I am amazed at how much I love this amp. First off, I have been playing guitar for 50 years and played professionally for over 30. I have owned some of the most iconic classic Fender amps made. I don't understand the negative reviews. As a recording engineer for many years, I know good tone when I hear it. Maybe they got a lemon. I've played through this amp using my Fender American Deluxe Strat and a Tele, a 335, PRS Santana, an Epiphone Les Paul and the tones are absolutely amazing and carry a distinct sound with each guitar. Recording with this amp is a dream. It is very quiet for a tube amp. One of the main things I noticed while critically listening was the chiming harmonics and sustain; the strings just seemed to sing. The Treble and Bass response on the amp is amazing and the specially designed 10" speaker reproduces bright highs and a tight low end and surprisingly big sounding for its size. I have the Blond vinyl and Oxblood grill cloth model which makes for a classic Fender look of days gone by. I own a modified Fender Tweed Blues Jr., a Princeton Reverb RI, a Cybertwin, a G-Dec, Marshall MG and a Supersonic 22. This Super Champ stands tall along side of them all. Although 15 watts, it can still get loud. It is worth much more than the present price. This is definitely a keeper.

Nice little amp, great features. I like the tubes comlimenting the modeling, as I don't like straight modeling. Nice variety of amps and FX. Wish there was a Mid and Presence control.

The bad:
Every combo I've owned has some sort of rattle or buzz somewhere, including my Princeton Reissue, and that thing cost nearly $1K, which is rediculous. This amp is no exception, and the first day out of the box I had to trace a buzz down to a bad speaker; the speaker has a buzz like the paper was ripped, but there is no rip anywhere. It does this completely out of the cabinet, so it's not cabinet or baffle rattle. I get so tired of purchasing products and then having to return/exchange them, only to get another one with some other problem.

Fender Fuse:
I feel Fender threw us a bone with this. You can create presets on your computer to your heart's content, but unlike the Mustang and G-DEC, you can't upload presets to the amp. You can only create them, store them on your computer, and use them when the amp is connected via a USB cable. This is completely useless if you want to take the amp anywhere with you. All this software serves to do is highlight the fact that 50% of the amp's true features are completely unusable without a computer connection. Therefore, I threw the software in the Recycle bin.

Lastly, the amp does not recall your Tap tempo setting after you change voicings or turn the amp off - there's no way to save your Tap setting. It's annoying to have to reguess my Delay setting every time I turn the amp on.

This is a nice amp that could have been so much better. It's worth keeping because it has a few nice tones, but now I have to replace the speaker and settle for less functionality than I was expecting.

It would be 3/5 if the speaker wasn't broke, and 5/5 if you could also upload your presets to the amp. With two strikes against it, I gave it 2/5-Below average. I recommend it, but only to those who know what to expect.

Comments about Fender Super-Champ X2 15W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I'm more of a "semi-professional musician" meaning that I play with pros, but not for my primary income. This amp is still a solid product! It's been around for decades. Has exactly what I needed. I have one in a home studio, and bought a second one for live gigs in small venues, or maybe for an offsite recording session. Very portable, very solid. Don't be fooled by the 15W output - it's pretty efficient. The built-in effects are pretty good. I like the reverb.

I got this amp for our practice studio but will likely use it in performances as well. Adjusting the balance between volume and gain provides a host of options for clean vs. gritty sound. I got rid of one of my pedals as a result. Kudos to Fender.

The first one I returned because the USB port was punched out. This second one quit working 20 into using it. It also has some really bad buzzing before quitting. Buzzed on the distortion channel in the high range.

Comments about Fender Super-Champ X2 15W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I decided to get the Fender Super Champ X2 to have an amp I could record with. I wanted a tube amp that had outputs where I could plug into a mixer or my digital recording deck. This amp fit the bill nicely. The USB capability is a plus as well. I will eventually replace the tubes that came with the amp but for now, it does what I need it to do. The "out of box" experience isn't bad for this amp at all. However from watching YouTube videos, tube replacements will really set the sound off. From having tube vocal pre-amps in the past, I tend to live by the rule, if it comes with a stock tube then replace the tube. For the price, it comes with a nice set of effects, all the standards you'd expect in an amp; reverb, delay, etc. I use guitar effects pedals so I really didn't need an amp that contained a whole lot of effects. This is a good amp for the price. In my opinion, nothing warms like a real tube. If eventually you needed a bigger amp, this one has an output plug you could use to plug into a bigger amp. This amp gets very loud though. I cranked it up and it shook the walls. Cranking up the gain gives nice distortion for when you want to really jam out. Enjoy.

I ordered it as open box (great price) but when i tried it the sustain had a serious buzz. Likely the
reason it was open box. I have another x2 i keep at my church and love it.

I like this little amp. I don't have a lot of space in the area that we are set up at church and I don't need a huge amp. Just a good sounding amp that works with typical rhythm section and vocals in a small venue. It especially works great with a Fender Strat or Tele.

I use this at church every Sunday. I find it works great with my Stratocaster and recommend it if you have a tele, strat or similar single coil. I have an HSS an sometimes use the bridge and it is fine. It's all in what's right for the moment. I use to have a Line 6 foot pedal played through a clean amp but stopped using it when a kid came up to shake my hand, stepping on the pedal and messing up my settings. This amp is what it is. No cute kid can mess up my playing now.

Comments about Fender Super-Champ X2 15W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

For the clean channel, it's a pretty great amp. It's definitely got the Fender chime to it. I love playing that channel alone with a little bit of the built in reverb. The overdrive mods are okay but are a bit overrated. There are a few good channels, but only like 4 out of the 16 they offer. There is no mid range control on this amp, only bass and treble. I found that very interesting, but it's truthfully not all that bad without the mid control. The built in effects feature is something I'm never very fond of on any amp, but I actually like them a lot on this one. The delay is very responsive, the reverb sounds nice and clean (not to mention there's two different types of reverb built in). There are a few other effects (chorus, tremelo, vibrato etc.) that came in handy when I was writing/recording in studio as well. Overall, I was impressed with that aspect of the amp. However, I still run my effects with pedals exclusively.

My biggest issue with this amp is that the speaker doesn't do the amp any justice. I think the amp is INCREDIBLE for 15 watts of Fender. Everything sounds great... if you run it through a different cab (which is what I do). I run my Champ X2 through an Avatar 2x12 cab with green backs, and now the amp sings like a saint. I would recommend this amp, but if you are gigging/looking to play loud, I'd get a cab to send it through rather than playing with the speaker it comes with.

I the how the amp worked before it started failing, I would highly recommend it if it was more dependable After owning it for 4 months, the modeling channel began to fade in and out. My amp technician said it was due to bad solder joints. He fixed it and the amp worked fine for a month, then the problem returned. He replaced the tubes (no charge). The amp worked fine for a week and the problem returned. I just use the tube section of the amp now, as that section has never given me a problem and it sounds really nice for a tube amp in this price range, even without the extra features that I paid for but can't use. If you buy a new one, make sure you get the extended warranty, I didn't.
