I got this little amp to put in my shop where I work on broken guitars or upgrade guitar electrics. It can sit on a shelf out of the way of the real business of the guitar work and will let me know if the frigging thing (the guitar) works, or not. I did play a double soapbar on it and it actually did OK with the exception of low tones, so I had to turn the base all the way up on this little critter. A good amp for my application.

This amp has pretty decent tone for a beginner or for travel, etc. The only thing that I do not like about it - when I got this one for my girfriend a year ago, it did not include a swith for the boost/overdrive - it is always on, so if I turn the gain up, there is overdrive. This drives me nuts, but as you can see in the picture, the current model has an overdrive (or gain boost) selector switch.

If you want a cheap, decent, small practice amp, definitely go for it. It's great for that purpose. Rogue is a good brand for the price of their products. I own a Rogue acoustic guitar which is great, a bass by them which sounds better than my Fender, and my girlfriend has an electric guitar by them(and this amp). All are good products, especially the bass and acoustic.

great for practicing and quiet enought to practice without disturbing others but loud enough to jam.

SURPRISINGLY GOOD SOUND

Comments about Rogue G10 10W 1x5 Guitar Combo Amp:

The Rogue G10 guitar amp looks like a quality made little practice amp. It is, but the sound is surprisingly full and clean, even on the distorted setting. It makes a nice "top end boost" sound to a larger amp that needs a bit more upper mids.

Comments about Rogue G10 10W 1x5 Guitar Combo Amp:

Yes, it is a 30 dollar practice amp. But for the size and money it is probably one of the best you'll get. Granted, I don't qualify as an expert. But I would definately recommend this to anyone on a budget.

Great little amp

Comments about Rogue G10 10W 1x5 Guitar Combo Amp:

I was wanting something portable that I could tuck away under my desk at home and pull out to practice, write songs, etc. with my old Strat. This is it. It plays clean and simple or as dirty as I want. It is surprisingly good in lower tones. I have two other amps that are big and not so portable. I have had other little amps -- Kustom, Peavy, Fender -- and this one does everything I enjoyed about any of those with (subjectively) better tone than the Kustom or the Peavy.
I didn't expect much and got more than that. The overdrive feature is as good as other small amps I have owned with that feature. Otherwise, it is basic, simple, and quite able to do exactly what I want in a small, portable amp.
Great quality for the price.
I have found nothing better for the money.

Comments about Rogue G10 10W 1x5 Guitar Combo Amp:

Next to the Washburn wd10 I purchased from Musicians Friend,(which is a great guitar) This is the best value for your hard earned dollars. Sounds great!! Much more than a practice amp.Put a pedal on it and mic it to a PA, and you won't believe the sound. Good products and great service from this website. Can't ask for more than that. Thanks!!!!

Comments about Rogue G10 10W 1x5 Guitar Combo Amp:

Getting back into playing guitar after a forced absence (due to rheumatoid arthritis) of many years, and wanted an inexpensive practice amp to get started again. This fit the bill, and at the best price for a small practice amp on the market.

Sound quality? Acceptable for a small practice amp. It's a tough-built little thing too. Basic controls, inputs, and outputs. I do wish there was another input for a CD or mic, but, one can pay more and get those if needed. Expectations properly aligned, I am pleased with this purchase.

Comments about Rogue G10 10W 1x5 Guitar Combo Amp:

This is a tiny, 10 watt amp. If you're expecting to fill a large room, you're in for disappointment. If you want a very, very small amp for monitoring or practice and don't need a lot of volume, this unit delivers a remarkable sound in a remarkably compact package. It is also remarkably cute!

Really nice beginner amp

By George Williams

from Arizona

Comments about Rogue G10 10W 1x5 Guitar Combo Amp:

I have had this amp for about 7 or 8 months now and have used it at least 10 hours a week during that time.
Being a beginner's device there is not really too much to be had for feature on this amp. It has a master volume and tonal controls (bass/trebel) as well as a distortion button. It also has a jack for headphones.

Over all if it pretty basic with no extra settings like you might find on some of the more expensive amps.
It seems to be very well built and sturdy. I have droped it a few times but it still works pretty well. The carrying strap can be a bit of a pain though if yo have big hands or think fingers as there is not much give to be had there.

The tonal quality is pretty good but then again I have nothing to compare it to. However when you get up into the upper registers with a guitar (high strings) with the distortion button down there can be some ringing. I noticed this when playing the Holloween theme on distortion.

The only guitar I have played through it is the Rockband 3 Squier, however I am getting myself a Les Paul 100 for X-Mas so it may sound different with a higher class guitar (probably not though).
I got this amp when it was on sale, it is a bit more expensive right now but I think for a beginner it is worth the price.
