I own 5 of these pedals which I use for Expression and as Sustain for my Synths and Guitar Effects Pedals. The Quality of build is Moog Tough and for the price of these you cannot beat that to it's competitors. They are nice and heavy too so they sit nicely on the floor without sliding around on you like those cheap plastic ones. The unversatality of them helps me move them easily from one synth to the next and so forth. I prefer a pedal like this because it allows me to create a long droned out pad on a synth without have to keep my foot on a piano style or switch style sustain pedal and just let it drone forever. I'm probably going to be purchasing more in the future as the Synth collection continues to grow..

Maybe I'm using it wrong. But I doubt it, considering how someone else had the same problem- it works in reverse and that is uncomforatble (no, that's not the polarity switch issue). It's also huge, so you have to sumise a Captain Morgan stance to use it. The external knob doesn't do much.

I don't write reviews on things saying they are bad often. I usually try to find some good in them. Not this one. Sorry :/

Comments about Moog EP-3 Universal Expression Pedal:

Though it's made of plastic it still seems very sturdy. Of course my car ramps are made of plastic too and they can support a 3,000 pound car. I expect the pedal will last a long time and be dependable. It'll never rust. It's light weight and takes up a bit less space on the pedal board compared to my older Fender analog volume pedal.

Comments about Moog EP-3 Universal Expression Pedal:

This is an expression pedal. I bought it for use with the Moog ClusterFlux. Does exactly what it's supposed to do. There were previous complaints by other customers that it appeared to be "backwards" in its function. At the very least, the newer version has a switch on the bottom to reverse-polarize the pedal's use (the older version does not, but no longer a worry if you are buying new). This is a non-powered pedal - so no input voltage is required (or even possible - which, for me, is a plus. Pedal is solid as a rock, does exactly what it's advertised to do, and would definitely recommend it to anyone - as long as they can read, and understand what they want (I know it's asking a lot…)

Comments about Moog EP-3 Universal Expression Pedal:

I'm NOT usually an "early adopter", but I made an exception when the MF101 debuted. One of its most enticing aspects was real-time control over the parameters via expression pedal(s), so I was heartbroken by the EP-1's flimsy build. It lasted 15 yrs., though, about 14 1/2 more than I expected. Here's hoping the apparently-very-well-built EP-3 isn't the converse of that, because it meets the MF101's needs precisely, no compromise.

Comments about Moog EP-3 Universal Expression Pedal:

I bought this to use with a Boss PS-6. It doesn't work with it and made the PS-6 behave oddly even after it was unplugged. PS-6 has since returned to normal. I've seen forum posts that mention this pedal won't work with other Boss pedals as well. But I haven't tried it with anything but the PS-6.

The pedal itself is very well built and has a smooth sweep. For its price it's a great value.

I ended up buying the M-Audio EX-P which works great with the Boss and is cheaper in price but also much, much lower in quality. I bought the MF 2 year coverage for ten d0llar$ so price-wise it's a wash.

Comments about Moog EP-3 Universal Expression Pedal:

I bought the pedal to use as a volume pedal. It works, but it is backwards. To increase the volume, I push down with my heel. Pushing forward with my toes decreases the volume. I have never seen a pedal work like this before. I called one of the "Gear Heads" at Musicians Friend, and they said that is the way the pedal is constructed. I adjusted the 2 switches on the pedal. I tried a different cable. And I used every available jack on the keyboard. Still works backwards.
