This is the first cab I've ever owned with a 12 in it. All that I've heard about 12 cabs is true with this one. This cab has the "boom" of a 15, with the "punch" of a 10. I pair this cab up with Markbass' LM T800 head and it's great when you use it alone, and sounds amazing when paired with a NY 151 cab! This cab is great if you have a gig with a tricky load-in, or where you only bring one cab because you are only allowed a quick setup. I recently down-sized my vehicle so my NY 151 no longer fits in my trunk. This cab solved the problem of when I need to carry a powerful setup but at the same time it all has to fit inside my trunk. Lastly, this cab is as light as the specs say it is. I'm glad I purchased it and I highly recommend it.

Own the older ones, loved 'em and wanted to add on. Like reviewer Dezz said, no more B&C speakers and no more Italian light plywood. Looks like particle board inside and they don't sound the same. Now they us "yellow line" speakers that sound thin and twangy and have stamped frames instead of cast aluminium. Designed in Italy and assembled in Indonesia now. Compare with a made in Italy product. Fender Rumbles are the best sounding Indonesian made speakers and amps I've played and bought. These are not the amps and cabs that made Markbass famous. Guess rising labor and component costs caught up to them.

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

Been checking out small cabs to replace a 4 x 10. Read the reviews, played it at the local shop. Sounded great. When the price dropped I had to get it. I'm using it with a GK MB200 with the signal going to the house and love the sound. Warm and punchy. The tweeter dial-in is a very nice feature to customize your sound. No problem handling the low B on my six string and sounds great with my EUB. Invest in small cabinet stand to get it up off the floor. Quality product all around.

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

I purchased a Markbass CMD 121 P and this extension cab to have a lightweight powerful bass rig. At less than mid volume the speaker distorts and farts out. Markbass stopped using high quality B&C speakers about 2 years ago and I feel these new Markbass Yellow Line speakers are horrible. I returned this cabinet. Also it is covered in a rat hair carpet which is a magnet for dog hair and debris

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

Amazing sound. I needed a very portable amp for small venues and something light to carry and this was the trick for both. Plenty of power and good resonance without distortion from the single 12"speaker. I now use strictly mark bass amps and speakers because of their quality workmanship and dependability. If you need more direction from this amp, it would be helpful to place on sturdy amp stand. I use it with or without stand and love the sound either way. Depends on where you are playing. In my small church band I place on amp stand..other small room venues , I leave on floor and the bass won't over power small 3 instrument group. Buy one if these if that is what you need. I don't think you can go wrong with mark bass equipment. They have amps and cabinets for every occasion and need. I will soon try their new 300 watt amp head for my next purchase. Hope this has been helpful to future purchasers. Musicians Friend is the best place to get the best deals and financing options. I use this cabinet on it's own and with a 210 cabinet as well. In both configurations it works well. Not as "thumpy" as a 15, but close. Good sound.
Great portability and form factor, basically it is a cube.

Perfect weight and fits in a car
Matches my Mark Bass combo and gives it the extra bottom end
              Very well made
              A. Little pricey for a one twelve extension cabinet, but with discount and free shipping makes it a little easier to swallow

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

the only issue i have with it is i tend to toss it around cause it weighs 30 lbs. haha thats really it. but it has not broken or even scratched. this things is the best cabinet i have played with....ever...
if you have the CMD 121p you need this cabinet. it is perfect because you have the lows of a 15 and the highs of a 10 AND it carries your mids perfectly even if you scoop your sound for slap style. you can also adjust your tweeter which is a nice addition. if you have an amphead and need a light (30lb) cabinet this is your guy. speakon connections so you can piggie back to another speaker. (not recommended if you are hooking up a combo amp cause its too much for the combo amps head. and really... you dont need 3 cabinets with this set up)
built to match the Mini CMD 121p combo amp and it is an amazing little guy. well built and looks..... Cute when it has the combo amp on top of it.
great price for a DEPENDABLE 400 watt cabinet. it weighs 30 pounds thats enough to convince me to buy it.

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

I'd agree w/ the other reviewer. I use this w/ my 121P as needed. Fantastic sound and portability. A tad expensive. It works for my sound -vintage J or P bass w/ thomastic flats, upright w/ thomastics. Very clear tone. Punchy. Big bang for the size. Saves my 55 year old back and w/ the 121P I can cop most sounds..but nothing sounds like an SVt except an SVT. All in all it does cop a nice B15 sound if u tweak it or an Eden tone as well. Real versatile. Pro gear.

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

Great build quality. Added to my 121P combo it is the ultimate mini-stack. I wish they were both front ported however, but most small rigs today are not. The tone is as pure as you could want and easily adjusted. Easy carry. Been playing bass for 40 years and my old back loves the portability of these modern combos but I often miss the sound of my 70's SVT or Acoustic rig. ALl these newer class D type amps sound better for jazz than rock IMO.
