I got this little amp to put in my shop where I work on broken guitars or upgrade guitar electrics. It can sit on a shelf out of the way of the real business of the guitar work and will let me know if the frigging thing (the guitar) works, or not. I did play a double soapbar on it and it actually did OK with the exception of low tones, so I had to turn the base all the way up on this little critter. A good amp for my application.

This amp has pretty decent tone for a beginner or for travel, etc. The only thing that I do not like about it - when I got this one for my girfriend a year ago, it did not include a swith for the boost/overdrive - it is always on, so if I turn the gain up, there is overdrive. This drives me nuts, but as you can see in the picture, the current model has an overdrive (or gain boost) selector switch.

If you want a cheap, decent, small practice amp, definitely go for it. It's great for that purpose. Rogue is a good brand for the price of their products. I own a Rogue acoustic guitar which is great, a bass by them which sounds better than my Fender, and my girlfriend has an electric guitar by them(and this amp). All are good products, especially the bass and acoustic.

Comments about Rogue G10 10W 1x5 Guitar Combo Amp:

I am very happy with this little amp. I use it at home and keep the volume at a minimum and the guitar volume low for a decent quality that I am happy with. Not for professional use but very good for a home amp at a very affordable price.

Comments about Rogue G10 10W 1x5 Guitar Combo Amp:

I acquired this amp in a trade, and it is what it is...a practice amp.
Great for beginners or a student. Don't do spend a butt ton of money on a beginner, when you can get something like this, to insure they want to play.

I would suggest this amp for beginners or students, or even someone who just wants a little travel amp to mess around with, without having to drag around a huge amp.

    Hope this helps!

Comments about Rogue G10 10W 1x5 Guitar Combo Amp:

I needed a travel amp, saw this on MF and ordered it. I used it a couple of weeks and gave it to a beginner. Other than the low price, this did not fit my needs. The tones were nothing special at all and it looks like it would make it through two or three plane rides in a suitcase and die. If you need a low cost portable amp that has lots of features, pass on this (even with the bargain basement price) and get either the Marshall MG2CFX (which is really good, solid, with usable features) or one of the micro Orange models. After giving this amp away, I got the Marshall MG2 for my business trips -- it works on both 110 and 220 power, works on battery power, has usable effects (delay, flanger, phaser, reverb), good tuner, aux in, heaphone in, nice marshally tones, and is solidly built. I really dont think this amp will last long if used as aportable amp.

This is good for my 9 year old son as he figures out whether he wants to stick with the guitar. However, the sound quality is not that great -- even a 9 year old can tell that. I recommend it to parents who want to invest little upfront with the fear that in 3 months your kid will be onto something else. Otherwise, I suggest buying a better model and not cheaping out.

Low volume practice is what I got this for and I can get what I need out of this little amp. I already have bigger amps and can't get a low volume sound out of them.
I can use head phones on all my amps but wanted a small amp without using headphones.

Comments about Rogue G10 10W 1x5 Guitar Combo Amp:

If you think about it- for what you pay- (for chump change) what is guy supposed to expect from a cheap amp??... (the answer is- If you have any common sense, you shouldn't expect a lot.) If you have the volume on this thing cranked up with headphones you can easily hurt yourself. The amp has gobs of headroom. The clean channel is remarkably clear and has pleasing sound. Great for a bedroom amp to test new guitars without hauling out tons of gear and/or effects that you really don't need. Keep it simple. The downside is it's no Mesa Boogie. The overdrive channel brings new meaning to dirty sound, but not in the way you would want anyone to hear. The tones break up into fuzzy gritty funk, -and not a pleasant thing to listen to. So it is what it is. An honest, cheap, smoking hot value - for the cost, you can do much more than you could imagine from it, and you will be more than pleased with it.

Not completely horrible for someone who is just learning and still trying to figure out if this is something they like. The sound wasn't too bad, my main complaint was the Gain is full on or full off. Mine has some issues, after a week, the amp started buzzing, and now it is constant, and the headphone jack only works if you put the plug in just far enough to work, if you push it all the way in, no sound. I bought this to have a second small practice amp around and it works well enough to teach the little one how to play.
