From clean boost to creamy-smooth sustain to raging harmonic complexity, the new VHT V-Drive overdrive pedal's unique controls offer an amazingly wide range of tones and textures at an awesome value. In addition to standard Drive and Volume controls, the VHT V-Drive offers four more unique controls.
Select
The V-Drive's 11-position Select switch provides ten different clipping diode configurations plus a clean-boost diode-bypass mode. (Clipping diodes are the heart and soul of nearly every classic overdrive pedal design, and the type and configuration of these diodes defines the overdrive texture and dynamic response character.)
The V-Drive's Select switch replicates the diode type and configuration of the most popular overdrive pedals of the '80s and '90s as well as some of today's most sought-after boutique designs. The V-Drive also offers several new diode types and configurations for some fresh tones for the future, enabling players to make their own unique contributions to the advancement of the art of overdrive.
Texture
The V-Drive's Texture control adjusts the overdrive texture and harmonic content. Working in conjunction with the Select switch, these two controls provide an unprecedented range of fine-tunable overdrive choices. Warm and smooth or bristling with harmonic activity, the choice—and voice—is yours.
Depth
The V-Drive's unique 11-position Depth control fine-tunes the low-end response to perfectly voice the overdrive depth to suit a wide range of guitars, pickups, and musical styles.
Tone
The V-Drive's Tone knob is voiced higher than is commonly expected. Unlike most overdrive pedals, it adjusts the treble content without altering the midrange. The V-Drive's Tone control works in conjunction with the Depth control to provide a wider and more useful EQ-shaping range than conventional overdrive tone controls.
Voltage
The unique Voltage control uses a special voltage multiplying integrated circuit to increase the pedal's operating voltage for a tighter, punchier, crisper, quicker-responding and more authoritative tone—ordinary 9-volt pedals can't match this new level of dynamic response. The Voltage control can also reduce the V-Drive's operating voltage to as low as 5 volts for a softer and spongier attack.

Arguably the PERFECT overdrive! All analog, true bypass, this pedal is a tonal encyclopedia. Any overdriven sound you can think of, and more, can be had on this pedal then tweaked to your exact specification. With the V-drive you can dial in everything you want and dial out everything you dont. Once you select the clipping threshhold you want, the depth and tone knobs allows you to isolate that perfect EQ without changing whats so great about the sound to begin with. The texture knob is nothing short of revolutionary, letting you adjust how much harmonic content you want. All the way down- warm and buttery smooth all the way up-every note is almost a pinch harmonic on the verge of feedback! And lastly the voltage knob is SICK! you can turn it down to 5v, giving a wet, spongier response. 18v gives a super NASTY, quick responding MEAN overdrive. Anything short of distortion this pedal can do. Buy it now before they start selling it for $200 or they stop making it, which would be a travesty to the world of electric guitar! The future is now and VHT knew it when they built this one! KUDOS to them and its about time for us!!!

you would be hard pressed to find a better sounding and more versitile pedal at double this price point......IF AT ALL!

This is a great overdrive. But, remember, it's a overdrive not a distortion pedal. I've been playing for over 25 years and have had my fair share of overdrives. Some wre good, some sucked my tone and some just sound lame. If your looking for a extremely versitile overdrive, I would definently recommend this pedal. There are tons of very usable, musical tones possible with this pedal. I have have played a Ibanez RG2550 and a Charvel Desolation through this pedal and they both sounded great. The overdrive is very transparent and lets the true sound of your guitar come through. The controls are very active and really add to your tone. It sustains very well and just plain sounds good. The best overdrive I have owned. Definently adding it to my pedal board.

I WISH I HAD A PEDAL LIKE THIS YEARS AGO! TURN UP A TUBE AMP TIL IT'S ON THE VERGE OF BREAKING UP , KICK ON THE OD AND DON'T BE SHY ABOUT TWEAKING KNOBS. THEN USE YOUR GUITARS VOLUME TO CONTROL THE DIRT.
MOST VERSATILE OD PEDAL I HAVE EVER USED.
SEEMS TO HAVE GOOD BUILD, POTS HAVE A SOLID FEEL.
EXCELLENT BANG FOR THE BUCK
