Dean EAB Acoustic-Electric Bass

Features:
Quality:

Recieved the bass with the bridge split in two. Sent bass back for credit BUT, the bass looked well constructed for the money.

Value:

I will probably try the dean out again in the future.

Overall:

Saw all the great Reviews on this bass so I thought I would take the plunge with a returned level 3 bass. It was suppose to have a few slight blemishes. The bass had the bridge split in two in the box. This can happen, my overall experience with MF has been great. They sent out a return label and sent it back. As far as me purchasing another one, I am thinking it over.

Dean EAB Bass: too legit to quit

| Review By: Braden Jones | 1 month, 3 weeks ago

Features:

good tuners, straight neck, well dressed frets, no buzzing when fretted with enough pressure, and nice finish. The only complaint I have is the one strap button (common with acoustic guitars) so i just use string to tie my strap to the headstock. still an awesome bass nonetheless

Quality:
Value:

best value as far as acoustic basses go. This thing rocks and its cheap too. You can get that acoustic bass sound you've been looking for without breaking the bank.

Overall:

This is a great bass for the price. sounds awesome acoustically and plugged in. The satin finish looks very natural (wood isn't naturally shiny) The tone of this bass is great and it even sounds good when playing slap bass.

my electric bass is fretless and i use fender tapewounds so this bass was a completely new experience. the action is high, but not unplayably high, and the strings are roundwounds, not as finger friendly as tapewounds, but expected.

This bass plays very well and is a joy to own. acoustically it is fairly loud, although you might have to use a pick (I know a lot of pick haters out there would disagree) but it is sometimes necessary to cut through the sound of other instruments. This bass won't out-play any other acoustic instruments but it is able to play with them. Electrically this bass is a little weak, it has alot of finger noise but if the tone is turned all the way down it sounds almost the same through the amp as it does acoustically.

This bass does great when jamming with an acoustic guitar or two and even a cajon (box drum) or other slightly quiet percussion.

Overall this is an amazing acoustic bass that is fun to play and is loud enough to be used as it is intended; Acoustically

Great Bass!

Features:

This is my first acoustic bass and it is fantastic for the price.  It has a very rich tone and great sound quality.  There is some buzz, but it can easily be fixed.  I usually think electric basses sound better, but i was very surprised by how good this one sounded.  (It will not fit in standard gig bags.  Needs Dean EAB bag).

Great deal - good guitar

Features:

I haven't used the electronics yet because I bought it to play acoustically. So far this Dean EAB acoustic-electric bass has been outstanding. I can't put it down.

Quality:

So far I have found just one little blemish on the back of the neck. It is barely noticeable, and doesn't get in the way of playing at all because it is cosmetic only.

Value:

The best deal I have ever gotten on a guitar, bar none.

Overall:

With only a slight truss rod adjust, it has near perfect intonation. The tuners work very well, and the acoustic sound blends in perfectly with two acoustic guitars. I really like the jumbo body with the large round lower bout. IMHO that is what adds to the great acoustic sound of this Dean EAB acoustic-electric bass guitar.
