Comments about Aguilar DB 751 975W Bass Amp Head:

As far as I'm concerned, this is the best amp on the planet. True, it's pricey and not terribly portable - compared to today's standards, but in my opinion, it's worth double the price and twice the weight!

Listen, there are plenty of loud amps available; the better ones are 2/3 or 3/4 of the price of a DB 750/1. But none of them comes close to touching the over all tone of this Aguilar beast.

What sets this apart from run-of-the-mill amps, is something that I call "grip". Sure, many amps are capable of blaring loud sounds with semi-OK lows, but the Aguilar 7510/1, coupled with capable cab(s), will give you that volume (and more) without the "blare". The low end is intense, but controlled, even at insane volumes. To my ears, that's the "grip"; where the cab's speakers are totally controlled by the amp's push AND Pull - many amps push, but few pull the cone back in an elegant, controlled manner like this amp. And it does so very effortlessly. It's like Arnold bench pressing 50 lbs (back in the day) - ho hum.

You simply have to hear it to believe it.

While I understand the appeal of Class "D" amps such as the AG 500, Tone Hammer, and others, there is nothing that, to my ears, comes close to the magnificent tone of the DB750 - at any volume.

The tube pre-amp lets you dial in the exact tone you want, while the solid state amplification section simply amplifies that sound - perfectly.

It's not the most portable or convenient amp out there, but it's definitely the best sounding amp I've ever heard - by a mile.

    Awesome amp!

Comments about Aguilar DB 751 975W Bass Amp Head:

This is a truly awesome amp! my band was playing at a ribfest and I couldn't bring an amp powerful enough because I just had a 15 watt combo. They had this amp onstage with the 410 Aguilar cabinet. When I played, I got some of the best bass tone I have ever heard! it was awesome just to be able to play such an amp, and I had no problems during the entire hour long set(and I have a pretty heavy attack). The only reason I gave it an 8 is because I feel that the price is a ridiculous price to pay for an amp, and even for a guitar I better be impressed! overall, I was pleased with the tone, no problems, but not worth the money. I would've priced it at less.
