Comments about Orange Amplifiers Micro Terror MT20 20W Hybrid Guitar Amp Head:
I'm a retired farmer just getting back into music. I play an autoharp in rat hole bars and to small outdoor concerts. I'm using the Micro Terror to power an old Music Man 412GS half stack cab and run my peddle board through that. I split the signal to either a Line 6 Low Down 70W bass amp or an old Danelectro 1483 amp. the Micro has no trouble keeping up with the other two amps. Even outdoors I don't think I have gotten it above 3 or 4 on the volume. I can't use it in the rat hole because it is just too powerful.

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Micro Terror MT20 20W Hybrid Guitar Amp Head:
This amp is Great, bottom line. I have it hooked up to a bugera 212 and this thing gets loud enough to play with a Vox AC 15. This amp has a great clean tone though it can be tough to get a loud crystal clear clean. The gain is great. This amp handles all of my pedals great. In my opinion it works best with an 8 ohm cab, with a 4 ohm it breaks up with humbuckers and my CS-3 overdrive

Great amp head. Picked it up after watching some reviews online. The Micro Terror is the first product I have purchased, or used from Orange. I am very satisfied with it. I am using a Kustom KG412 and it sounds great. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/amplifiers-effects/kustom-kg412-4x12-guitar-speaker-cabinet

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Micro Terror MT20 20W Hybrid Guitar Amp Head:
I am a bass/keyboard player in a local gigging band and first tried this to be used as a studio head and as a backup in case my guitar players Marshall died during a gig. I was so excited for it I built my own cabinet with 1 Jensen mod 10- 50 10 inch 4 ohm speaker. At first I was a little disappointed, it sounded dry and small with no depth. after 2 hours pushing the volume, the speaker broke in beautifully and sounds great with my LP and amazing with my handmade strat. I dialed in my sound and the tonal variety is immense. It sounds big and deep and it is LOUD!! It will power my guitar players 4x10 8 ohm cabinet but to take full advantage of this little gem, use a 4 ohm cabinet (1x10, 2x10 or 1x12). It keeps up with the band beautifully and would not need a mic for smaller clubs. This is the best value in amps today. If you need more power, buy 2 and you can play anywhere.

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Micro Terror MT20 20W Hybrid Guitar Amp Head:
This amp is the best bang for your buck out there. I thought that having only one 12AX7 would not give a real tube sound, or the "Orange" sound, but it does a great job. I played this head through a Celestion Vintage 30 12" speaker. Wow! This amp can get loud, and the tone was great. The single tone knob functions quite well. I generally leave it at noon, 10 or 1 since I do not like too much bright bite. For clean, I set gain to 9 o'clock and volume to noon, or whatever your neighbours and family will tolerate. For crunch, set gain to noon. For harder rock, set gain to 3 or 5. It is not an amp for playing metal unless you have other pedals at the front end. Throw in a reverb pedal with a 1x12 speaker and you're rockin'. Well worth buying. I will not be selling mine, regardless of any other amps that I may purchase in the future.

This little thing looks like a joke but the pure volume and tone of this thing is unbelieveable! I use this in combination with a Marshall DSL 15H and MG 4x12 cab and the micro more than holds its own! It can absolutely power a 4x12 by itself no problem!

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Micro Terror MT20 20W Hybrid Guitar Amp Head:
This amp screams. I play an Orange Rocker 30 combo, and was looking for a more portable alternative for gigs that are difficult to get to, but would have a cab there. Looking at small tube amps in the ultraportable/lunchbox space, this amp surprised me with it's tone, volume, and size. Sure, there are better sounding and more dynamic amps out there, but at this price and size? No way.
I play a combination of classic rock/jam rock/country with either a Gibson LP or 339. This amp provides a perfect base for pedals and dirties up nicely when set for a clean to edge of break up tone. Volume wise, it's perfect for small to medium club gigs when mic'd. For practice, I play out of a 1x12 cab and crank the volume to 10, gain around 5, and it keeps up with the full band beautifully.
If you're looking for a sweet, little tonemeister that gives you a great sound, in a SOLID, portable package, and at an affordable price, check out the Micro Terror. I was totally surprised and I could not be happier.
Also, don't let the solid state power section turn you off, this amp practically sounds like an all tube amp. Push it with boost/compression and it dirties up a bit. Back off the volume on your guitar, it cleans up. Give one a try. You'll be glad you did.
(I'd avoid trying it through the paired 1x8in speaker. The mini cab makes the amp sound small. Play it through a 1x12 or bigger. Bigger the cab, bigger the amp sounds).

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Micro Terror MT20 20W Hybrid Guitar Amp Head:
Great little amp, especially considering the super low price. Very loud & punchy tone. Distortion falls more into the Overdrive/Classic Rock type of range. Not going to get you a scooped Death Metal tone, but would work fine for most Classic & Hard Rock type applications. Running clean, it's got plenty of power & works well with pedals. Would need some sort of compressor up front for a snappy, country tone...but probably quite doable. Effects Loop & Bass/Treble controls would be nice...but for the price the great tone is enough.
