This is a great littel Tremolo pedal. Sounds decent, is quite versatile, easy to use, and the buffer is very good also. Boss has fixed the volume drop the older units had, and now has a trim pot on the circuit board that will allow the volume to be set to whatever volume desired. I prefer my Tremolo volume a little over unity so I adjusted mine. The features, sound, and price, make this an excellent value. Don't let the low price deter you because this little Trem pedal can hold it's own even against many higher priced units.

I own a Fender Hot Rod delux amp. I wish it had a tremelo. I searched for a tremelo that could come as close as possible to the "Fender tremelo" sound. I was excited when I found this one. It's solid and you can change the wave shape, speed and intesity. It sounds great and it gets pretty close to the real Fender tremelo sound. I thought that my search was over. Sadly it wasn't. The only thing that I dislike about this pedal is the fact that it causes my volume to drop out when you turn it on. I thought I had it in the wrong order in my pedal line up. I switched it around, tried it by it's self. I tried fresh batteries and the Boss AC adaptor. Same result of volume loss. I've never abused this pedal and assume it's working correctly. I can't use it for gigs because of this problem. I replaced it with an EHX Wiggler. NOW my search is over. Check out the Wiggler before you buy this pedal. If you are a real tremelo fan. You'll be glad to wait and save up a few more pennies to buy the Wiggler. The next sound that will be comming from my Boss TR-2 is the sound of it hitting the bottom of the trash can.

Wow what a great pedal. The day I got it I played it for hours and I still have a hard time switching it off. From Born on the Bayou to whatever you could imagine this extremely powerful pedal will be sure to fill your bill!

Comments about Boss TR-2 Tremolo Pedal:

Currently performing in stage band for the musical, "Happy Days." Score calls for tremolo in several places, and it really adds to the fifties-era sound we're going for. And NO power drain, as reported in some other reviews. The TR-2 is one of the best of the 6 Boss pedals I've purchased.

Boss TR-2 Compares to my amp tremolo, more versatile

        By PepeStrat

        from New England

Comments about Boss TR-2 Tremolo Pedal:

In the final analysis, it beats my Peavey Delta Blues tremolo, which I think has a better vintage vibe than Deluxe Reverbs I've A/B'd. Both had volume drop, 2007+ TR-2s don't. Previously had a Danelectro Cool Cat Trem, which was good, but true bypass on/off had a very audible click. It also introduced a noticeable treble & volume boost. None of those issues w/the Boss. There a many boutique trems out there, w/more features & tweakability. The TR-2 covers all of the ground I'm looking for.
I'm mostly a vintage style trem guy, occasionally like a harder chop. This'll do it. Won't do the hardest of helicopter chops but that's OK. Covers the spectrum of useable (for me) speeds. NO volume drop (unlike my amp) and tonally transparent.
Standard Boss quality, which most folks agree, is long on durability.

This pedal will be a key component of all you tones
        2 Words.....buy it.
        This is my favorite pedal.
I have owned it about 1 month now and it is awesome.
It stays on all the time.
Set this pedal to 10:00 on the depth at a fairly slow speed and leave it on all the time.

I gives a 3rd dimension to your tone.
Warning: There is no turning back after you use this pedal.

        Strong effect. Nice pedal

        By Geoff Battick

        from Maine, USA

Comments about Boss TR-2 Tremolo Pedal:

This is a solid pedal and a great way to add tremolo to your amp if it does not already have it. The sound is solid and strong and does not wash out like my Marshall pedal does when chained in a pedal board. The adjustment range is fine and it does not seem to tone suck at all. Great value IMHO. Surf, 60's rock, go for it!
Only had it a few days.
Cheaper than buying a Vibrolux or the like.

        fits on my pedal board
This pedal is to give me that tremolo/vibrato effect that is lacking from my Music Man amp.
Easy to use. Simple knobs and settings. I'm a plug in and go guitar player.
built to last, easy to use
on sale for $99, you can spend alot more or less, the cheap pedals are not FULL sounding as TR2
the expensive ones are not practical on a simple pedal board

Just save your money and getting something worth it
Just save your money and buy a Fulltone SupaTrem. You'll be so much more satisfied. It is a simple yet amazing trem pedal that you'll keep on your board until the day you die.

        Tone suck when its on!

        By Charles Bermani

        from Salem, MA

Comments about Boss TR-2 Tremolo Pedal:

If I had endless money; would buy a nice Tremolo. But I'm poor, so I got this. Its the best for the right price. But the tone suck, is really annoying. I have a EQ pedal after this pedal in the chain, and click it on when I have the tremolo on. It will suck your sound right out. But if you use a couple tricks to correct it. ITs cool.
Tone suck. Use a volume pedal or EQ with this, or lose your tone.
It does not always engage when press. Its is my only pedal on my board that I have to double check to see if its on when I press it.
Look hard for a cheap one; because the new price is too much.
