Sounds great. Versatile. Cheap. Very Quite if need be. Great Quality. Dont give any other company your money. Buy it.
Two channels at this price is amazing most amps in this price have one channel and have one Mid. gain sound. This amp can get a high gain metal O.D, a crystal clean and anywhere in between. Thats not all, once you have chosen the desired gain amount you can use the ISF to shape your sound from a tight less mid-y American sound to a softer British character. Fender Cleans? Got it. Vox Cranked Grit? You bet. Marshall Crunch? Yes. Mesa Boogie High Gain Saturation? With Ease. This amp has a giant palet of tones to chose from. The only reason I didnt give this amp a 10 here is because it has no Reverb, if you want reverb just buy the HT-1R so thats not a big deal. The Emulated out is great for direct recording, and the Speaker Out and Line in are Nice additions.
No problems here. Just as my Blackstar HT-20 this amp has flawless construction and build quality. Only complaint here is the Plastic Speaker Jack but that can be expected of an amp of this price.
An awesome buy.

This amp sounds great! Unfortuntely, after having it at home only and barely using it for 3 months,it died on me. These things happen, but I am now after multiple attempts to contact Blackstar to get it repaired under warranty...past the warranty period. Blackstar never contacted me back. Usually you can check tubes etc,but this amp tells you not to open the back, there are no user serviceable parts. I do not have a Blackstar repair center anywhere near me so I don't even know what to do with it. Disappointing. Not on Mfriends part, but Blackstar.

Comments about Blackstar HT Series HT-1 1W 1x8 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp has just about every basic sound you could be looking for, minus effects. It has a little bit of noise on the high gain, however, some premium tubes might solve that problem. Until then, a noise suppressor works just fine. The sound is the big issue with this little amp, it is outstanding! It is loud and proud and clean and mean! I would put money on it against a Marshall 1w amp any day and bet money it would come out on top 99% of the time. Clean cleans and wicked dirty growls at a third the price.

Comments about Blackstar HT Series HT-1 1W 1x8 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Man am I impressed! This amazing little amp is perfect for my home studio. Spoiled from playing my friends' Orange equipment, I was looking for that high-output tube sound. The ht-1 delivers exactly what I was looking for.

I'd been planning to lean heavily on the Guitar Rig (tube emulation) plugin in Pro Tools, but the HT-1 will be far superior with its line out.

After running it through my Carvin 2x12 speakers, I'm convinced the HT-1 would serve for loud, full-band jam sessions and shows, if you're comfortable with using your guitar's volume control instead of a footswitch.

Playing my custom Carvin CT6 through this thing makes me feel like a teenager driving a Ferrari--the sound is worthy of a much better guitarist (I've always been primarily a bassist).

My only concern is if I should've gone ahead and dished out the extra 50 bucks for reverb, even though I prefer to handle all of this in Pro Tools. When I'm just playing around, I'll run clean through my Carvin sx300, picking up its effects and reverb as desired, then into the Blackstar, then back out into the carvin's 12's.

If you have a laptop recording rig, you could use the HT-1 as a mobile monitor (via the unaffected line-in) if you wanted to.

It is a truly versatile, portable, and absolutely satisfying amp.

If you're using a solid state amp, do yourself a favor. Pick up an HT-1 when MF emails you one of those 20% off codes, like I did. Combined with the rebate, it amounted to a sweet 75 dollars off, but it's worth the full price.

Comments about Blackstar HT Series HT-1 1W 1x8 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I moved into a temporary place for a few months for an internship so most of my gear was on one side of the country and the rest of it was somewhere else. I had just spent money I didn't have on a 72 tele custom(great scratch and dent deal on MF) and needed an amp fast. Found one of these things today at a local store brand new for cheap and took it home immediately. This thing cranks for 1 watt. If I played it full volume for long my neighbors would call the cops. I can get the sweetest most perfect cleans out of this thing. They're buttery smooth out of the bridge pickup on my tele with a slight gritty breakup in them when i strum or pick hard. Great for the outlaw/oldschool country/americana/southern rock stuff I do. I haven't really cranked up the dirty channel much but I know it will go about as far as I need it to. This thing is a tiny little package that packs a mean punch and can go anywhere.

I only play guitar as a hobby. I wanted an all tube amp but didn't want to spend too much and don't need huge power. This amp fills the bill nicely. Plenty load for practicing at home. Has a very nice all amp sound. Everything seems good quality. At times I run a multi-effects peddle and it gives me all of the options that I want.

If you want that hot, overdriven tube sound at a manageable volume, this is a great amp. I like to practice with a dry, unaffected sound, since it increases your picking and definition, and this amp is perfect for doing that, because the warm tone will make you forget about reverb and other effects. If you tilt it back so it faces you or put it on a stand, it should be plenty loud enough for anything you want to do in a personal practice situation.

Comments about Blackstar HT Series HT-1 1W 1x8 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Good tone for a practice amp, limited eq capabilities make getting that precise valve tube tone you may be looking for difficult or impossible to achieve without added pedals, but overall easy to use and the best tone I've had from a practice amp before. This thing can get loud enough to bother close neighbors but still sounds good at lower volumes.

Comments about Blackstar HT Series HT-1 1W 1x8 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I'm giving it 5 stars for value at it's current price. I've had the amp for about two months now and have a pretty good grasp of it's strengths and shortcomings. For home use, it's fantastic.

            Good:
Affordable. Small. Portable. Tube warmth. It's a great home practice amp and a great pedal platform. It might seem silly to run a large pedal board thru such a small amp, but realistically, I don't need to run a large amp at home. I still do at times, but I find that the HT-1 provides me all I really need at home. On it's own, it's fairly average. The clean channel doesn't get very loud and there are limited eq options. Add a boost (I'm using an Xotic EP) and this thing becomes a different amp. You can maintain full rich clean sounds at loud volumes. It loves pedals. I run it as a clean platform and use pedals for all dirt and effects. I haven't tried an eq pedal with it yet, but will be adding one to give me some more tonal variety. It's a simple amp, but works great. I like the 8" speaker, but it sounds great thru my 112 cab too. Sometimes I find a 12" speaker too much for home, so the 8" is nice...a 10" version would be ideal. The ability to get edge of breakup sounds (with gain and volume knobs) from the amp alone is a nice touch.

            Bad:
Limited eq options. Won't fill a large room with sound. Needs a boost pedal to really make it come alive.
