play these strings with the ease of a 10-46 gauge string set is a dream come true.

You'll love to EQ these strings through your amplifier because they have a clarity that works well under many settings. And one pleasant thing I noticed was how the treble at my amplifier sounded smoother somehow with these strings. Now, I can unleash all of the cut in the world without actually hurting the ears. This in turn also allows for mid-scooping and still being able to cut through.

Great strings if you want to move up from 10-46 gauge strings safely and smoothly.

Not the best choice for hollowbody vibrato arm guitars.

Comments about SIT Strings S1150 Medium Light Power Wound Nickel Electric Guitar Strings:

I play a hollow body Gretsch 5420 Electromatic through a pair of Fender tube amps and try to get the best possible retro tone I can. I use nickel strings (Gibson Vintage with a wound G). I bought 4 sets of SIT to try. Tuning is very important to me. The first gig was rough as it was in a barn with warm humid air blowing through and temperatures going down. The tuning was rough but I knew the conditions were bad. I tried them at a more regular gig but tuning was a battle all night. I lost. I'm going to stick with Gibson Vintage and with D'Addario nickel. I get compliments at every gig about my tone. I won't try anymore SIT strings. They don't have nice tone and they don't stay in tune well in my experience. Isuggest paying a little more

Comments about SIT Strings S1150 Medium Light Power Wound Nickel Electric Guitar Strings:

I've been meaning to give SIT strings a try for awhile now. Finally did and all I can say is I wish I had started using them a long time ago. EXCELLENT strings. Stay in tune better than any other string I've used. I used a well known brand for years and seems a lot of other musicians did as well. I got tired of tuning after every song. Now with SIT if they're out of tune it isn't by much. My intonation is better, tone is great for my tele and stat. I use the 1150 Power Wound and I am recommended them to all my fellow musican brothers.

Only these strings would allow me to get the tone and intonation setup correctly on my hollowbody.
