Recenty I purchased a Yamaha APX-T2 3/4 size hollow body acoustic/electric guitar. The only drawback was that Yamaha does not make a hardshell case for it. I tried cases from several venders and almost gave up until I found this SKB Baby Martin case. This case is designed to fit a Baby Taylor or a Baby Martin. But to my surprise it also fits my Yamaha APX-T2 3/4 size hollow body perfectly. I couldn't be more pleased.

I just got this case today for my Mini Martin. The lid and base don't line up, two of the three latches are not lining up right and their connection to the case is bent out. The handle has the same issue - poor attachement. The case had several SMALL dents around the aluminum rim. To top it off, the SKB sticker was half hanging off. Don't have time to send it back before a road trip. Just have to live with it. Totally disappointed. Not worth the money. Not like the SKB I have for my Dreadnaught. Stick with your gig bag!

Comments about SKB-300 Baby Taylor Case:

This case is perfect for my "Little Martin LX1E". It fits like a glove and there is no room for movement, which is great. It is sturdy and protects the guitar just as it should...

My only complaint - which I only gave it 4 stars - is that when I go to close and latch it shut, it takes some doing to make sure it aligns just right. Its not off by much, but enough that I have to mess with it for a few seconds to ensure that the latches are going to stay securely...

Other than that, I love the case. It is durable and the outer shell can take a beating. The storage compartment is very small - but that's fine. In order to carry my strap around with the guitar, I just weave it around the handle of the case and sort of tighten it, never goes anywhere and that way I can always have my strap on me...

All in all, its worth the $$$ to protect this guitar. I am a little disappointed Martin does not make a hard shell, but what can you do. This case gets the job done. I definitely recommend, just know that it might take some maneuvering to close the lid.

Looks like a good case we'll see how it stands up to the airlines with the Baby Taylor in it when my grand daughter takes it on her next trip. One of the fasteners doesn't seem to seat correctly when closed.

Comments about SKB-300 Baby Taylor Case:

I bought one of these for my Little Martin LX1 and found it to be an amazing case. My wife has a Luna Safari Nylon. I put her guitar in the case and it too fit like a glove. We take the Luna Safari and my Little Martin whenever we go away so we can practice. When you can get one of these on sale what an amazing buy! ONE NOTE: This will only fit the Luna Safari NYLON - NOT the Safari's with steel strings

The storage compartment is small but it is a small case. We can put our straps and capo in the compartment. I can put an extra set of strings in the head section underneath the head of the guitar. On the Luna you do not have room for a set of extra strings. At least not if they remain in the pkg.

We've had not problem with the case closing and in my opinion very well made, sturdy and with the travel guitars the whole pkg is light.

Comments about SKB-300 Baby Taylor Case:

To date (July 2013), Martin does not make a hardcase for the Little Martin. While this case is often considered a Baby Taylor case, it fits the Little Martin like a glove. The case came in what appeared like a very light, black, burlap bag within a larger cardboard box. There were a number of scuff marks on the case itself. While that didn't bother me much (with used it's going to get more), I was concerned it was a used case. Interior inspections suggest it was new but no one can be 100% sure.
As for the case, the hidden storage is rather small approx. 7in x 3in x 2in. It's great to keep your capo, picks, and other minor items, but if you like to store your strap in there, it's going to be a VERY tight fit. I have read that people didn't like how the case rattles when it's close, for lack of a proper fit, however I didn't notice this problem and it seems like my Little Martin is pretty secure in it (I shook it pretty hard for a minute to see if I can hear it move).
Overall I'm happy with the case. It's likely you will be using this as a travel guitar if you bother getting a hardshell case. The last thing you need is announcing to the world it's either a Martin or a Taylor in there and gets it stolen.

Comments about SKB-300 Baby Taylor Case:

This case fits my Martin LXM just fine. It's a tiny bit snug at the bottom but that should help keep things from knocking around. It looks well-made, closes tightly, has no obvious defects, and feels solid. My case shows no sign of the gaps that another reviewer noted. The plush inside isn't terribly soft or rich but it should do the trick.
My only complaints are that the internal compartment is just a bit too small to hold a packet of guitar strings (seriously, why not make it 1cm larger?); and there are only 3 latches, with the top two fairly close together, and if the bottom one gets popped, there's not much holding the case closed. (The locking latch is at the middle.)
Overall, it's pretty much what I expected. No regrets here. Perfect for when I'm afraid I might have to check my travel guitar. Not really that much bigger than a gig bag, either.
