Comments about Eventide Space Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:
I've been using the Eventide Space Reverb for well over a year now, most often with an HSS strat through a 60W Fender Supersonic. The unit lives on my pedalboard, gets played live 2 to 5 times a week in a guitar/bass/drums trio playing commercial pop, funk and lounge jazz, and provides the half dozen verb FX I need -basic tank, verb/delay, long "space" reverb, slap back, ducking verb, and a couple of heavy FX voices for intros/outros. The sound is highly detailed, and allows my strat's voice to breath openly. I hear no line loss when switched off. The source effects are solid, (plate, spring, hall etc.), but the variations can be stunning - go to Eventide's site and listen to "Black Hole" for an example - it's like adding miles of 3 dimensional space to your audio picture. Good realtime playing options, and no issues with editing, (I'm not proud, I read the manual), though I don't try and edit on the gig. They do have global editing options for adjusting for different venues/setups. The stereo is terrific on my studio tracks, though I usually go mono live. Only caveats are that it's big - takes up some real estate on my board, and though the unit itself is solidly built, it required an aftermarket power supply - the one supplied with the unit gave up the ghost within a couple of months. I'd take off half a star for that and still highly recommend this stomp.

Comments about Eventide Space Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:
I got this pedal because I needed to find a versatile pedal that could provide a large range of sounds for a new experimental project me and a friend (drums) are doing. This pedal exceeds my expectations. It comes with 100 presets, all based upon 12 main Eventide reverb designs. These 12 basics range from your ordinary types of reverb such as room, hall and spring, to some more unique ones such as "blackhole" or "shimmer," which entail synthie trails and can completely alter the sound of your guitar in fun, unique ways. Everyone of the presets that come with the pedal have a unique sound and are can be edited completely. Many of the presets are designed with artists in mind such as Amedeo Pace, Sigur Rose, and even electronic artists such as Richard Devine. I originally heard of this pedal because Annie Clark (St. Vincent) uses it when playing live. There's a great video where it shows her first impressions using it.
What I like the best about this pedal is how one can manipulate every preset in pretty much every way possible. The project I'm working on demands many unique sounds, all of which I am sure I can get from this pedal. Whether you want to experiment or have a few basic reverbs, this pedal will suit your needs. If you are looking for just a basic reverb pedal, there are certainly some to be found at 1/12th of the price without all the extra doodads. However, this pedal is incredibly flexible and great if you're looking to make your own creative sounds. I am very glad that I got it and use it every time I play.

Ignore the negative review(s). This effect is top-notch, studio quality. The presets are ok, but explore and create (and save) your own! This is where the unit shines. I use it for warm deep verbs that trek across the land, spread across the horizon, and coalesce epochs into impressionist paintings, penetrating time and space beyond the big bang, and makes the angels and gods jealous. To me, reverb becomes an instrument unto itself- pads of harmonic spires and ribbons in the night sky. If you take reverb seriously and like to overdose on long ambient tails of reverb bliss, buy it now and thank me later.

Comments about Eventide Space Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:
I was using Cubase effects and figured I better buy a higher quality reverb.
I'm an ambient artist and like a lot of people, I find the Blackhole and Shimmer presets to be outstanding. I wish it had more effects I like as much as those but I'm still happy with it. I heard someone try to match the Shimmer effect with Guitar Rig and it was noticibly inferior.
I use the more normal reverbs too and they sound pretty good to me. This effect unit is not just for guitars but works well with anything.
Comments about Eventide Space Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:
This pedal is extremely tweakable, but sterile sounding and really excels at nothing. It is reminicent of the Digitech RP-1 from the 90s. If you are looking for a reverb effect, this is not it. If you are looking for something to really process and strip down your tone, this is it. A '3' rating is liberal. Musician's Friend was excellent in managing the return process.
Great display, banking capability, tweaking and expression pedal inputs.
Sound quality is nothing short of terrible. Sterile and very digital sounding.
Not a great value for a reverb pedal, super value for an amazing rack mount processer. I'm not sure it's either, though.
Comments about Eventide Space Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:
Absolutely love it !
Best spring, room and hall sounds I have heard in a digital form factor A pleaure to own and operate. For ambient and loop work you could have a absolute field day tweaking.
Other techiincal highlights: Supports MIDI i/o Each preset has a 'hotswitch' mode that is instantly toggled to, for live flexibility Line out/Instrument out switches for stereo ins and outs
I watched lots of youtube videos and found the sonicstate.com one to be the best.
Unique Selling Point = truly killer effects! My experience of reverb based effects is from the spring tube in my old Marshall DSL401, then I had a DIgitech Hardwire Reverb, and then a Line 6 M5 Modeler and now a line 6 HD 500. All I can say is, wow. The quality gap to me from this vs Hardwire and Line 6 is subtle but huge. Maybe akin to the perfect string bend instead of a close effort. I notice this gap just using the standard room effect. It feels like studio quality. I just don't feel that detectable trace of emulation (although I know it is generated via a digital algorhythm just the same as the line 6 model). The second area where this unit shines for me is spring. It is stunningly lifelike. The more extreme effects are also great and very detailed, but they require thoughtfulness to make them work. There are no 'bad' base effects here. All do the job in their own way and really breath life into the execution. Room Plate Spring Hall these are the workhorse settings which I love Reverse, DualVerb, Blackhole, Mangled Verb, Shimmer. DynaVerb - i'm not using these enough to really know what they are capable of yet. They sound great but require more deliberate phasing to work rather than just jamming. ModEchoVerb love it TremoloVerb, just beautiful, I never used the Line 6 tremolo but this thing is great and seems to enhance strumming, single chords, riffs - very flexible I don't normally use many effects - often just the verb and a looper and so to end up with such a overblown unit might seem like an overkill, but for me it is well worth it because that quality in the base sounds is just stunning. Further there are delays and mods attached to the different sounds so for the minimalist effect user like myself might end up just using this and maybe a drive pedal.
Pedals are soft to the touch, super springy, delightful. Clipping LED indicator - very handy feature.
Best constructed pedal I have ever owned. (Usually I'm happy if a pedal meets the Boss standard but this is the next level.)
Yes it's expensive but it's just lush! Especially if you use the line level switches for vocals/other instruments. I really feel this is a rack processor on the floor, not a pedal.
Comments about Eventide Space Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:
I've had the Eventide Space for about a week now and I absolutely love it! I gigged with it the second day I owned it and it performed very well for my expectations. It added "Space and Beyond" to my sound. It is an incredibly versatile pedal and generates a wide variety of sounds, from very basic reverbs to expansive atmosheric soundscapes. It's also great in studio application as well. I would say that it may not be for everyone, but for those who have the inspiration and posses some knack for sound tweaking- this guy has quite an arsenal for a stompbox and will be a usefull tool.
If you like versatility, and you have imagination and some effect manipuation experience, I'd say this thing is for you!
C'mon, IT'S EVENTIDE...
For me, well worth the money.
Comments about Eventide Space Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:
I really wanted to like this tool. I have had many rack effects of the years, most of them infinitely more accessible than this pedal. It had a sort of old school digital sound to it that I could not learn to like. Many of the more modern digital effects are sampling at such a high rate that the old school digital harshness has disappeared. I find it very telling that nowhere has Eventide published the processing bit size of their processor or the sampling rate. Most digital effect makers regard that as an effective marketing specification. Why would Eventide obscure that point? Something to hide, Eventide?
Disappointing. No usable presets. Overly complicated interface that crys out for a computer application to navigate all the pathways. I don't want to spend 100 hours learning how to squeeze 3 usable settings out of the thing. Documentation is horrible. If you want to creat soundscapes for video games or science fiction movies, have fun. Some of us are looking for practical tools to add a little spice to the process of making music. For a $$ more you could have a state of the art boutique spring tank. If you are looking for a usable reverb pedal, there are so many cheaper, more practical alternatives. Anyway, that is my take on the thing. Studio fx need to stay in the rack--they overwhelm the pedal concept.
Seems sturdy and well built, but he user navigation is absurd.
Not a terribly useful tool. For the price, it's ridiculous.
Comments about Eventide Space Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:
This effect is AMAZING. I'm a jazzer who uses few effects. A guitar into amp guy. I have been searching for a reverb I could use in my Mesa Boogie's effects loop and directly into my Vibrolux Reverb just to fatten up the sound a little. This thing has so much processing power in both the effect and the EQ of the effected sound. The sounds are so clear it has NO effect on my guitars tone (I use a CS 356 custom made for me). Even the crazy sounds are cool! Yes it does put you in Space, outer space. GREAT JOB EVENTIDE!!!!! Buy it you'll love it.
