Just like all of SKB's 3I Series Injection Molded Mil-Standard Waterproof Cases, the 3i-2317-14B-E is constructed of ultra high-strength polypropylene copolymer resin molding, featuring a gasketed, water and dust tight, submersible design (MIL-C-4150J) resistant to corrosion and impact damage. It also features a molded-in hinge; trigger release latch system; comfortable, snap-down rubber over-molded cushion grip handle; an automatic ambient pressure equalization valve (MIL-STD-648C); and resistance to UV, solvents, corrosion, fungus, and impact damage (MIL-STD-810F). To make life easier on your back, arms, and legs, it also comes with four wide set in-line skate style wheels and an industrial-strength injection molded pull-out handle.

Comments about SKB 3i-2317-14B Military Standard Waterproof Case with Wheels:
Great for protecting a bunch of sensitive/fragile gear that did not come with road-ready cases. This houses my multi-function guitar pedal, two Zoom R16 mobile recorders, my guitar wireless gear, our wireless router (for iPad-based mixer) and other miscellaneous small stuff.
The foam comes in layers of about 2" and is perforated so you can break out 1/2" squares. It takes some SERIOUS time to configure the case because you do each layer separately, although once I got the hang of it, it went quicker. If you're spending this much on a case, you'll want to be careful and do it right. Carpenters always say "measure twice, cut once" and then same applies here -- once you've broken foam out, it is difficult to reconfigure by putting it back.
The case, overall, is rugged and sturdy. The wheels are sufficiently heavy-duty and the clasps are secure. You would expect the release to extend/retract the rolling handle to be right on the handle (like it is on most rolling suitcases) but instead it is a small bar, located just under the handle location, that you have to slide to the side -- which is a little frustrating, but workable. The case also has lifting handles on the sides.
Now that I have finished the configuration and loaded it up, it seems like a pretty large case for the amount of gear I have in it, but the protective foam takes up space and that is a small price to pay for the excellent protection.
An excellent solution if you have expensive and fragile gear that needs protection while traveling.
