The sticks of current and future drumming stars.
American Hickory dowels have to meet very strict quality characteristics to become a Vater drumstick. Vater only uses dowels that have a specific moisture content, straightness and grain structure, to produce a higher quality drumstick.
These Vater American Hickory Los Angeles 5A Drumsticks are formed from hickory—the most popular drumstick material. Hickory is dense and strong so it is resistant to chipping and breaking. Stronger than maple, it also absorbs a lot of shock. As a result, these sticks lessen wrist and hand fatigue while playing.
Vater guarantees their drumsticks to be straighter, more consistent and of higher quality than all other leading drumstick manufacturers. 100% of Vater’s drumsticks are manufactured in the USA. All Vater Drumsticks are tone and weight matched by computer analysis.

Comments about Vater American Hickory Los Angeles 5A Drumsticks:
I've mostly been using many brands of 5b for several years, and I just switched to 5a and tried three types. I used these for two hours and the tip broke off about an inch down. The same happened to my promark 5a's. I'm not sure if it's my playing or just happened to get bad ones. However my Zildjian 5a's have been going strong for about 15 hours so far. These Los Angelos sticks are a little front heavy, but still feel fairly balanced. I didn't really like the tip shape, it's kind of bulky and dark sounding compared to others, but that's subjective. But if you like sleek lighter sticks these aren't for you. I wish I could have tried them longer, but for this price I don't think I'll buy them again. For almost 3.00 less my Zildjian sticks have lasted longer and are lighter/sleeker.
