Comments about Rivera Clubster 25W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
I love this amp and I will not part with it, however, we need to be honest about some things when you pay this much for an amp.
Tone. Clean channel is unmatched; you cannot do better than this. Subjectively, almost independent of speaker, the clean channel is AAAAA first call undeniable. The overdrive has a fender-vibe but without the loose bottom end. With stock Celestion 70/80 it is just too buzzy; can't use a humbucker guitar on there....low or high input; just too buzzy, however it sounds very nice on single coil guitars including P90s.
Very nice is not equivalent to a high priced price.
I bought a bunch of replacement speakers (and I vehemently disagree with the RIvera speaker shootout video tones cause those speakers all sound bad and there are phase cancellations no matter how well you try to position two mics on one speaker....all you need is one SM81 and thats it)
I installed the Eminence Governer in my Clubster and I feel that speaker is much better suited to the overdrive character...to me it sounds much better and much less buzzy now. I also have a Jensen P12R to try and an Eminence Copperhead....right now the Governer is good though.
After upgrade of the speaker, I give this amp a 9 overall, but not from the factory.
Great features...at this price i think the boost should be on the footswitch so we have to knock it down a bit...and the stock speaker, in my subjective opinion, is a really poor choice for the overdrive character....more on that later.
I could nit pick here but I think the build could not be executed much better than what they have done here...the reason it gets an 8 is that one of the output 6V6 is on the verge of shorting or opening or is just plain microphonic after maybe 20 hours of use, at home. no gigs. The rest of the build is stellar, clean and neat and fit and finish is very very good.
hard to judge because of the startup issues, however, I love this amp and recognize the potential it has....the build, the design and the concept are great. The stock speaker was a very unfortunate choice for this amp. I would have expected something custom designed to match the character of the overdrive. The stock speaker is fine on the clean channel.
Comments about Rivera Clubster 25W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
I was looking for a modern sounding, small, tube, gig-worthy amp when I got the Clubster. It is lighter than a deluxe reverb but sounds way bigger. I think it will work fine in any small gig. At high volumes it absolutely kills the DRRI. No comparison. No flabby loose bass here. I agree with the other post about the stock Celestion, I think an Eminence or Tone Tubby would do this amp wonders. I don't know what all the fuss is about the distortion, I like it. It is smoother, reminds me of early Mesa. The only thing I would have liked is a footswitchable boost, but thats a nit. Overall it's a light, great gig amp that is built like a tank, as all Rivera amps are.
Comments about Rivera Clubster 25W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
I've been looking for a lower powered amp that I could crank and push the power tubes to get a good, warm tone. While you will sacrifice a little headroom, the tone is well worth it. I would chatergorize this as a Deluxe Reverb with more muscle...which isn't a bad thing at all. I've seen criticism of not being able to switch the boost function, but I didn't find that to be a problem. My one complaint, and that's a small one, is I find the Celestion 70/80 to be a rather sterile, and sometimes shrill, speaker. I put in an Eminence Cannibis Rex speaker, and this amp came alive and warmed up considerably. Pull the bright switch and you've got Fender tone for days, but with a bit more mid warmth. I love this amp.
Comments about Rivera Clubster 25W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
This amp is amazing. It has a pretty big EQ and the EQ's for the drive and the clean channels are seperate. The bass knob on the drive EQ is a push/pull knob that switchs the bass w/ gain. The clean channel EQ has a 'bright' push pull knob(fender type sound). The sound this amp produces is amazing.Bluesy drive, hard rock drive(AC/DC and led zeppelin) and even metal(however you need a guitar with high output humbuckers to get metal sound). The clean channel is stunning and loud compared to the drive channel. This amp definitly worth the money and I'm happy I bought one.
Comments about Rivera Clubster 25W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
I have been through several amps, including a Fender HRDLX, Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue and several others. This amp is by far my favorite. It nails the Fender clean sound, change to channel 2 for a nice slightly dirty blues tone, or switch on the boost and get a classic Marshall one...think Bluesbreakers Beano sound. This is the perfect amp for small gigs and jamming with friends. I highly recommend it.

Very good clean tone.Average distorted tone.Solid construction, easy to use controls, pedal included, easy to reach tubes. No manual, tube designations not marked, pedal jack at front, poor web site.
