They come opened up in the little long zip bag so watch bending the braids when you first take them out.

      Comments about Vater Poly Brush:

Let's face it, no matter what you do, wire brush strands tarnish over time, and they get that nasty black residue on all your drum heads and cymbals. Based on that problem, I gave these brushes a shot. The sound is a bit softer than wires sound. But no more crooked, bent, tarnished strands that you have with wire. Nice flexibility with the diameter of poly used, but not sloppy or overly soft. They will not be as stiff as wire obviously, but they still produce nice sweeps and slaps, articulation is great. It lets you play relaxed and use the whole head surface, which in of itself, is a plus. Good cymbal attack too. Grip and balance are very good. Retracting is simple.
