Comments about Ampeg SVT-610HLF Bass Cabinet:

Fantastic cab. I tried this along side a Mark Bass cab, a David Eden cab and an Ampeg 410. They weren't even close. This thing PUMPS. I too had an 810 on the wish list but the size of the 810 didn't make it appealing and when I finally tried an 810 I thought the 610 smoked it. I'm playing a Musicman Stingray 5 through an SVT 3 pro into this and I'm more than happy. Solid construction, great handles and classic looks are pluses. The only downfall I find with Ampeg cabs is the vinyl covering, cabs I've owned in the past peel/tear easily if bumped when loading. A cover is a must. HIGHLY recommended cab, do yourself a favour and GRAB ONE.

Comments about Ampeg SVT-610HLF Bass Cabinet:

OK, so I'm up against 2 guys with half stacks and my brand new 410 SVT just ain't cuttin' the mustard. So I return it and pay $500 more for the 610 HLF. It made all the difference in the world. I'm puttin' 1200 watts to it and I'm getting an incredible low end and also the volume by playing needs require. The best part though, is the transportation factor. It basically has a built in hand truck along with 2 side carry handles so I'm ready to go while the dudes are still fumbling with their bulky, awkward equipment. I've been playing with it for awhile now and don't have one bad thing to say about it.

SVT610hlf

Comments about Ampeg SVT-610HLF Bass Cabinet:

I've owned my svt-610 for a little more than three years now, and I'm still impressed. Its' lighter and takes up less space than the svt-810, and still performs great. The only problem I have had with it is the "fart" sound you get when you turn it up past a certain point and strumming low notes. Great sounding cabinet nonetheless!!

Oh yeah!!

Comments about Ampeg SVT-610HLF Bass Cabinet:

Now I knew ampeg cabs were the best but not until a few weeks ago did I have any idea which one I was going to buy. Of course most people figure just buy the 810 because its big and loud but I wanted to see the difference between a 610 and 810 cause they are about the same price. We ran both the 810 and the 610 through a svt4 with the same settings and same bass and the difference was almost shocking. The 610 just crushes the 810 plain and simple. Yeah it might not be as loud but it doesnt mean its quiet by any means. This thing can crank. As soon as I heard the difference I was sold with the 610 the tone is amazing all 810 owners should really switch over cause there is no way it sounds as good as this thing.

The Darkhorse of Ampeg

By Nicka-fDOGO

Comments about Ampeg SVT-610HLF Bass Cabinet:

Usually, it's always an 810HLF sitting underneath an SVT 4 PRO head. But when I got that exact setup it just didn't have the fidelity that wanted in a bass rig. So, I paired up two of the 610HLF cabinets underneath the SVT 4 PRO and it will peel the paint from the walls before it tears them down! The horn in the cabinet is very crisp yet not overbearning and the voicing of the cabinet is alittle more bottom heavy compared to the 810HLF and not as midrangy as the 410HLF.If your looking for something alittle out of the ordinary and can get into one of these cabs I would suggest it highly! Hell, buy a pair and watch the face of any guitarist as he reaches back to his Marshall and finds he's peaked out while you've still got headroom for days!!

6x10 great for size, not for price

Comments about Ampeg SVT-610HLF Bass Cabinet:

The Ampeg 610 cabinet has a great sound but is somewhat lacking when compared with the 810. I've played it with an SVT-4PRO and an Ibanez 6 String BTB bass (active pickups) and it does sound good, but lacks the overall power you get from the 810. And for only 50 bucks less than the 810, it's simply not worth the savings by any means, unless you simply cannot afford the room to house the 810 - the 610's only advantage is its smaller size.

get the 810 or pro 410

Comments about Ampeg SVT-610HLF Bass Cabinet:

I had a 610 before the 810. The 610 hits all frequency's but isn't really great at any of them. Aside from massive low end the new 810 has the option of running as 2 410s so you can run a bi-amped or stereo rig with two heads or just use half the cab if its to loud for the room. If you play rock or metal and normally mic your cab the 810 without a horn is better because you get your highs sounding good threw the PA or on a recording(which is what matters right). If the 810 is to big check out the pro series 410 a buddy of mine has one and it sounds great, better than the 610. And if you get classic series cab and you gig alot I would recommend a roadcase because the grills are cloth and the vinyl stuff tears, I put my 810 in a roadcase the week I got it and it looks brand new after 3 years and is easier to move when layed down and rolled on 4 wheels.
