I have used this pedal for a few years in live performances. I use it to control volume for strings, organ, horns etc in a multi keyboard set up. I just bought another so I could keep one hooked up with my rig at home and have one to take to gigs. Some say it isn't durable. I haven't had a problem so far but I don't treat it like a stomp box either.

It's not expensive and very light pedal. GoodBut it's not well balanced. It can work in a decent way as a volume pedal. But does not work as an expression pedal. It's like... vol 1, vol 2,...and go straight to vol 7. Nothing smooth.Buy a Ernie Ball. I have both.

    Weighs little, does a lot

Comments about Boss FV-50H Stereo Volume Pedal:

Some unusual advantages here, compared to most passive volume pedals: Weighs < 1 lb. (and feels even lighter); stereo throughput (good for keyboards); and minimal tone suck.

Has the same abrupt taper as most volume pedals -- active or passive -- but its "minimum volume" knob helps you tweak this: You can set the pedal's heel position to provide anything between zero volume and full volume (= no cut from toe position).

This simulates a more-gradual taper/response, if you can live with a heel position that doesn't entirely cut out your sound. E.g., set the heel position to your basic rhythm-guitar volume level, then rock forward to the toe position for solos.

The Interwebs claim that you can use a TRS cable, plus a standard patch cable, to make any passive volume pedal work with an expression-pedal input. I haven't tried that yet with this one. But I like it -- perfect for my needs.

Comments about Boss FV-50H Stereo Volume Pedal:

This is the second FV-50H that I've owned. Don't let the light weight and plastic construction sway you. The first one I owned lasted 39 years so the durability is there as long as you're not a "Metal Monster". I tried an Ernie Ball….too big…too heavy…and I didn't like the fact you lost all sound when you backed all the way down. The volume adjustment on the FV-50H is an outstanding feature. Plus, the FV-50H is small enough to fit on any pedal board. I average 75 gigs a year, so it gets plenty of use.

Tone sucker. The minimum volume knob is useless, it's either off or on.

              Not a bad pedal

              By OneSideZeroo

Comments about Boss FV-50H Stereo Volume Pedal:

I have this pedal, and the Ernie Ball one. The one thing I like about this one that my Ernie doesn't have is that volume nob on the side. It makes it much easier to put that nob at like 4 and kick the pedal down just to back of a bit, than it is to play with the nob on the guitar while trying to do a lead.

i just recently purchased this pedal and i thought it would be quite useless off the bat. so far, i've come up with some nice uses for it in my music and definitely see the possibilities to do much more.
