OVERVIEW

Same huge Ampeg sound in a tiny package.

The Micro-CL 100W 2x10 MIni Bass Stack from Ampeg delivers the look and sound of "classic" Ampeg that you've heard in countless recordings, TV shows and concerts on a miniaturized scale. Let's face it. If you could keep your full SVT stack in your living room you would. With the MIcro-CL it's not only possible, but plausible. Ampeg took their Classic SVT rig, the sonic reference point by which all other bass amps are measured, and made it manageable and functional. It pumps out 100W of power at 8 ohms from its solid-state head which is perfect for smaller gigs and rehearsals. The Micro-CL delivers the unique sound that bass players all over the world have come to expect from their rigs. Featuring classic Ampeg grille cloth, Tolex and trim, you can spot an Ampeg SVT rig from the other side of the stadium or the other side of the living room.

Ordered a re-stock version (it's like brand new!) of this amp to save some $$ and it was delivered 5 days later! Couldn't wait to get it unpacked and plugged in. I had originally purchased the Ampeg BA-108 and it wasn't near loud enough for jamming with electric guitars IMO.

But THIS amp will do nicely and it sounds great. Has a warm sound when using the neck pickup and a super punchy / bright sound using the bridge pickup. Sounds great when slapping!

Overall couldn't be happier with the sound and price and it looks cool too! Here's hoping my wife doesn't notice the new addition.

The micro-cl looks cool and delivers a pretty good rock bass sound in a surprisingly light and portable package. However, try before you buy as there appears to be QC issues with the stock speakers and 2x10 cab. My cab out of the box had to be replaced--a speaker sounded blown right out of the box or was not wired correctly. The micro-VR with the 2x10 emminence cab is probably a better way to go if you can afford it want the ampeg sound in a small package. But this works fine if you are a guitar playing fooling around or a beginning bassist.

Comments about Ampeg Micro-CL 100W 2x10 Mini Bass Stack Black:

This thing is fantastic. I was in the market for a practice amp, since I didn't want to lug around my bigger rig to and from practice. This beauty, pushing 100 watts, surpassed the sound quality I was hoping for significantly. The only major downside I can find if that it doesn't have it's own Direct Input, which makes it a little difficult to simulate my main tone. It doesn't respond as warmly to my Low-B as much as I'd like. But realistically for the price paid, I can't complain.

The tone is as fantastic as anything you'd hear from ampeg. You get an overkill of volume for full band practice and plenty for smaller gigs. A nice plus is the head makes for a great backup in the event that your main rig fails. If you need a loud portable rig for practice or small venues that pushes a good tone, I'd highly recommend weighing in on this.

Comments about Ampeg Micro-CL 100W 2x10 Mini Bass Stack Black:

This is a terrific amp in a small package. The micro size is, for lack of a better word, ADORABLE. Typically that's not what I look for in a bass amp, but in this case it's great. It's got the nice, classic Ampeg look, but it's supremely easy to transport, takes up virtually no room on a small stage, and looks nice in my house. And yeah, it SOUNDS GREAT, too. It has way more depth for such a small amp, with the perfect amount of punch for slapping. Plenty of volume for playing with a drummer. The EQ is a typical simple 3-band, but it works fine to get whatever tone you prefer. Works great with my P and J basses and actually suits my upright really well, too. There are no real accoutrements to it (aside from the play-along aux in function, which I doubt I'll use much). It's just a really good small bass amp with a sound you'd never expect to come from something so diminutive.

Great for practice, jammin with the band, or small gigs. True Ampeg sound quality. Never leave for a gig without it. For a large outdoor venue, need to plug into a PA anyway. Big sound, small package.

Amp has a problem. Speaker cab with Gaillen-Krueger 200W head and 1-15 cab rattles stuff in the room. Haven't practiced with band yet. Light weight and easy to move. That's what I was after.

Comments about Ampeg Micro-CL 100W 2x10 Mini Bass Stack Black:

Try as I might, I can't think of anything I don't like about this amp. For it's size, it cranks, has great sound, has strait forward well thought out controls, and the variable aux input for iPods, and other music sources makes it a great tool for practicing.

If I played big venues, it would be way too small, but for bars, jamming with friends, practice etc, I love it. It looks cool too.

Oops, just thought of one thing I'd change.....I'm not crazy about the plastic input jacks, though they haven't failed me yet, they seem kind of cheap for a relatively high priced amp.

The amp is good, but it would be nice if there was another speaker cabinet that could be added so you can crank up the volume higher.

Comments about Ampeg Micro-CL 100W 2x10 Mini Bass Stack Black:

Great little amp. Awesome sound. Been needing an amp big enough to stay with the guitar and drumer, but small enough to move. Two speaker cab is the way to go, sound is sharper and smoother then with a single speaker. Also a great amp head for individual practice.

I find this amp has a very great tone. And the separate AUX volume control is very good when you're playing alongside a track on your ipod. This is definitely well worth the money. For someone who uses a fair amount of effects and plays heavy music, I was able to get a very good tone for that rather easily. I couldn't recommend this amp more. The active pickup input is definitely a very nice addition.
