Comments about Danelectro Hodad DH-1 Mini Amp:
The vibrato and echo features are over the top for a unit this size. Gets good volme and overdrive with the use of the DC adapter. This is a great upgrade from the Hodad II! Plus, al my mini amps look cool on myshelf!

I am a bass player primarily but play just enough guitar to be dangerous. My Telecaster sounds great through this little devil!

I bought this amp just out of curosity. Plus I had a 25.00 credit.
I glad I did. I am currently on lock down in a one bedroom apartment in NOME ALASKA. It was sunny out yesterday and it was minus 50 below zero. Long story short I dont go out much.
This amp sounds much bigger than it is. I wish they made a 20 watt model, I would buy it.Perfect for a road trip.
If you want to have a 60s FLASH BACK buy this amp. You can get your groove on anywhere.
KEEP ON JAMMIN.

Comments about Danelectro Hodad DH-1 Mini Amp:
Since my last review I have been playing my Gibson Dobro Lectric through this little jewel... It has both a P90 and cone mounted Fishman acoustic pickups on it and I was very pleased at the quality of the sound using one or the other or both.. Playing with the volume knob at full tilt and a small amount of gain using the acoustic pickup produces an amazingly clean acoustic sound but not very loud. Turning up the gain and adjusting 50 50 between the 2 pickups is a nice mix of clean overdrive and full tilt gain and the P90 and I get great sustain which is a lot of fun for me since I only play slide.
Comments about Danelectro Hodad DH-1 Mini Amp:
I have yet to use a guitar with this enjoyable toy because I bought it to play harp with... I like everything but I could live without the reverb and the echo features though I can get a decent slap back effect with the echo setting and with the tone set on the low side I can tame the reverb down a bit... The overdrive available by turning up the gain knob is great and using less of it results in a clean sound that is great for playing straight harp accompanying acoustic guitars and vocals....A reverb adjustment screw like the echo has would make this a much better value for anyone that uses reverb.. Overall I have to admit that it has gotten used a lot in the week or so that I have had it and I am very glad to own it.
Comments about Danelectro Hodad DH-1 Mini Amp:
I bought this to play blues harp through and it sounds great. The "reverb" (slap back) and "tremelo" effects are excellent and unheard of at this price. This amp is plenty loud enough to play harps with while jamming with a band. I miked it through a PA system and got a huge cool sound. I've also plugged my Telecaster and acoustic electric guitar through it for a nice jamming or low volume band practice sound. A great value for $49!
Comments about Danelectro Hodad DH-1 Mini Amp:
When I was looking for a small amp to use while deployed I looked at the Fender,Vox,Marshall, little smokey. I found for the price the Dano Hodad kicked their ass with options. It reminds me of my twin reverb. It has an echo effect that really sounds good and the vibrato is so cool and adjustable. they can be used together too! The Sound quality is really unbelievable especially with headphones on. The over drive makes amp sound like a big one and can really crunchy and full sounding. the power supply isnt expensive if youd rather use it than the batteries but I've been getting around 3 weeks out the the 9volt especially when i use the headphone. My friends deployed with me think the amp is so cool they even took pictures with it.I recommend it especially for those who travel. it takes almost no space, keeps you quiet and really jams...any questions email ricklaptop@yahoo.com
Comments about Danelectro Hodad DH-1 Mini Amp:
It is by far the best mini amp I have heard or played out of. It is what it is (a mini amp not quite 6 inches wide and not quite 5 inches tall) so it is not going to sound just like your favorite tube amp. It does sound very, very good for what it is. The non adjustable (except for on/off) echo effect sounds slightly reverb, slightly delay, and slightly slap-back all in one. The adjustable tremolo is great and using it does not effect the volume like on most amps. The gain is fine and offers a variety of distortion. The frequency response of the speakers is good and very good using the low notes on the A and E strings. It sounds unique and you find yourself making things up on it that you would not come up with otherwise. It actually is a functionally fun to play mini amp.
