I have reviewed many sets of strings, to name a few; D'Addario, Pearse, DR's, Gibson, Earnie Ball, Elixir, GHS, PRS, Fender...None rank as high for me as the Thomastik-Infeld Blues Sliders.I use these strings for my Strat, Tele, and Les Paul, playing mostly Rockin Blues, Blues and Classic Rock. The Vintage grumble that I get out of these baby's is second to none (I get good sound from the D'Addario's as well however I find them inconsitent). Soloing with these strings is good, they definitely have a very nice feel and as I said the vintage tone is what I am after.Combining these strings with my Deluxe Strat, TS9, MXR delay, and my Blond 65 Fender Deluxe Reverb amplifier is amazing! For larger gigs sub in a 67 Fender Super Reverb, and your in tone heaven!

These strings feel solid and strong, and the gold finish on the G-B-E looks striking. Having said that, the same gold finish makes them feel very sticky. This is in stark contrast to the smoothly wound lower strings. They do have a bluesy tone, but some players may not like the lack of any bite. They may sound decent on a Les Paul, but in my opinion a Strat needs a sharper attack. They do keep in tune very well, and they are easy on your fingers. Their biggest downfall is the price. Nothing about them justifies paying more than $8 per pack. I recognize the quality, they are just not for me.

Comments about Thomastik SL109 Sliders Light Electric Guitar Strings:

I fully concur with all the other 5-star reviews. In a word, "SMOOOOOOOTH". Outstanding feel, tone and longevity. One tends to get what one pays for and these strings will NOT disappoint. Worth every cent. Fairly sure I'll never play any other brand again.

      Sweet Mellow Gold

Comments about Thomastik SL109 Sliders Light Electric Guitar Strings:

These strings in my opinion are like no other. If you enjoy the deep warm sound of a mahogany guitar then these may get you there. If you think bright isn't always better then give these a try. Tone is clear. Good for slide too.

      Thomastik-Infeld Sliders are Great

Comments about Thomastik SL109 Sliders Light Electric Guitar Strings:

Blues Sliders are the best "blues" strings I have ever used. They are soft on fingers but have a great bluesy tone. You can't go wrong with these!

      OMG! The TONE!

      By Tubeburner

      from Savage, MN

Comments about Thomastik SL109 Sliders Light Electric Guitar Strings:

We search and we spend all in the name of Tone. Start with your fingers, then the strings. These will wake the musical side of your soul. I tried a set on a SRV Strat and a Vibrolux, very sweet. Then a Line6 POD set on Rectified, Drive on max pluged in to a Mac running Garage Band II. I never sounded better, rocking out for 90 min. I have spent huge amounts on pedals, amps, guitars and even picks. I wish I started with these strings! Try the Clayton Ultem gold .72mm picks for a more muted sound and Fender Premium Celluloid in medium for a brighter attack. Now to string up the Les Paul w/Power-Brights. Cool!

      The Best Strings EVER

      By Anonymous

      from Undisclosed

Comments about Thomastik SL109 Sliders Light Electric Guitar Strings:

These strings are worth the extra few bucks. You'll understand when you put em on. The feel of them is completely different. The sweet, sweet tone, and c'mon the g b e strings are freakin gold. These strings are also rock solid. For some reason my low E string (kinda weird) always breaks in the first week I put them on. Every brand I try fails to support my all out rocking I guess. But not these guys. These guys can take a serious thrashing. I will probably ONLY use these strings for the rest of my life, or until something better comes around, which is highly doubtful.

Best guitar strings on the market!

      By PGB

      from Walnut Creek, CA

Comments about Thomastik SL109 Sliders Light Electric Guitar Strings:

I bought these after I noticed that my guitar teacher's guitar strings sounded different than mine; they sounded better. The strings I owned before were some fender stings. The strings I use now (Thomastik-Infeld Blues Sliders, which is what this review is for) are far better. When you buy them, you will notice something special: the G, B, and high E strins look like gold. Anyway, this is the best product on the market if you're looking for guitar strings.

Comments about Thomastik SL109 Sliders Light Electric Guitar Strings:

I had been looking for good strings for a long time... Ernie Ball, GHS, Everly, Kerly, Fender. I had the same experience with all of them, they all oxidized, went dead, or broke within a month. I decided to try the TI's for the heck of it, these strings FELT better, before I put them on the guitar I could tell they were quality. The wrapped strings were VERY flexible and silky smooth. I had my first set on for 6 months! There was not even a hint of oxidization or loss of tone! The only reason I changed them was because fear that 6 month old strings had to be near breakage. The 2 subsequent sets have lasted just as long and worked just as well! They also stay in tune with heavy bending much better than the other brands I had tried.

      Thomastik String the BEST

Comments about Thomastik SL109 Sliders Light Electric Guitar Strings:

The best tone of all electric strings I have ever used. They are expensive, but you get what you pay for. They are also very durable. I use these on Fender Stratocasters and would highly recommend these strings to anyone.
