Comments about Diago LS01 Little Smasher 5W Guitar Amp Head:
I got one of these thru an online deal. I wasn't expecting much. I already own a Tweaker Head, a 5w Epi head and the 16ohm matched Epi Cab (16ohm)
I took this little bad boy, put it at the end of my signal chain, hooked the Epi cab to it and was astonished at how good it sounded. Even the cruch tone was very usable. It had enough gain for almost everything I would want, which ranges from super clean funk to gritty RnR.
The tone controls are good, but not as sweeping as you might get with a good tube amp, and it depends on the pups in your guitar, to be honest. If you have good tone out of your guitar, the unit works well. If the tone outta your pups ain't so great, you'll definitely hear it.
For a small gig and for recording, this baby is what I will use. Why carry a 20lb amp when this works just as good?
