Comments about Ernie Ball 6165 Stereo Volume/Pan Pedal:
works great and is very sturdy but is heavy.
Comments about Ernie Ball 6165 Stereo Volume/Pan Pedal:
Hugely disappointed! I returned it.
Really just an expensive A/B box. No linearity in the pan function at all, starting with A, as soon as the pedal comes off the stop it produces a mix of both channels with no noticeable variation in between until it reaches the other channel (B) then switches to that one. Pretty useless!
Comments about Ernie Ball 6165 Stereo Volume/Pan Pedal:
I use two of these pedals; one is for volume," the other to pan between magnetic pickups and piezo pickups. I had originally ""cheaped out"" and bought less expensive pedals", and paid extra to have one modified to pam, but they were unsatisfactory, both in performance and endurance. These EB's are heavy, sturdy, and durable, and they work quietly. The metal casings instill confidence.
For features it doesn't need much - the cool feature is the toe lever that changes it from VOL to PAN.
I've had mine since '93 and used them 3 gigs a week average. 'Nuf said.
The cost per year has been about 10 bucks.
Comments about Ernie Ball 6165 Stereo Volume/Pan Pedal:
Ok, yes, this pedal looks nice, seems to work well and has some nice features. Would someone please tell me whats up with the Fred Flintstone construction? Really, was string the only way you could connect the pedal to the potentiometers? String?......How do I build trust in something constructed like my high school science project? As soon as I find another stereo pedal, I'll be upgrading....You listening Dunlop ?
Comments about Ernie Ball 6165 Stereo Volume/Pan Pedal:
I finally got this pedal at the local music store after eyeing it for years...and I must say, what a simple, yet tasty, pedal! Depending on where you put this in your effects chain, this pedal is worth buying. Use it as either a volume control, violin bowing effects, control the amount of an effect (ie: chorus, distortion, phaser), or as a pan pedal. I gave it a 4.5 on features kus all the jacks are on the front, but I fixed that buy putting it next to my chorus and space echo and it works out great! All in all, a must buy...even if you don't need a volume pedal, you could use this one!
Comments about Ernie Ball 6165 Stereo Volume/Pan Pedal:
I wanted to seamlessly pan between my Soldano Avenger (distortion) and my Crate Palomino (clean) to increase versatility. This thing does the trick perfectly. All you do is hook two amps to it. One dialed with distortion and one dialed clean. Hook up both heads to a single stereo cab like a Marshall 1960 4X12. By doing this, you can pan your signal from clean to distortion and pretty much everything in between. Making it extremely versatile. When the pedal is engaged in volume mode while in this configuration, you get a really unique swell. Your distorted amp's gain is increased While your clean amp doesn't distort, but gets louder as you move the pedal, making a very cool doubling effect. This pedal can be hooked up in many other ways so use your imagination. It's also built like a tank. Buy it. You'll love it!
Comments about Ernie Ball 6165 Stereo Volume/Pan Pedal:
The pedal is solid in design, machined aluminum. Looks hi-tech, beautifully engineered. I use it for my Korg M1 in a stereo fashion. With a little nudge of my foot on the pan switch, I can cut one side of the channel and play mono. Nice for a special effect.
Comments about Ernie Ball 6165 Stereo Volume/Pan Pedal:
I really like the ability to pan with the pedal. You can work it between two amps or if you have an amp with two channels you can pan back and forth between the channels. Run one clean and one through effects for some real variation.
