Comments about Marshall CODE 100W Guitar Amp Head:

I ordered this app to replace my Fender FM100 solid-state amp that I use on the clean Channel along with a Boss me-70 that was beginning to have issues with the pots after about 10 years of use. First of all, I will say that this has some of the best distortions I've heard and you can really get some great metal and rock tones. However the problem is channel. As a gigging musician I can't have a very noticeable delay in the switching between clean and distorted channels. This was totally unnecessary and a big design flaw. I tried to use that same boss pedal through the effects Loop so I would have volume control and effects and without it levels being to high it would cut off when I crank up the volume on the Marshall. Marshall head was being run through a carbon fiber 4 by 12 cab and did not have near the volume as did my Fender FM100 even at half way. The amp maybe great for use in the bedroom or a studio but not for gigging musicians. Very ashamed or Marshall, this could have been so much better. I promptly sent it back after about 3 weeks of trying to get it to work the way I needed it to.

Comments about Marshall CODE 100W Guitar Amp Head:

Played alot of Marshalls over the years. All of them were top notch big tube amps. Looking for something to use in my bedroom and small venues. This definitely covers it. The setup took about five minutes. The sound quality surprisingly better than expected for a solid state amp. I'm running vintage closed-back speaker cabinets (speaker selection is very important). Great amp for the money!

Comments about Marshall CODE 100W Guitar Amp Head:

Who needs tubes? The Marshall Code Rocks. Very versatile. Celestions sound great. 50 years of Marshall in one inexpensive little box! Louder than a 50 watt tube amp, but can also be played at bedroom levels without sacrifice, unlike a tube amp. SOOOOOooooo many different tones available. From clean to metal... From whisper quiet to full blown roar. All at a price that's unbelievable. 14 different preamps including JTM45 2245, 1962 Bluesbreaker, 1959SLP Plexi, JCM800 2203, JCM2555 Silver Jubilee, JCM2000 DSL100, and JVM410H. 24 different fx including the Marshall Guvnor,Compressor, classic stompbox Distortions, Auto Wah, Pitch Shifter, Chorus, Phaser, Flanger and Tremolo. I wish this amp were available 40 years ago when I started playing guitar!
