Legendary VOX vintage tone – preserved in the definitive mini tube amp.

The VOX AC4TVmini tube guitar combo amp joins the AC4TV, AC4TV8 and AC4TVH as the newest – and most diminutive – member of the modern AC4 family. Based on the popular VOX AC4 from the 1960s, these all-tube practice amps have been factory-modded with a premium transformer and select components for optimum tone. Equipped with an original VOX design 6.5" speaker, the AC4TVmini is an easy way to enjoy the serious vintage sound you expect from VOX.

The original AC4, reborn with today's technology
The AC4TVmini improves on the hardware of its vintage counterpart. This up-to-date Class A version retains the distinctive EL84 power tube of the original and features a 12AX7 powered pre-amp, delivering the pure British tone that's loved by all. By adjusting the volume and tone settings, you can create a broad range of tones – from a sweet, clean sound to that distinctive VOX overdrive sound.

Switchable output level: Crank it up and turn it down!
In the past, the only way to obtain great-sounding distortion using a single volume knob was to simply crank the volume. The AC4TVmini provides an attenuator switch that allows the output power to be set at 4 Watts, 1 Watt or even 1/10th of a Watt. This convenient and ear-saving feature allows the AC4TVmini to create a real, musically satisfying distortion – even at the lowest power setting. You'll be able to enjoy playing to your heart's content with your favorite tone late at night, in your dorm room – wherever! Extremely portable, the AC4TVmini is also ideal for recording, jamming with friends, rehearsals, and more.

    Small and stylish
Today's modern AC4 Series – including the AC4TVmini – borrows the retro-chic "TV" front styling that first appeared on the classic 1958 AC15. This vintage VOX design is still in use on today's AC15HTV from the VOX Heritage Collection. Stylish, clean, and classic, the AC4TVmini will look great anywhere your music takes you.

    VOX AC4TV AMP

    | Review By: Tim Myrick | 2 months, 1 week ago

    Features:

For an amp this size, it's got what it needs. Tubes, attenuator, tone & volume.

    Quality:

Well built. I don't see a problem here other than the 6.5 speaker being on the low end side. But for the money...? WOW!

    Value:

You CANNOT be serious, if you're not luvin a tube amp, with atten., and an out ,for this kinda $. I got mine off SDOD,  so I'm REALLY happy!

    Overall:

I like to plug a Digitech Hendrix pedal into the front of this, and it's mind-blowing ( not my playing,,,just the sound...). Hey, it's not a vintage top boost, but it is a great little practice amp. Sounds good clean, works well with pedals, can push an ext. cabinet,...all for a C-note! I see that it's being discontinued, ( maybe that's why it was on SDOD ), if so , BIG MISTAKE for VOX ! This amp beats they're solid state stuff, for less price.

    Features:

Basic.  Not sure what else you can say.  Volume, tons, attenuator. Speaker out. Perfect for what I wanted

    Quality:

It's a vox. Enough said.  Great look and feel

    Value:

    Love it

    Overall:

The only missing that I'd like is a reverb.  I also wish it at an 8 ohm speaker output instead of 16 but I'll survive.  I limit the effects running into it because of the 6.5" speaker but it still breaks up very nicely.  For what it is, a great practice amp that I can use late at night when the kids are in bed to a wonderful little amp I can mic during church band rehearsals and Sunday mornings.  I really like the simplicity.  It's be nice if changing out tubes was little easier than taking off the entire back but then you won't be doing that too often

    Features:

The wattage pot setting is great for practice. I can wail without upsetting the neighbors! Nice warm and fat tube sound when pushed.

    Quality:

    Sturdy and compact.

    Value:

Caught a sale and could not be happier with the deal I got.

    Overall:

A great amp for practice or for playing a small club setting with that great tube sound.

Great, but it is what it is.

    Features:
    Quality:

Great worksmanship.  Great looks.  Solidily built.

    Value:
    Overall:

This is an excellent little amp.  It is only 4 watts, but you can really dial in a variety of tones.  The manual says it sounds great when hooked up to a 4x10 cab.

It does have a true tube sound.  It breaks up nicely and the simplicity of volume and tone makes it a nice break from all the options that some amps provide.  The only downfall (easily fixed) is that there is no reverb.  It is a very dry sound.  Overall, I play an American Standard Tele with an MXR Analog Chorus and get a variety of sounds all at a volume that keeps my wife and kids and neighbors happy.

Vox AC4TV mini. Great, versatile amp! Buy it!

    | Review By: ted jackson | 4 months, 1 week ago

    Features:

Actually, if it had a better speaker, it would be a 10 PLUS.  The 3-way attenuator is a

great feature, and nearly worth a 10 just for that.  But beware, it's still pretty loud at

1/10th watt.  Also, you can only run a 16 Ω extension cab.  It should also give you at least an 8Ω

output, so another point off for that.

    Quality:

Again, a seemingly low rating, but only because of the internal speaker.

The quality is very good, but the speaker can't really handle much power at all,

and if you're cranked, even at 1/10th watt, it breaks up, and not in a good

way.  Then again, I was running it with the volume on 10.  I expect if you

were running the amp clean, the speaker would be okay, but I bought this

baby to run it on 10!  Apart from the internal spkr, it's 10 all the way...

    Value:

No quibbles here.  Tremendous deal for the money.  Oh yeah, and it's a cool-looking

    little amp too...

    Overall:

Even though the internal spkr isn't too cool, I knew going in that it

would likely be that way.  Almost every other low-watt amp with a spkr this

small has similar problems, so I wasn't surprised, and wasn't expecting

anything different.  I knew I'd be using this amp with an external spkr,

and it sounds fantastic with all my extension cabs.  This is a great amp, well built

and way exceeds my expectations.  Great job, Vox!
