The SKB 1SKB-SCFS6 fits universal shaped electric guitars and offers the superior protection of the very same rigid foam inserts found in SKB's hardshell guitar case line, but with the style and portability of a softshell gigbag or backpack case.
All SKB soft guitar cases feature a rugged, weather-resistant, 600-denier ballistic nylon exterior with a hard-core EPS foam interior to provide more substantial protection than a conventional gigbag.
The SKB 1SKB-SCF56's exterior features two zippered pouches, one with numerous internal compartments for organized accessory storage, and an adjustable padded backpack strap for easy transport. The hard foam interiors are plush-lined and offer full-neck support to cradle the guitar neck more securely than a conventional bag. The SKB Universal Shaped electric guitar case also has 3 rubber feet for standing your bagged instrument on it's side without worrying about it tipping over.

I tried several gig bags from the slightly lower price range that were all junk. Gibson, Fender, and Roadrunner all left me feeling ripped off. Guitars fitting sloppy, poor construction, uncomfortable to use etc. seemed to be the norm. I wanted a case / bag that would protect my guitar and that I could also carry with a shoulder strap so I could carry my 2nd guitar and still manage keys & doors etc. This case rocks! I feel my 56 r strat is better protected in this case than the one it came with. The case fits the guitar like a glove. It's very comfortable to throw over your shoulder. It has great pockets and compartments. I wish I would have bought this one to begin with. I highly recommend it.
So far so good. Seems very durable. The only issue I forsee is if the zipper fails. Don't get me wrong it's a massive heavy duty zipper, but it's the only method of closing the case at all. If it were to bind up or derail the case would be useless unless you were able to replace it. I'm very careful when using them so I'm not worried. Just a word to the wise. Only reason I didn't give it a 10

This case is advertised as a universal guitar case. However, I wonder which universe the guitars come from that fit this case. I own a 1966 Gibson Melody Maker, a 1980's model Kramer Focus 3000 and a BC Rich Mockingbird.
While I've read others here say Fender Strats fit the case, the Kramer Focus 3000 I own has a strat type body and the case isn't designed to fit the body. I didn't really think it would work with the Mockingbird. But,it really disappointed me when the only way I could get the Melody Maker to fit into the case, was to squeeze it in. This particular Melody Maker is a double cut model, similar to an SG.
This case has nice pockets.
It appears to be well constructed.
If you can find a guitar that fits this "universal" case, it might be a good value.

This case combines the best of both worlds (ie, the no-longer-available SKB-type hard, molded cases for a Strat/Tele and the lighter weight but well-padded gig bag. It has an inside compartment for strings and stuff, just as it's molded, hard-case cousin, but additional pockets to stuff a strap or cable or other itens. There are straps to back-pack carry it. I love this thing and it fits my Strat perfectly.

The hard shell within the gig bag offers excellent protection for my workhorse strat. Most gig bags (even quite expensive ones) don't provide adequete protection for the bottom of the guitar-if you set it down that way. This one absolutey does. Several well placed pockets for accessories too. An excellent value-well done SKB!

I picked up this case...works great for my strat and tele...won't fit my jazzmaster,j jaguar or PRS Mira...pretty much cut only for the strat and tele but great protection

Overall i think this case is the best buy, you cant go wrong.
They case is awesome. Its like a hard case within a soft case. I was tempted to get the hard case also by skb, but it didn't have backpack straps and pocket space. This case fits my strat very snug, with no shaking around and still has three pocket spaces, one inside the case where i keep my x2 wireless transmitter, two outside. The one along the neck fits my retractable fender stand perfectly and the other is a pouch with several compartments within. I think this its the best case for the money.

Although listed as "universal" this case is basically Strat shaped. The 2 guitars I wanted to use it for (Les Paul Special and Epiphone Wilshire) did not fit. I suspect that Tele shapes would fit, might even be able to get an SG in there. For a Strat this would be a very nice soft case, I have the Firebird shaped model and love it.

This case is the best I've ever owned in the "gig bag" category, comparable only to my Incase bag which was much more expensive. A tailored fit makes it compact in size and the inner shell blends the protection of a hard case with the convenience and lower weight of a gig bag. The only thing that would make it better is if it was made in the USA. Thank you SKB for making a QUALITY product!
