Comments about Hal Leonard Blues Harmonica Collection Songbook:
I own all of Tom Ball and Glenn Weiser's tab books and this collection of songs is simply the greatest out there. The best thing about this book is the variety. You get styles ranging from Jimmy Reed's first position playing to Little Walter's heavy tongue-block chord style, from fast boogies to slow wailers, etc.The book also really has an edge over other tab/lick books due to its accesibility. There are songs in here like Sonny Boy's 'Love in Vain' or 'Don't Start Me Talkin' that aren't much harder than 'O Suzanna'.ANY beginner or intermediate player can pick this up and start learning blues. Many of the other tab books out there present quite a jump for players who don't have a mastery of heavy quick tongue-block chord playing which the Walters employed. This book has songs of all difficulties which you can use to learn and advance on.And as a Sonny Boy and Little Walter fan, this is one of the most potent collection of their best material all in one place. It's worth its weight in gold just for those two sections. This book will keep you busy for years. : )
