Driven by incredibly authentic amp models and a huge bank of built-in effects, Mustang amplifiers come equipped with USB connectivity and Fender Fuse software, allowing your musical creativity and imagination to run wild.

The Fender Mustang III is a 100W open-back combo amp with a 12" Celestion speaker that sounds great and pumps serious volume. Very Impressed

Features:

Let me start this off with a well deserved "wow." This amp is absolutely breathtaking. This was my first 'big amp' if you wish to call it that. I wanted something that both got the job done and wouldn't break the bank. This puppy delivers! Some skeptics might disagree with the excessive number of presets (which I might agree at times can be a little unecessary) this amp has but most of the fun that comes with it is custom creating your own preferable sound. Fender has really outdone themselves with beefing up the sound for the metal genre out there because let me tell you this thing can get crunchy! Looking at the led light and trying to figure things out at first can be a little agrivating but after about 20 minutes of tinkering it becomes nothing more than second nature.

Quality:

This thing is pretty sturdy! Being an open back it created a few scares with me not knowing how kept up it would stay but after 4 months of straight use I haven't seen the slightest flaw or crack, even after one horrific fall. The only thing bad I can say about the Mustang 3 is that the two button footswitch has an ever so slight delay. It's only bad enough to the point where you barely notice it. Other than that I see nothing wrong.

Value:

I had to give value a 5 star review just because what other 100 watt with this many settings are you ever going to find out there for $300? yeah I highly doubt there is one... The one 12 inch speaker gets work done! It may not be able to compete with most tube amp styled 50 watters but once you get to about 7.. I recommend checking to see if your windows are intact and your pants are still on...

Overall:

I would recommend this amp to any guitarist of any skill level or genre because this amp has something for anyone. It would actually take time to find something you dont like about this beauty. I could ramble and rant all day about how great this amp truely is, but I would sadly run out of characters...

Mustang III Guitar Combo Amp: As good as expected!

| Review By: Michael Allred | 1 month, 1 week ago

Features:

I found 3 clean channel presets & 3 hi-gain channel presets that I like right out of the box. Sounds should only get better with tweaking of the settings. Hoping to find other settings I like on-line or make some of my own.

Quality:

Seems solid enough. Very quiet with hardly any noise from the amp with it on and instrument plugged in but not being played. Won't really know about quality until holds up for a while.

Value:

Great sound and flexibility for the price. Excellent value!

Overall:

Very good amp. It is alot of fun to explore different preset sounds. I think most of the presets are  designed more for a lead guitar player than a rythym guitarists. But I found 3 clean channel presets & 3 hi-gain channel presets that I like right out of the box. Sounds should only get better with tweaking of the settings. I would recommend this amp for anyone, for practice up to small to medium size venue gigs. You will not be disapointed.

Mustang III amp

Features:

I am a big fan of Musicians Friend and I would like to thank you for your fine service.  I have bought a lot of stuff from you guys.  I have really good luck with almost all of it.  I bought the Mustang II the first time and I found that it was not user friendly so I sent it back and by the way Thank you for taking it back.  Then after reading a lot of reviews I upgraded to the Mustang III and I am very happy with this amp.  Fender has pretty much got it right. It is hard to find that tube amp sound in a cheeper amp. I think that Fender has come close.   I own 4 line 6 amps that I bought from you guys or Guitar center and they don't have the top, middle and bottom that the Mustang III has.  I have been playing the guitar for 50 years and the products that you sell make it all worth it. Thank you for your tech support and your help on the phone.  You guys are a first class company.  Thank you

Mustang III Best amp I ever had

| Review By: Dan Focht | 1 month, 2 weeks ago

Features:

I am a steel guitar player and bought this amp not knowing for sure how well it would work given the extended range of a steel.  Now that I have used it for a few months I wanted to share with others how well it works.  It has a lot of effects that I don't use much.  They are good high quality effects and integrate well.  I was aprehensive because I wanted a clear, clean sounding amp also.  I got everything I ever wanted in one easy to carry package.  This is great.  I no longer carry and have to make room for a lot of extra stuff.  I just grab the amp and guitar and off I go.  Clear, powerful sound that I can easily modify on the fly.  The other thing I like is that Fender finally made the volume control linear.  Now I can control the loudness and tone of the amp without the typical Fender low number sensitivity.  I hope this amp is around for a long time.  I look at it this way, this amp is clear and loud enough with pleanty of head room.  If somebody wants it even louder they can mic it. I don't want to subject what little is left of my hearing to any more sound pressure than what this amp delivers!

Can't recommend it enough for guitar and steel guitar.

Us older guys that still like to crank it out have learned our lessons and really appreciate what Fender has done in the design of this amp.  Being able to interface it to the PC and fine tune its performance tops it off as ideal for me.
