The product is customizable so you can cut the foam to fit. It's perforated in small squares so cutting rounded edges was slightly difficult. Its the only reason I gave it a nine instead of a ten. I'm using it to protect a projector and had read a reveiw that mentioned using 3m adhesive for gluing the foam to the case. That worked well. Overall I'm very satisfied.

I bought mine to fit a Pod HD desktop "bean", its AC adapter and assorted cables. Fitting the odd shaped unit plus a slot for the cables required some planning, including lightly tracing the outside of the Pod onto the foam with chalk. That made it a lot easier to remove only what I needed. The next task was to attach the two layers of foam together so it didn't come apart every time I removed the Pod. Some two-sided carpet tape that I tried did not work. It doesn't stick to the foam.
I emailed SKB for a recommendation on gluing the foam together, and they got back to me the same day with: "3M super 77 brand spray adhesive glue is the best to glue foam together, and the foam to the plastic." I happened to have that very thing around the house, plus a fair amount of newspaper and masking tape because spraying glue is bound to get that stuff where I don't want it, like the insides of my cutouts. Perhaps another adhesive may have worked, but I didn't want to go out and buy something else.
After a couple hours of careful masking, spraying and drying I had the results I wanted. I feel that the extra time and trouble to do this was well worth it. I opted NOT to glue the foam to the inside of the case, just the two inserts together. I also took some of the foam bits I removed and glued them to the bottom of the case under the Pod, so it "floats" on the padding all around.
All in all, this is great protection for sensitive equipment, and I will definitely look into buying an SKB microphone case in the near future.
The case is tough on the outside, latches are easy to operate. Inside, there are two removable foam inserts with small pre-cut squares that will stay put until you pinch out what you need to fit your equipment. The top is padded (non-removable), and there is also a thin layer of foam attached to the bottom.
Great value for the price. Replacement foam inserts are expensive, however.

Having purchased SKB cases in the past for guitars, I have come to expect high quality and reasonable prices. So when I was looking for a hard case with foam inserts which could be trimmed to fit the contents being transported, I was pleased to find this offering. I had been considering the Zebracase but the SKB won because it had a lower cost per cubic inch and proven experience.I spent 10 minutes trimming slots for my multiFX unit, spare batteries, and my harmonicas and I'm done. I don't know if I'll ever need another one but if I do--I'll buy SKB
