Any product that fails after a few months is junk
I owned this pedal for a bout 4 months and used it in my riga regularly. There was a slight bleed of sound, but it was not enough when playing at club volume for me to notice. Iwas happy with it while it worked. One day, one side just quit. This pedal is made in China...I suspect mass production and cheap parts are the reason it failed.

I have learned this lessen before about quality over price, no more will I buy the cheapest item. This time I'm going with Lehle....
It was good for a while but ultimately failed
Well even if it was a good "value" becuase of the price, because it failed, the value is low

Comments about Livewire ABY1 Guitar Footswitch:

I should have read the reviews before buying this. It worked for literally 30 minutes before it stopped grounding properly on the B channel. It's got a massive buzz in the B channel now when you are on the A channel, and my equipment is all brand new and highly shielded. Musician's Friend should remove this product (and ideally, this terrible manufacturer) from their line of products entirely. This isn't the first time I've had bad luck with Live Wire

I've only had it for about a month but has been used for at least two gigs and about 4 practices. I used it to switch between my electric guitar amp and acoustic guitar which i run through the PA. system. It works great ! No snapping noise from switching between the two channels or any feedback!!!

Bought two of these to switch between my prs and a strat.1for home rig 1 for gigs. Both of them failed in the same manner within days of each other. No output. Verified beyond any doubt. As always, mf has taken care of me. I'm now trying the fender aby. Just got them. Only thing for sure, they are tiny little things. Very cool how they handle switching. We'll see.

Comments about Livewire ABY1 Guitar Footswitch:

As a professional cruise ship musician, I'm used to perfoming in one venue then moving to another spot in short order. I carry 2 guitars and this makes the transition from one to the other instantly. I run each guitar into the ABY1, the Aby1 into a vocal harmonizer, into a second harmonizer, into a guitar processor pedal and then directly into the sound board. I don't use any amp. I carry a Gibson 335 and a Telecaster. Never a problem. Also, I called Musicians Friend to talk to customer service and the tech informed me that the pedal I was about to purchase was for 1 input and 2 output. They suggested this pedal instead. GREAT JOB, THANKS.

Comments about Livewire ABY1 Guitar Footswitch:

This box worked well for me for about 8 months doing as it said, but now it causes a significant signal decay. I can't use it anymore with my rig.

I did have it out on a professional tour but it isn't reliable enough anymore. Probably best for basement playing, but professionals who need quality and their equipment to work every time, look else where and don't be cheap. I'm regretting my purchase.

Comments about Livewire ABY1 Guitar Footswitch:

I wanted an AB switch that would allow me to choose between sending my guitar through one set of effects pedals, or sending it through a "Sonicport/iPad" set of effects. The guitar goes into the input of the AB switch, then A goes to my effects pedals and into the front of the amp, and B goes to the Sonicport and then to the return side of the effects loop of the same amp. I can switch between my conventional pedals and the Sonicport with just one switch (A or B). While I am running through the Sonicport, I can select and deselect pedals on the other channel, and while I am running through the pedals, I can likewise scroll through the effects on my iPad and select a new sound. This way, I am always connected and playing, even while rearranging pedals or the effect selection on the Sonicport. The switch is transparent with no hiss, additional sound, or loss of signal. Does't even need a power source (9v) to work (that only powers the LED indicators). Also has the option of A&B, which I'm not using, but does work (I've tried it). Can of course do all sorts of other switching combos. I may try using two separate amps, rather than the front and effects return of the same amp. The switch is reversible, too. For instance, you could run two guitars into the A and B jacks (can either be used as inputs or outputs), and use the center jack as the output to go to an amp, so you can switch instruments without changing cords. I've seen other AB switches at higher prices, but this switch gets the job done with no apparent drawbacks for a lot less cash. I would highly recommend if you have a need for this type of switch. Don't how it would hold up after many uses, but for now it's working great.
