This is the second one I've bought now. I use them for my Alesis SR16 drum machine when I do a solo act. I run the left and right outputs from the drum machine to them, get them off the floor and separated a little, and even with only 15 watts each I get good coverage in small venues(100 to 200 people). They have ample tonal range to get a pretty good sounding drum kit. I was surprised how well the kick drum sounds out of that little speaker, that's why I only got one to start with, I wanted to see how well it would work for what I planned to use it for. I've played Bass as well as guitar for many years so of course I had to plug my Bass into it to see how it sounded. It's a practice amp plain and simple. It will let you hear your Bass, and it will get loud, but 15 watts will not keep up with anything. For someone just starting out on the Bass this would make a good choice for a first amp but don't think you can take it to your buddy's house if he's using a 100 watt guitar amp, you won't be heard. I say that reviewing this Fender amp but that applies to ANY company's low output amplifier. My stage rig is 800 watts. Overkill? possibly, but I will be heard! I can always turn it down. As I said I use these amps for a drum machine. I use a small guitar amp and a 100 watt pa for a solo act in small venues and they work great for my use.

I so wanted to LOVE this little amp, as I've been seeking a small practice amp that I can also use for small acoustic gigs. Fender got it right in the looks department...it's a gorgeous silver-faced amp w/ durable flat black tolex and simple, yet pretty cream knobs.
No matter how I tweaked the three EQ knobs, I couldn't get a warm tone. The sound was either tinny or worse yet, sounded muffled. What this amp needs is a port in the back to move some air.
I played through this amp, and then plugged into my old Behringer BX108 Thunderbird, and the difference was amazing. The BX108, which has a rear port and the same limited EQ options as the small Fender Rumble 15, sounded beautiful and clear w/ a nice warm bass tone.
I'm pretty sure that I'm going to stick w/ my Behringer BX108 and stop trying to replace it w/ something new and sexy....because if it ain't broke, don't fix it?

Comments about Fender Rumble 15 1x8 15W Bass Combo Amp:

This amp has a really good sound despite its size; it can easily be turned down enough that you can play indoors without disturbing your neighbors. The knobs are really smooth so you can dial in a good tone without much effort. My only complaint is that this model doesn't have the overdrive switch.

I purchased this amp to accompany my Rumble 500. The Rumble 500 is fine on its own however having a 15" speaker adds some growl and deep tone to the 2 10" speakers. The amp is small but powerful.
