This rugged metal contraption will boost your metal sound to daunting new heights.

The Emma Electronic PisdiYAUwot metal distortion pedal is a must have if you are into metal or at least into heavy riffing rock.

By the way, the name "PisdiYAUwot." What does it mean Angus Podgorny? It sort of means a contraption—with the difference that the PisdiYAUwot pedal is a contraption that actually does work!

One thing Emma Effects thinks that no one has really nailed yet, is a great pedal for metal. Most of them seem to be either too muddy or too slow for the really fast riffs. Emma's goal was to build a pedal with low-end punch that resembles beating sheet metal with a big hammer, the ability to scoop mids the Dimebag way, and to push up the mids the NuMetal way—full mids with body, that is.

Comments about Emma Electronic PisdiYAUwot Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I am an experienced player, especially in the "endless search of the perfect metal tone" if you know what I mean. I've been playing for 14 years, I've had everything from the boss metal zone, mxr fullbore, line 6 uber-metal, etc... When I picked up the PisdiYAUwot it was over 300 smackaroos when it first came out!!! However, when you plug it in you can immediately tell that it's nothing like the MXR Fullbore or the Line 6 Uber-metal, both of which produce very good metal tones, even for Meshuggah and Tool. However, the PisdiYAUwot does lack a little chunk, but it didn't really matter to me because the quality distortion was there, and there is literally no feeback or hiss from this pedal. It doesn't matter that the chunk was missing because I never rely on just one distortion pedal for a good Metal sound, if you're going to rely on pedals for your metal sound and not your amp (which should only be done if you don't have a good in amp distortion) then you absolutely HAVE to have an overdrive pedal immediately preceeding the distortion pedal. For example, I used an OCD overdrive pedal right before the PisdiYAUwot, with the gain on the OCD turned all the way down and the level turned up 3/4ths of the way. This is a necessary move for any guitarist in my opinion, before I was using an MXR dyna-comp before the PisdiYAUwot and that sounded pretty good, but trust me, put an OCD, or a Bad Monkey pedal if you're strapped for cash, those sound excellent esp as a signal booster for your distortion pedals that follow. Maybe just using a signal booster pedal like a Bad Monkey or Dyna comp on your amp distortion will sound better before trying to use a distortion pedal. Regardless, it's imperative to overdrive or boost the signal before ANY distortion pedal, even SRV did this by doubling his ibanez ts-808's next to each other. Adam Jones does this with multiple MXR micro-amp's. I personally love the Xotic RC Booster in the beginning of my signal chain, because it's a subtle signal booster, a tone enhancer, and over all increase in the quality of your signal, and it brings out the true rich and colorful tones of your guitar even on clean settings.

      Review

Comments about Emma Electronic PisdiYAUwot Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

This is the ultimate distortion pedal. Bar none. I've spent hundreds of dollars over the years trying to get "that tone". This pedal is the real deal. All I can say is, if you can't get a great tone from this pedal then you have no idea what great tone is. It may sound like an arrogant statement, but I'm serious. This pedal is so awesome. I can't recommend it enough. EMMA makes some of the best pedals in the industry. I wish they weren't so expensive, but you get what you pay for. EMMA pedals rock!

It's Not What it's Meant To Be

      By Ripped and Torn

Comments about Emma Electronic PisdiYAUwot Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I just don't know. I got this pedal after watching several youtube videos and the pedal is not that impressive to me. It is solid with a sturdy built using a metal box enclosure but there is a cheap looking product sticker on top of it. They could have used a decal or more professional paint job instead. After spending 2 hours trying to tweak the volume, low, mid, hig and gain knobs, I cannot get a brutal distortion sound from my ESP JH-600 guitar using a Line 6 Valve 212 amp. I've even tried using a Les Paul Standard and wasn't any better. The mid range knob which the inventor bragged about doesn't make it a huge difference when adjusted. In addition, you have to adjust the settings on your amp in conjunction with this pedal. The pedal itself does not do much alone. Hey, my MXR Fullbore and Digitech Metal Master sounded great and much heavier right out of the box without touching my amp as compared to the PisdiYAUwot! The one thing that I do like about the pedal is that there is a clear crisp sound with the gain knob when the distortion is on. None of that annoying hissing or nasal sounds from this pedal.I'll probably return this pedal as I am not happy with it in my opinion.
