Comments about Orange Amplifiers Dual Terror DT30H 30W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

it's been two years since i bought this amp.. Great tone, great dynamic, great overdriven sound, and great on every tiny thing that you can possibly imagine from a tube-driven amp.. it doesn't has 3-band EQ, but you can still have a satisfying sound from the tone knob.. turn the tone knob with your eyes closed, and you cannot get any harsh from it, similar good ol' thing on Tube Screamer stompbox's knob.
portable and lightweight foe any gigs? no doubt..
put 2 of your 1/4" jacks on both 8 ohm outputs on the back of the head, and connect those onto cabinet's inputs (i'm using Orange PPC 112), and you'll get a bit wider sound..
the only lack of Dual Terror is "no FX Loop". I'm using Carbon Copy Delay, and i have to set the Carbon Copy's output extremely low to play staccato (about 9 o'clock on clean, and 8.30 on overdrive), since every stompbox (including analog delay) hit the preamp section, the signal was massively amplified.. above that, clarity's vanished.. but no problem if you're using that much delay for some U2's styles..
oops, one more thing.. there's no difference beetwen the 2 channels (tiny terror & fat).. it's exactly the same tone.. but then, you still can use it properly as 2 channel amp..
still nice for both clean & overdrive, on any given 412 cab available on the stage..
no doubt for the tones, clarity, overdriven sound, and dynamic.. and it's surely portable amps for gigging, recording, or anywhere the music takes you (written on the box)

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Dual Terror DT30H 30W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

I wanted to wait a few weeks (3) and use this amp before I wrote this. I have been playing in bands for over 45 yrs. As someone said, "I don't know how I lived this long without this amp". I play this head with 2, 1x12 closed back Orange Cabs. The sound is fantastic at high volume, or at low volume. It goes from crystal clarity, to liquid distortion, with no loss of quality sound. I play a Fender Telecaster and a Les Paul Standard. They have never sounded better, and neither have I. Finally found that sound that I have been searching for. If your thinking about getting this amp, do it! It has reignited may passion for playing. You can thank me later !!!!

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Dual Terror DT30H 30W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

This amp is amazing. I just got a week ago so i can't speak to longevity but it sounds wonderful. The cleans sparkle and dirty stuff sounds like British magic. I just played a small gig with this thing and it was easy to carry and screamed over the drummer even on the 15 watt setting. Plus the 7 watt setting can keep it quiet enough to be played in my apartment. Bottom line this is a fantastic sounding amp.

I honestly don't know how I ever lived this long without this Orange Dual Terror! I run it into a Celestion Vintage 30 loaded 4-12 closed back speaker. I love the sound. I own 10 guitars & they all sound great. My Les Paul Standard sounds so good,Icouldn't put it down. My Tele sounds pretty amazing also. I Love this amp.

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Dual Terror DT30H 30W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

I have had this amp for several months now, I run it through a 1X12 Ampeg cab loaded with a V30. The amp is quite versatile. theres enough growl while still maintaining headroom. The amp cleans up very well. The different wattage settings and tube settings are great. Keeps up well on stage in the studio and in rehearsal. Very portable as stated many times. very quick to find the tones you want. alot of people have issues with the lack of an effects loop but to be honest ive never been bothered and i think its great that there is less between you and your tone. one interesting thing i noticed is how low the noise floor is on this amp even at loud volume and higher gain settings. this amp gives lots of flexibility and variety to your sound.

I just gigged with this amp in a band with a 2nd guitar player and it cut through...on the 15 watt setting! It's lightweight, versatile, has amazing tone, amazing sustain and IMO a 1x12 is plenty. A 1x12 and this head are so easy to transport it's ridiculous. Takes pedals well....love it!

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Dual Terror DT30H 30W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

I walked in to [@] to buy the new Mesa Boogie Mini Rectifier and, upon the advice of the saleseman, I tried the Orange Dual Terror side by side on the same cab. Thank God I did because this think is awesome. Had much more of a presence than the Mini Rec. Thegain on the Fat channel was incredible. Yes it does not have al the bells and wistles that the Boogie has, but to me, the sound was just better tonally (more organic). I also tried it with a Radial Tonebone Hot British distortion and an Mxr Graphic EQ runing into the front of the amp, and it was just awesome. Do yourself a favor and take the same approach. You will find that it really is the king of this class. WOW!! Buy it!!!!

            Orange Dual Terror amp head

            By Agnes Rock

            from Las Vegas , Nevada

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Dual Terror DT30H 30W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

As stated prior, the versatility of clean tone and distorted tone in the same amp package is a win.
Plenty of power for most gigs, and the only down side for me is no internal reverb.
However, the tone of this rig rocks right on, and I find it to be a great amp head for local club work, which is where I work most of my gigs.

If you need to do a LARGE hall, I reccommend miking the unit as well as outdoor concerts. For most standard size rooms, the unit will compensate well, and hold up the guitar to a hot mix.
This unit sound great, It has an el34 output section and preamp tubes that really warm up the tone.
It has the clean sound, as well as the cranked overdrive sound associated with Marshall, and Fender. With its light weight, ease of use, and reliability I give a ten out of ten.
The only down side is the amp has NO reverb, so you need to add an extenal reverb to get that effect. I have one, and it really added to the depth of the amp.

I really reccomend this amp for folks who don't want the hassle of a heavy cabinet head, and like the portability. Win win for the consumer.

            Agnes Rock
Build quality excellent. Sturdy metal, with a chrome handle. TUFF
Value wise, this amp is a pretty good match for the price. Its not the cheapest rig on the block, but the quality and tone, and adaptability is what you get. Its a fair price for a good piece of gear.

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Dual Terror DT30H 30W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

I love the sound of this amp. It's very simple to use. I had an effects loop put into mine, but it only effects the fat channel. It has very good clean and distortion tones. I wish it had a solo boost, then it would be perfect.
