The shaped archtop SKB-61 deluxe guitar case fits a double-horned guitar with built-in bumpers to protect the valance and latches. The latches are reinforced with back plates and won't move. The hardshell case features protective bumpers, full-length neck support, and rigid EPS foam interior (the same quality as found in bicycle helmets) to prevent the instrument from moving.

This is my second SKB SG case, I really liked my first SKB case that I bought like 5 years ago with metal latches. The only reason why I rated it with a 4.5 is because I don't like the new plastic latches although the new model seems more sturdy. Keep the old metal latches, make the neck support actually to support the neck and make the cases in the US! I'm tired of junk made in china...

This case did not fit my SG faded. One side of the case fit fine, the other side was WAY off!The one side cut out for the horns was shifted 1-1/2" towards the headstock! Not just the horn cutout but the entire contour of the body was shifted. I've never seen anything like this before. I would NEVER trust this case because of the fit.Too bad it didn't fit, it is a well built case....

These cases fit my Gibson sg melody maker and my Gibson nighthawk. I have Gibson cases and these were at an affordable price and I feel are much more protective than Gibson standard cases.

So i got my case a little while ago, and i thought i'd post a review on it. It's a sturdy case, with pretty heavy duty latches. But they're huge and plastic, instead of being discreet and metal like in the picture, so i'm assuming SKB came out with a new design. i don't really like the way they look but oh well. my biggest concern, is that because SKB wants to make it fit all styles of SGs, it doesn't have a very snug fit to any of them. i believe it's better suited for Vipers because the left horn comes up much more than necessary. my Gibson SG fits nicely in there, but it's obviously not meant for Gibson style SGs specifically which is a shame. i'd prefer separate cases for separate shaped guitars. besides that, i have a feeling this will last quite a while, and put up with rigorous road travel. seems like a good deal, too bad they can't fit the horns better.

I purchased this case for my Gibson 61 Custom shop ReIssue, to save my custom shop case from road damage. I have noticed my review is the only custom shop 61 REISSUE so far, This case fits it perfectly, built like a tank, And has a lock,and an accessory comparment, SKB Builds high quality cases,it is a little pricey, but you get your money's worth!!

If you've been worrying about your guitar when traveling to and from your gigs or even through an airline...this case is the answer!!! This thing is like an armored car for a guitar. i bought this guitar case today at my local guitar case and immediately i rushed home to test it on my guitar. perfect fit. the only problem is that when you get it, you have to leave the guitar in for overnight to fully mold the styrofoam because the dude says that when the people made the case the styrofoam expands a little. no biggie. exellent quality it is so durable. it holds the guitar in place if you ever bump into anything and the other cases i tried, the headstock rattled and it was under pressure because of the angle of the headstock. the only real problem featurewise is the lack of storage space. i usually carry my marshall ms2 mini halfstack (clips to your pocket type thing) with me, and there is not enough room for it when all my cables and stuff is in it. so beware about storage. the cost was ok, but i think i should have gotten it cheaper. anyway, great case, get it.
