Comments about Fender Vibro-King Custom 60W 3x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Not cheap. Not light. But man.. so addictive. This is a great amp. I've played through 3 different ones and they all sounded sweet. This a holy grail amp to my ears. 6L6's have never sounded better.

They hit a home run on this one. Fender VibroKing vs. Tone King Metrolpoltion ... too close to call

Comments about Fender Vibro-King Custom 60W 3x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This is my favorite current-production Fender amp. I've owned most of them, and this is the clearest, most beautiful sounding one of the lot. I had a super Reverb before, but this is a step up. Wonderful clean sound with both bright and dark guitars (single coils and hum buckers), coolest overdrive when cranked. It does get loud above about 4 or 5, so you need a place you're able to crank it for those creamy lead sounds. The trick of maxing the volume and bringing up the tone controls until it breaks up at a softer volume does not do the amp justice. It works in a pinch if you need to use it that way. It takes pedals well, as they say. I use an OCD and others with good results. With this amp, you hear all of the nuances of your playing, and all of the character of your guitar.

Mine is pretty bright, so I keep the treble turned down, but it's still on the bright side even then. I have not gotten a truly mellow sound out of it. I did put a NOS Telefunken 12AX7 in V1, and changed the power tubes to Tung-Sols. It is by far my favorite amp to use with a Les Paul Standard for clean sounds. It's just incredibly responsive and detailed, and very inspiring to play.

I don't play live or belong to a band, but record original music in various styles. My other amps currently are a Mesa Roadster and Bogner Duende. The Bogner is darker and mellower, and the Mesa is somewhere in between.

Comments about Fender Vibro-King Custom 60W 3x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

You would think for this price they would have used high quality components. All the capacitors are cheap, and they should have used carbon comp. resistors like the old ones did. I cant believe they even when with cheap capacitors, these can make a huge difference in tone and for the price they should have used good caps (it would have been about 30 more dollars on there end). and I wouldn't doubt they used cheap china made transformers like the ones they use in the rest of there amps. The amp sounds good for sure but for this price tag it should have came with high quality components like Mercury magnetics transformers sprague atom electrolytic's, ect.The wiring looks a little sloppy (for the price tag) they didn't even twist the transformer for a cleaner look. Not that the wiring not being perfect makes a difference in the tone, I just think for the price it should look perfect. If I were to drop this kinda cash on a amp I would go with a boutique company for a clone.good sounding amp but could have been great. If you don't have to have the fender name I would go with a clone from a company that uses high quality parts.

    Tone Heaven

Comments about Fender Vibro-King Custom 60W 3x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I love this amp. It has a tone about it that can't be matched. I play with other musicians using more expensive amps (Marshall, Orange, others) and this amp blows them all away. The Cleans are to die for and the overdriven tone is just the best.Throw in a pedal to push it into hard distortion and this thing really rocks. It is expensive but worth every penny. The flagship of Fender Amps.

The Greatest Professional Amp Ever Made

Comments about Fender Vibro-King Custom 60W 3x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

The Fender Vibro-King is the best sounding guitar amp I have ever owned - and I've owned about all of 'em at one point or another. I have two VK's. I don't get to use them as often as I like as 60W is reserved for the larger shows and halls but when I do, my playing steps up a notch. The VK is the perfect execution of the best parts, the most time tested circuitry and the classic tone we all know and love. If you're not careful It will overpower smaller PA's and doesn't start to break up until you get up in decibels but, when it does... it will take you from Vince Gill clean to classic CCR vibrato to Dick Dale surf to Stevie Ray overdrive and all points in between. The reverb and vibrato circuits are to die for. If I could only own one amp, it would be this one.
