I recently purchased a GT MicroBass and was looking for a small, lightweight amp to use with it. As many do nowadays, I read many reviews and forum threads to see what experienced bass players were recommending.

What I found was that the new Rumble series was recieving high marks for sound and build quality. (Not to mention being the lightest in weight, reasonably priced and packed with GREAT features!)

After receiving mine, I agree. The sound this thing puts out is amazing! AND..... since my main instruments are guitar and mandolin, I was curious as to how this amp would perform with these. While it is definately NOT a good idea to use a guitar amp with a bass, the Rumble v3. 40 works quite well as an option for my guitars and mandolins. The lack of a tweeter or horn for the highs is helped by Fender's addition of the "Bright" switch.

In my opinion..... If you are looking for a versatile amp with a LOT of features that's about half the weight of others in this size range, buy it!!

Bought rumble 25 overall very much more impressive for what it is than the 40 but would need a speaker upgrade as well. Returned the next day and upgraded to the 40 and here is what
I found. Although the 40 is made of wood as opposed to particle board on the 25 the denceness of the cabinet is more solid sounding on the 25, furthermore, they want to port the 40's back pressure to make the cheap speaker put out more sound. This gives the amp that bare plywood ambient honk. Luckily for me I had a high quality 10" 8 ohm speaker on the shelf with sim efficientcy. A nice piece of insulation behind it and now it is transformed into a contender. Something has got to give at this price point. On this product it is the speaker.

Comments about Fender Rumble 40 1x10 40W Bass Combo Amp:

Though I have played guitar for 26 years, I just recently took interest in bass. This amp is exactly what I needed; something that is small enough for the home but doesn't sound tinny and cheap. No rattles, no funny noises, the EQ options are excellent as is the 1/8" plug for headphones. I play a Fender MIM jazz bass through it and it sounds wonderful. And the price! THE PRICE! Usually you get one or the other, but with this amp you get a great price AND a high quality amp.

Are you on the fence reading this? Just buy it, you will not be dissappointed. For home use, this amp cannot be beat with all the features it has.

Comments about Fender Rumble 40 1x10 40W Bass Combo Amp:

Love, love, love this thing!! Did I mention I love this thing! May be small but great things do come in small packages. Great classic look, powerful, punchy, and resonant (way beyond it stature). I also has a huge amount of features for a smaller amp. Love the overdrive, Contour, and vintage switches, gives you a great amount of variety with out buying extra effects pedals. Super light. would be suitable for smaller gigs, or used as a monitor for any venue were you can plug into their system via the XLR out put on the back (also has ground lift switch). Also really shines as a recording amp. Best money I've spent on an Amp in along time ( I got in on a temp. price drop, and got it with 20% off holiday sale to boot!!!!!).

I wanted a small rig for band rehearsals. this rig fits the bill, plus it has a Di out so it can be pumped through the PA. extra features include phones out for quiet rehearsal. placement of dials and buttons are on top for easy viewing. good looking amp. If I need a bigger rig later, I will go with fender rumble again!

Comments about Fender Rumble 40 1x10 40W Bass Combo Amp:

I bought the Rumble 200 about a year ago and was thrilled with every aspect of it. And even though it is very compact and very light I wanted something smaller as well. I pulled the trigger when I was able to buy it from Musician's Friend with a discount. The Rumble 40 is plenty loud for home practice and works great in performance as a stage monitor with the line out to mixer for the house. I absolutely love the punchy sound of the 10" speaker and it does not break up at reasonably high levels. I actually prefer the sound of this (at medium levels) to the bigger amp. I am very pleased with this purchase.

I use the amp for practice and small church venues. Tried a Fender 25 watt regular amp and it did not put out the sound that the rumble 40 makes. Fender has improved greatly on their quality for bass amps. Very light and has good sound. Can't crank up the gain to high or feedback will be a problem, but this is not made to play at large venues or outside concerts. Great small café amp as well. Hopefully Fender will keep the cost affordable for all musicians. New and old.

I'm actually a drummer who dabbles in bass and guitar. This amp is perfect for someone like me who just wants to slappa-da-bass once in awhile. I have a 20x12 shed that I converted into a man cave for musicians and I have a lot of friends come over to jam. All of my bass player friends love playing out this thing. Plenty of power and a great sound for a 240 sf room.

Comments about Fender Rumble 40 1x10 40W Bass Combo Amp:

I am amazed at the excellent sound produced by this light and easy to handle unit. Before purchase I was concerned about volume and tone from a small speaker unit. I did a lot of research and review reading before purchase. Have no fear. The tone is robust and the controls on the unit provide a wide array of variation and customization.

Great for practice and using the "AUX In" to play along and learn songs. Best for quieter rehearsals and small gigs. Tone and shaping are okay, but not great. I have used it for loud full band rehearsals. It does hold up, but not great. It goes fairly loud, but not quite loud enough to match the volume of drums and guitar. One huge pro is that it's light; I can lift it by the handle with just my pinky finger.

Only wanted something inexpensive for a rehearsal room. I never expected this bass amp to do anything but provide a minimal sound. Man, was I shocked. This thing could probably go on the road in small venues or churches.
