Killer all-tube tone and rugged build.

The Clubster continues the Rivera Amplifier tradition for some of the best tone on the planet, and for rugged construction and long life. Compact and lightweight, yet big on tone, the all-tube 25W Clubster guitar amplifier will please amateurs and pros alike.

The Clubster puts 25W of 6V6GT power through a 12" Rivera Celestion Vintage Gold speaker. The amp uses two 12AX7 preamp tubes - reliable and easily accessible for service. Built with a full plywood cabinet, welded zinc-plated steel chassis, audiophile-quality components, and military-grade construction. Comes with a footswitchable Accutronics 3-spring mechanical reverb and a 2-function footswitch.

Around back, an effects patch loop is provided along with an external speaker jack and a line output for recording or P.A. feeds. The power cord is detachable and easy to replace.

Clubsters have two completely independent preamp channels, each with its own EQ section. Channel 1 is a high-gain channel with 3-band EQ and a switchable gain boost, and Channel 2 is a sparkly clean channel with 2-band EQ and enough gain and headroom to overdrive the power amp when needed.

Dialing up clean and distortion tones has never been easier. From Mississippi Delta Blues to Birmingham Steel Rock to Nashville Clean, your tone is home with the Clubster amp.

The Clubster is a professional amp suitable for serious working musicians, yet it is quite affordable. Casuals like a wedding or party could not be any easier, due to the compact size, low weight, and abundance of fine tone.

For recording, Clubsters do the job well. Utilizing good miking technique in recording situations, this small package of excellent tone will lay down great sounding tracks. You can also use the Clubster to power an external Rivera 412 cabinet, allowing you to record stack sounds easily.

Comments about Rivera Clubster 25W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

If you buy this model, be prepared to give the Seventy 80 a good break-in period. It will sound terrible until it loosens up. After break in, you will see why it was chosen for this amp. I have tried other speakers - British and American voiced models-I can't find a better match for this amp than the Seventy 80. This amp does not need or want a +100 dB speaker.
Tube wise-it came with matched EH 6V6 tubes. Very nice. I tried some JJ 6V6S power tubes-also very nice. The 12AX7 WXT preamp was replaced with a JJ ECC83S - noticeably nicer to my ears. Left the phase inverter alone.
Both clean and OD channels are plenty adequate for my playing styles and the power matches up well for the venues I play. Breakup at 7 on the clean channel is very sweet and not too compressed. Very sensitive to the strength of your guitar signal. Takes pedals well...but i don't use them much with this amp-no need.
The Pull-Boost on the OD channel takes you to JCM 800 land, for sure. Very nice renditions of Deluxe Reverb, Plexi Marshall and JCM 800 Marshall. I love this amp.

        Great Features.

Comments about Rivera Clubster 25W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I love this amp and I will not part with it, however, we need to be honest about some things when you pay this much for an amp.

Tone. Clean channel is unmatched; you cannot do better than this. Subjectively, almost independent of speaker, the clean channel is AAAAA first call undeniable. The overdrive has a fender-vibe but without the loose bottom end. With stock Celestion 70/80 it is just too buzzy; can't use a humbucker guitar on there....low or high input; just too buzzy, however it sounds very nice on single coil guitars including P90s.

Very nice is not equivalent to a high priced price.

I bought a bunch of replacement speakers (and I vehemently disagree with the RIvera speaker shootout video tones cause those speakers all sound bad and there are phase cancellations no matter how well you try to position two mics on one speaker....all you need is one SM81 and thats it)

I installed the Eminence Governer in my Clubster and I feel that speaker is much better suited to the overdrive character...to me it sounds much better and much less buzzy now. I also have a Jensen P12R to try and an Eminence Copperhead....right now the Governer is good though.

After upgrade of the speaker, I give this amp a 9 overall, but not from the factory.
Great features...at this price i think the boost should be on the footswitch so we have to knock it down a bit...and the stock speaker, in my subjective opinion, is a really poor choice for the overdrive character....more on that later.
I could nit pick here but I think the build could not be executed much better than what they have done here...the reason it gets an 8 is that one of the output 6V6 is on the verge of shorting or opening or is just plain microphonic after maybe 20 hours of use, at home. no gigs. The rest of the build is stellar, clean and neat and fit and finish is very very good.
hard to judge because of the startup issues, however, I love this amp and recognize the potential it has....the build, the design and the concept are great. The stock speaker was a very unfortunate choice for this amp. I would have expected something custom designed to match the character of the overdrive. The stock speaker is fine on the clean channel.

        Deluxe Reverb?

Comments about Rivera Clubster 25W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I was looking for a modern sounding, small, tube, gig-worthy amp when I got the Clubster. It is lighter than a deluxe reverb but sounds way bigger. I think it will work fine in any small gig. At high volumes it absolutely kills the DRRI. No comparison. No flabby loose bass here. I agree with the other post about the stock Celestion, I think an Eminence or Tone Tubby would do this amp wonders. I don't know what all the fuss is about the distortion, I like it. It is smoother, reminds me of early Mesa. The only thing I would have liked is a footswitchable boost, but thats a nit. Overall it's a light, great gig amp that is built like a tank, as all Rivera amps are.

Great combo for blues and jazz

        By Lloyd-REa7w

        from Atlanta

Comments about Rivera Clubster 25W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I've been looking for a lower powered amp that I could crank and push the power tubes to get a good, warm tone. While you will sacrifice a little headroom, the tone is well worth it. I would chatergorize this as a Deluxe Reverb with more muscle...which isn't a bad thing at all. I've seen criticism of not being able to switch the boost function, but I didn't find that to be a problem. My one complaint, and that's a small one, is I find the Celestion 70/80 to be a rather sterile, and sometimes shrill, speaker. I put in an Eminence Cannibis Rex speaker, and this amp came alive and warmed up considerably. Pull the bright switch and you've got Fender tone for days, but with a bit more mid warmth. I love this amp.

        Very good amp!

Comments about Rivera Clubster 25W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp is amazing. It has a pretty big EQ and the EQ's for the drive and the clean channels are seperate. The bass knob on the drive EQ is a push/pull knob that switchs the bass w/ gain. The clean channel EQ has a 'bright' push pull knob(fender type sound). The sound this amp produces is amazing.Bluesy drive, hard rock drive(AC/DC and led zeppelin) and even metal(however you need a guitar with high output humbuckers to get metal sound). The clean channel is stunning and loud compared to the drive channel. This amp definitly worth the money and I'm happy I bought one.

        Awsome amp!

        By Stratlover-mW7Mo

Comments about Rivera Clubster 25W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I have been through several amps, including a Fender HRDLX, Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue and several others. This amp is by far my favorite. It nails the Fender clean sound, change to channel 2 for a nice slightly dirty blues tone, or switch on the boost and get a classic Marshall one...think Bluesbreakers Beano sound. This is the perfect amp for small gigs and jamming with friends. I highly recommend it.
