Price, sound, great stock speaker, new modeling sounds and choices, 15 watts tube RMS, channel switching, light weight and Fender quality. Need I say more?
Sometimes people create a product so good that they just leave it alone, let it run its course and then eventually retire it......not Fender!!! They take the extremely popular and amazing Fender Super Champ XD, an amp most people who have tried have also bought, and dramatically improve upon it!! I have the original and love it, but I must admit this new model is even better in several different levels of operation. First, let me say both amps are great, but since the Super Champ XD is no longer available as new, the X2 tells us why by its amazing operational skills and value. The new version is highlighted by a great sounding stock speaker, excellent tube power @ a conservative 15 watts RMS, and most important of all slight modeling changes that give one more "Fender Sound" options than the earlier model. You still have many choices for those who want distorted, thrasher sounds, but, for true Fender fans, you also receive several new classic Fender sounds to choose from as well. For any professional or soon to be pro musician, this is one amp that can serve you in practically any gig situation. It simply sounds amazing and is very powerful and light weight to haul around. Seriously, unless you are an absolute "Rock Star" who needs walls of amplifiers for a big concert venue.....make sure you check this baby out. Did I mention that the price is very reasonable? This is one of the new standards in the Fender line and it is now made in Mexico instead of China. Should be a plus. Either way, check it out, you won't be sorry......this is one great amp!!!!!! By the way, I am no rookie, I have played professionally for over 40 years and I think this amp will be popular with many age levels and styles of players. Thanks for reading and I hope this helps you in your music.

Nice little amp, great features. I like the tubes comlimenting the modeling, as I don't like straight modeling. Nice variety of amps and FX. Wish there was a Mid and Presence control.

The bad:
Every combo I've owned has some sort of rattle or buzz somewhere, including my Princeton Reissue, and that thing cost nearly $1K, which is rediculous. This amp is no exception, and the first day out of the box I had to trace a buzz down to a bad speaker; the speaker has a buzz like the paper was ripped, but there is no rip anywhere. It does this completely out of the cabinet, so it's not cabinet or baffle rattle. I get so tired of purchasing products and then having to return/exchange them, only to get another one with some other problem.

Fender Fuse:
I feel Fender threw us a bone with this. You can create presets on your computer to your heart's content, but unlike the Mustang and G-DEC, you can't upload presets to the amp. You can only create them, store them on your computer, and use them when the amp is connected via a USB cable. This is completely useless if you want to take the amp anywhere with you. All this software serves to do is highlight the fact that 50% of the amp's true features are completely unusable without a computer connection. Therefore, I threw the software in the Recycle bin.

Lastly, the amp does not recall your Tap tempo setting after you change voicings or turn the amp off - there's no way to save your Tap setting. It's annoying to have to reguess my Delay setting every time I turn the amp on.

This is a nice amp that could have been so much better. It's worth keeping because it has a few nice tones, but now I have to replace the speaker and settle for less functionality than I was expecting.

It would be 3/5 if the speaker wasn't broke, and 5/5 if you could also upload your presets to the amp. With two strikes against it, I gave it 2/5-Below average. I recommend it, but only to those who know what to expect.

Comments about Fender Super-Champ X2 15W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

For the clean channel, it's a pretty great amp. It's definitely got the Fender chime to it. I love playing that channel alone with a little bit of the built in reverb. The overdrive mods are okay but are a bit overrated. There are a few good channels, but only like 4 out of the 16 they offer. There is no mid range control on this amp, only bass and treble. I found that very interesting, but it's truthfully not all that bad without the mid control. The built in effects feature is something I'm never very fond of on any amp, but I actually like them a lot on this one. The delay is very responsive, the reverb sounds nice and clean (not to mention there's two different types of reverb built in). There are a few other effects (chorus, tremelo, vibrato etc.) that came in handy when I was writing/recording in studio as well. Overall, I was impressed with that aspect of the amp. However, I still run my effects with pedals exclusively.

My biggest issue with this amp is that the speaker doesn't do the amp any justice. I think the amp is INCREDIBLE for 15 watts of Fender. Everything sounds great... if you run it through a different cab (which is what I do). I run my Champ X2 through an Avatar 2x12 cab with green backs, and now the amp sings like a saint. I would recommend this amp, but if you are gigging/looking to play loud, I'd get a cab to send it through rather than playing with the speaker it comes with.

Comments about Fender Super-Champ X2 15W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I the how the amp worked before it started failing, I would highly recommend it if it was more dependable After owning it for 4 months, the modeling channel began to fade in and out. My amp technician said it was due to bad solder joints. He fixed it and the amp worked fine for a month, then the problem returned. He replaced the tubes (no charge). The amp worked fine for a week and the problem returned. I just use the tube section of the amp now, as that section has never given me a problem and it sounds really nice for a tube amp in this price range, even without the extra features that I paid for but can't use. If you buy a new one, make sure you get the extended warranty, I didn't.

Comments about Fender Super-Champ X2 15W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I was looking to reduce the heft of my equipment. This amp has a great clean sound, and the 2nd channel has tons of flexibility. Unfortunately, the speaker sounds lousy - weak, and like it's about to fail. More breakup than overdrive. When I tried it with a friend's 10" in an open back cabinet, it was night and day. It would be so great if companies with combo amps allowed a choice of speaker. I'd have to pay for another speaker and be stuck with a lame one. Otherwise, this amp has an amazing clean sound, the reverb is perfect, and the 2nd channel allows a cover band to do anything. Really!

I have had this amp for almost a year now. Took me a while to get used to the voicing channel, but this thing is very versatile. The Reverb is pretty good and the gain sounds natural. The clear channel is awesome cranked up. My lap Steele sound really good on the clear channel with the reverb. This amp sounds Great for Rock, blues, country and jazz. The bottom line is that this is a good Fender tube amp for the money!

Comments about Fender Super-Champ X2 15W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I got really excited about this amp based on the reviews but it just does not hold up to real sound quality. We love small amps in Nashville because we play out so much, just roll into the venue and mic it up, but it just did not cut mustard. As an example, one great guitarist in town, Jack Pearson who played with the Allman Brothers for a couple of years, he usually plays though a blues junior, even in big venues and makes it scream. This amp wouldn't do it. The clean channel just does not break up, the modeled side sounds great in your living room but then as soon as you add a drummer or mic it, it reveals it's true self and admits that it does not indeed have that weight and throw of real tube drive.

So, I would buy this for my son or nephew etc to learn how to play guitar, but does not stand up to being an actually working man's amplifier. I see what they were trying to do, but I think that they just couldn't pull it off at that price point.

Comments about Fender Super-Champ X2 15W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

What you get, for the money, is a nice little Fender tube amp. Add the footswitch, [for another cash outlay, plus a cable] a more useful amp with efx on/off and channel switching. Change the stock tubes and speaker, a much nicer amp.

The SC platform is reasonably versatile, and with some tweaking of the gain and tone knobs, the voices can be incredibly accurate. Don't think it is loud enough? Use the line out jack to the board, or another amp.

Watch your volume though, as each voice can jump in perceived output...why couldn't they have leveled them all equally?
Also, I find, on the more 'gain-y' setting/voices, that I can't 'clean up' the dirt from the guitar volume pot...the price of digital modeling, I guess...
Also, you can't upload the FUSE effects patch data into the amp! Pointless except for home recording. So that wheel of marvelous digital effects is limited to what the wheel allows you to combine. Want vibratone and delay? No, sorry...want chorus and reverb? Ain't happening. This has been an issue since the first SCXD, and Fender keeps its head in the sand. Push buttons for combining each effect would have been easy enough to do, guys!
All in all, though, a useful basic amp for a decent price that can be modified and upgraded.

This is a great little amp, and light enough for an aging musician like me to lug from home to gig and back. Not a Hot Rod Deluxe, like my last Fender, but it gets the job done. I did change the speaker to a Ragin' Cajun, and it gave it more volume and bottom end thump. Highly recommended amp for the money.
